I get it life has its ups and downs . Just rember family and you come first . You are one of the only Chanels I watch. I think what you do would take the fun out of it for me after a while with trying to balance kids and a wife.
Hey man, I've been watching your videos for a while. I keep watching because you don't sugar coat, add extra fake excitement, or any nonsense. We spoke over email about the cayman pro v2 and you helped me out. I appreciate you and the channel. Hope you never quit. You're a good dude 👍🏼
@@MrLenzotik really appreciate that and glad to hear I was able to help! Thats what I love more than anything. Just meeting people and helping them along in the hobby. I definitely try not to sugar coat things. That drives me nuts 😆 but it sometimes leads to me complaining in vids like this one lol. Thanks for being here and let me know if ya need anything!
@2fmrc 100% agree with the other guy. I come here for the honest opinions, some other channels seem more like a product showcase. Like, if I wanted that, I'd just wait till the ads start playing lol
You're one of the guys that got me started in this fine hobby. I always have appreciated your down to earth views. Keep it fun for "Matt", that's what's important! Lay off a little if you need. We'll be here one way or another. You say it at the end of all your content, "peace." You need to keep the peace in your life as well as wishing it on us.... thank you, Matt!
@@mikerainey3847 really appreciate that. It’s really been a lot of the other things that have been getting me lately but then it seems like everything I work on Rc related just goes south and adds to it lol. It’ll all work out soon as I get a few good days of crawling in! The weather has just been terrible any time I get free to really go out and enjoy a day so soon as I can get some good days of crawling in I’ll get my therapy for a bit 😆 I really appreciate ya being here and the comment. You guys make it all worth it!
Amazing little rig. I think with this hobby almost the best part of the joy is building the rig yourself to your own specifications. Life can be tough and sometimes you have to stop and smell the roses, and appreciate what you have. this may be an English saying as I’m from the UK but you get what I mean.
@@timmybikester2309 that’s funny cause my dad says that same thing sometimes. Stop and smell the roses. Crazy how that saying goes around the world. Love it!
I love watching your videos because you are just plain honest about how well or frustrating rc parts and life are. Right now is some difficult times for us all. Confusing political situations and major storm damage here at home, wars and people killing each other overseas. Your videos are calming for me and you set a good example for the next generation.
Great build, but more so, great person. Thank you for what you do for the community, and your message. I think it's difficult/impossible for men to admit or talk about their problems, which is sad, so I appreciate you being open and offering to be there to talk to others. Keep up the great work.
@@RocketZ06801 I really appreciate that! Wish I had more people into the minis here near me. We crawl a lot of 1/10s but not all that many people in my area really get in to the minis

I work on my shit after the wife and grandchildren go to bed I live on 4 hours of sleep! I feel you dude.keep going because I would be lost without your support. I wished you lived closer because I would pay you to teach me the electronic side what to buy and how to make it all work together. Take a break when you need to, hell I get notified when you put something out, take care of yourself when you need to. I understand more than you know buddy boy! I’m with you and am grateful for all your help.
I feel you,Life gets heavy. I hate it when everything is going wrong then try and work on a rc then that goes wrong 💥😠👊. Anxiety been kicking as of late for no reason 🙄🥴. Life's a garden gotta dig it 🤙
My life is hectic and busy as well, everyday feels like a constant struggle, it seems like I can never get ahead and the time just flies by... Been watching for about 3.years. It was you who said don't take on to much all at once. We all get burnt out. Now i just step back and take it as it comes. Take it easy on yourself you help so many people in this hobby. Your a good person. Just gotta shut it off every once and awhile
@@2fmrc i think I've watched every video you have listed start to end since I started in rc about two years ago. Always love to see the notification that you have a new video or short up. Top tier content, and it's very much appreciated!
I always wonder the impact on someone's family and life having channels as popular as yours , just so you know I watch i don't comment much but definitely find inspiration, knowledge, and where to spend my money i don't have much of being a dad , husband and only driving dump truck for a living haha . I appreciate you being open and get some rest and enjoy your trip!
