In our series about how to shoot a pistol, Myles now discusses trigger control.
In this video, he focuses on dry fire exercises that will help you with the first principle behind proper trigger control--moving your trigger finger straight to the rear.
If you missed any of our previous videos in the series, you can find them all in a playlist on our channel, which you can view here: • How to Shoot A Pistol ...

It's been over 20 for me, but I had to purchase another piece because being a single mom in Seattle these days has a lot to be longed for in terms of safety. I used to have a Glock 17 that I said schuck it, I bought a Glock 19 third gen instead of another 17. I think it's going to handle better for me since I'm a small individual. These videos have definitely been helping with my grip, and I can't wait to get out to the range!

most importing thing for accuracy trigger control no doubht!
@shortbrownguy
@shortbrownguy Год назад
Without a proper grip, none of this is possible. The goal is to have a repeatable grip that allows you to press the trigger without disturbing your sights and allows your sights to return to zero.
@bourjuva
@bourjuva Год назад
@@shortbrownguy proper grip important aswell for sure but repeatable shoot makes it more important. single presicion shots depends ur trigger control.
@DataGeek903
@DataGeek903 Год назад
@@shortbrownguy yep. Dan Horner says flinch is natural, don't fight it, just know the timing (flinch AFTER the bullet's left the barrel). And trigger is irrelevant, it's 100% grip. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-wmYtgJHZC9o.html

@qmdakhenaton3932 Single precision shots with a pistol are rarely if ever done in real world scenarios. If your grip doesn't allow you to maintain a high level of accuracy during a multi shot string of fire, you have tons of work to do. Nobody depends on 1 shot accuracy when it comes to gunfighting with a pistol, and if you do, you're just making excuses for your inability to properly grip a pistol.

Miles not trying to upstage you. I've been shooting handguns wells over 30 years and just learned a visual technique that may assist. The visual technique is to pull the front sight through th3 rear sight using your trigger finger.

dan horner says flinch and trigger doesn't matter. Grip is where its at. He often demonstrates this by having someone hold a firearm and using a dowel to slap the trigger. the bullet should hit where you're aiming, if not your grip is off.
@rainydays516
@rainydays516 Год назад
I guarantee you as you trying to get better as a shooter, your trigger finger is 99% why you miss. You can hold the gun with just 3 fingers n if your trigger pull doesn't flinch the gun....bullet will be exactly where you aimed. You can have an super firm grip(which you see in a lot of shooter) but if your pull moves the gun just a slight bit, you'll miss. Record your self and any friend who is struggling in slo-mo... tell them to grip the gun as proper n firm as they can. You'll see the pull is where they mess up
