I'm glad you posted a follow-up. I do wonder why people will buy property for hundreds of thousands of dollars, with realtors getting $10k+ commissions, yet $3000 spent to find out exactly what you spent your money on, is somehow considered "expensive". It would be great if a survey were required, or at least customary, for the sale of a property, but it usually isn't. I'm always amazed that people are willing to buy, and not know what they're buying.
Back in the early 50s two houses were built side by side out in the country. Today, I live in one of them. My neighbor (grew up in his house) told me the line was the forsythia bushes. Okay by me, I like forsythia. Then he got two dogs and put up a fence - on his side of the bushes. So it looks like I have a row of forsythia - which he prunes - on all sides. We're also in the town now on a residential street but with a rented, farmed field in back and a cemetery marching our way. Reckon I'll need it before it reaches my back yard.
We have a shed right on our property line, the neighbors right now are okay with it, who knows in the future. That's quite a hiccup in your early summer plans, bummer about the shed. You seem like a really nice neighbor though, great job. We try to be that way too. We have great neighbors so we are lucky and they appreciate us asking about fences and cleaning out ditches and things that we have put up near the lines. I think we kind of know where they are here.
It's good to ask but when we are in the wrong....no crying about it. The only thing was being cursed out gave me anxiety so I went the next day and just scheduled it and paid the 3 thousand dollars.
I am so sorry Paula and Alisha! Glad it wasn’t as bad as originally thought. A lot of work to move everything. Wishing you both a very Happy June! 🏳️🌈
neighbor had built fence 60' into my prop and a barn that is now 5 feet. We had it surveyed for $2100 before we moved in and he covered pins and pulled wooden markers. Paid another 1400 to get survey on fence line and he feels entitled to my property saying he isnt moving it
We had a boundary survey 3 months ago thinking we were doing the right thing. Compared it to our neighbors and it was fine. Fence went up and now he says we are on his property and is getting his own survey bc one of his sprinklers is on our property according to our recent survey and he disagrees. The medal rods were located at each end. So, who gets to decide which survey is right if his comes back different, which it shouldn’t. I don’t trust this guy. He has lots of connections. Worried he will pay a little extra to have a friend do the dirty work for him of not surveying properly. So frustrating!!!!!!!
Dealing with THIS right now!! Had survey done, neighbor has a coop, part of a tractor shed and loads of junk on my property. She had a survey done, the guys who came out stated "I am just doing her a favor, my boss doesn't even know we are out here, he is having surgery today" 👀👀👀 Eyebrows raising!! Neighbors surveyor markings are not matching up to mine, magically it's where she has stated, "a tree line that isn't straight" and the other side of her supposedly other square side has 8 different property corner stakes yet a good 20 plus feet in between her corner and other Neighbors corner... how is that possible?? Have a court date at the end of this month so we shall seeeeee
@@bridgettepatrick8176 best of luck to you! People are a pain in the rear! My neighbor ended up having to remove his sprinkler from our property. We did have to have the fence company come back out and straighten the fence out which gave us about 10ft of our property back and a foot and 4 inches of his back to him. We told him we would correct any errors to not worry. He ended up PISSED because he lost big time. He would have ended up with a good chunk of our property had he kept his mouth shut, lol. He said we were unneighborly and isn’t speaking to us any more. Good riddance he was a PITA!
@@bridgettepatrick8176 Get the name of their surveyor. If they don't give the name, then I'd suspect it's not a licensed surveyor, and it's illegal. If it's a licensed surveyor, then you need to contact your surveyor, let him know, and then the two surveyors probably need to talk. 90% of the time we surveyors agree, for the most part. Maybe a few inches here and there, but 20 ft is a pretty substantial difference
@@johnttravers4247 sadly their attorney stopped communicating with ours right before we were settling on a 3rd survey. Only thing we can think of is she knows she is wrong... its been a headache now with constant harassment from her mowing crew. Just building my case and documenting... she is working herself up to harassment, trespassing by her survey line and hopefully will be getting a protection order... just hate having to go thru this all due to people wanting to act like jerks
Why didn't you get the land surveyor to put in property line stake down.the whole property line..There is.no way that a survey can cost that much..No way..