@@MetalRay88 I really appreciate that man. That’s part of the reason I feel rushed often. I try to do as much of this stuff during the day hours while my kids are at school as possible. I do also work 3rd shift but get some rest at work thankfully lol. But yeah it can become a second job quickly and definitely take away from family time if you let it. I try my hardest to keep that from happening. I appreciate your comment and hope you comment more often! Always good to hear from another hard working man of the house. I’ve always wanted to get a dump truck myself. I ran equipment for yrs and have my cdl still so I thought maybe one day I could get a truck and make a run here and there. I love that type of work lol
Matt, I skipped lunch today, blood sugar was kinda low. Every conversation I had was a long meandering run-on sentence. I went to Five Guys and had a cheeseburger. What I'm trying to say is, it all works out in the end. Enjoyed the chat as much as I did the video. Who knows, maybe someday I'll talk in my videos... Lol Keep being you, you are appreciated.

Nice build. But I hear ya brother.Lots of of guys really feel the stress life brings but when people ask how ya doing? We all just say the thing.”Im doing good”even though we are not and have all kinds of issues we are fighting.
showing the troubles with this hobby is better than cutting to the end. it doesn't teach. so if you say you've run across this or that issue, then great. its far more honest and you don't have to be apologetic about it. you be you and that's why I watch
I completely understand. Life is just a fiasco sometimes. I just found out that my compressor is bad on my heat pump and there goes another 2k down the drain. Fortunately I've had a couple good weeks of work which is another issue sometimes
@@DoubleADay dang man! Hate to hear that. I had some trouble with my ac this wk also. Luckily I was able to fix it myself but it was still adding to the headache 😆 Hope it all works out for ya
I feel you bro on the struggling part you know it seems like we always get that gloomy time of the year around the Halloween and you know I've been modified and tires for a while now and I have found that like with the landmines I could one lug out of in between the two big lugs so you got a big four small lugs and then a big lug I cut one of the small ones out and then with the megaliths I have a cut all the tread down like a half a millimeter and it has allowed them to feather up so good and just performed so damn good man also I am running a dual stage with a medium in the rear from crawler Innovation and then a whole medium in the front insane
I've been to Branson several times we used to have a time share and the facilities in Branson had some really good crawling spots so I never ventured away from the resort but just from driving there should be endless places, I live about 5 hrs south of branson
Yep Westgate but we stay at the woods resort, my grandparents had one too I don't remember the name of theirs but it was more downtown and had blue roofs and trim, we don't have ours anymore
@@jameswisecarver we haven’t stayed at the woods resort but we drove out to see it last yr when we were there. It looks nice but we liked the lake view at the other one so we stayed there again

Life sometimes just sucks. And there is nothing to avoid this and no way to see it coming. Know it from personal experience and from my work as psychiatrist. Sometimes even hobbies suck. This feeling, when you want to get a rig done and than some things just don't get together (I love my Dremel tool, but someties I hate to use it). Take your time, as others said in the comments. Love to see your clips, but your and your closest well being has priority for sure. You know it.
I used the kenon hobby pn90 scx24 gear set for my hobby wing. Its press on with no grub screw, fits the shaft firm and they sell it for like $15-$20 l, comes with three pinions and a spur gear.
@@2fmrctotally agree. I preordered and upon receiving it i messaged hobbywing asking what they used to mount it in an scx24 and they said they haven’t tested the motor in an scx24, just the esc. I ended up up buying a furitek mount, mofo mount, and 2 different Akers engineering mounts just to see which would work best. They all seem to work with the stock trans with a little finesse. I just happened to already have the Pn90 gear set and had the two extra pinions laying around.
The most I've ever ran right now is like 37% and I love it I do 37 so to get there I put a 23 in the front and then put 14% overdrive transmission mofo has some new gears out that's like 40 50 underdrive
FYI if you have the shorter proline big bore shocks, their top caps are also a little shorter than longer big bores. Just if you want to shorten them up a bit since the 50mm can be a bit much at times.
@@DasE30Cuz I do have the shorter ones on something. I thought about putting the shorts on the front of this one also. May have to look at swapping those caps. Appreciate the tip!
@@2fmrc they're not much shorter, maybe a couple mm. And I'm sure you've noticed the little starter hole for you to drill and tap for a bleeder screw. 👀
The only time I really hang on that corner is when I'm going up something at an angle and turn it out left or right and sometimes you'll catch that but very seldom really if you build your front perfect you have nothing to worry about the break over is so insane like I pulled some of the sickest lines I've ever done with Prophet designs
@@Jsfea01 I think I’m gonna prefer this one honestly. The build is much easier. The printed parts seem better and I like the more angled skid. That being said, I think the slayer would still outperform it side by side. Both of my slayers are complicated builds so there was a ton of kinks to work out etc but they do slay lol
You know another thing I remembered I seen a video that I had put out there and it was with the Felix from profit designs and it was before I stretched him and that son of a gun just with I think he had deadbolt in the rear end and C10 front end and that son of a gun performed so good that I thought about going back at least back to Gladiator you know double bins at least with the like Mass Gladiator double bins
I think I run somewhere around 40 on the lower in the front and then obviously build your uppers to your Caster that you like but you got to be careful with that with the 2.0 you will get that Servo into your shock and that's kind of some of the the new on the 2.5 and then I believe my rears are like 83 on the lower 73 on the upper
Man I hear ya about the bad language thing. I've been an auto tech for the last almost 20 years, and its not just the swear words. Its the creative combinations of swear words that we come up with lol. When I get home I have to remind myself "not in the shop anymore, time to turn the filter back on." Not even just with the kids either. My wife will remind me she doesnt want to hear about how this truck had a loose rear end that was so hammered out that it blew out all the lube, or how some car had its long shaft dragging on the ground.
Hey my friend this is my first video. I noticed the beautiful landscape behind you in the video. What state are you in? It kind of reminds me of Tennessee. I’m from Michigan. And I also wanted to ask what shocks you were using
@@danweiss1371 hey! Welcome to the channel! Really appreciate ya. I’m actually in Kentucky so very close to Tn! I’m running the 50mm proline oil shocks in the rear and some hot racing oil shocks in the front without the springs. I think they measure around 43mm. I may end up swapping the fronts to the shorter proline or something eventually. Just some shocks I had around honestly. I normally try to go shorter front and longer rear. Keeps my front end down on uphill stuff but still allows a ton of flex. The rear end is usually built pretty light up top so going downhill if the longer shock unloads it don’t really hurt me cause there’s no real negative weight there. Hope that helps!
And you have to be careful with your upper in the rear you got to kind of put a little Bend in it right where it gets close to the frame so you don't rub on your lower that's if you're doing double bends and I do my double Bend Stout enough to work and drive shaft is just showing I would much rather get on the drive shaft then get on the links and be stuck
@@seniorxj2931 they do really well. It was more the size on this build. Measuring more like 60mm they just seemed a bit small on this. I normally run a large tire on these comp style builds and the pins really just seemed to fit better. Tires are so hard to get lined out. That’s why I always say there is no “best tire” because they vary build to build a lot imo.
You know I was very timid and building my own links and Kyle really help me out and it's a little expensive to get started but once you do man you can build whatever you want you know and I now run at about 83 mm in the rear so just a few minutes longer than Gladiator and the way I have found it is let's say you won at 83 mm link you're going to end up cutting 73 mm of thread Rod 63 mm of tube and then this is the thing though you can eat some of that up when you get to bending especially double bending you can lose a couple millimeters so I think I usually shoot for like 8586 and then by the time they're done they're around 83 84 and then and then you just do the same thing for the uppers you know obviously you're going to want to be about 10 mm shorter on the upper somewhere in there 8 410 mm but this is the thing when you get to playing with how far you want to roll your axle for the rear and how far you want to pull your axle in for the front so one of mine is set up with 40 mm and the rear and does amazing for Flex like it's over a tire in the front end and then the other one is set up with the 50 mm in both of them do so damn good it's kind of crazy my version 2 right now is outperforming the 2.5 but really I just threw the 2.5 together and I still haven't made it to it to do much tinkering
@@24crawlin yes the 1.0s stretched onto the 1.3 wheels. I really like the setup. The stock foams stretch over the 1.3s just fine and being stretched helps the sidewall be a bit better. I love the combination.
@@micahandamyzastrow4910 I appreciate that. Definitely gotta stop and chill now and then. I think my main problem is the weather has been terrible the last few days I’ve actually had off and could go crawl. So I haven’t had any good long days of crawling and lots of wrenching gone wrong 😆
@@snörre23 I honestly just happened to have one from back in the day when I was trying every outrunner motor I could lol. Back before we really had any options for brushless motors. That was a lot of the headache with this build. Thanks to Hobbywing for not providing a pinion or motor mount lol
