In Today's video I talk about the way in which Prophet Muhammad used to eat, his habits and some of the foods he ate. I talk about what we, as modern day Muslims, can learn from his diet and how we can use it to reflect on our own eating habits.

The more I look into the prophet saw's diet- it seems he was mostly raw vegan, and a lot of soup and veryyyyy little bread - great video! I have recently started doing 30/70 raw vegan and some meat and i already feel such a difference

I think its okay to not eat so much, but you have to make sure to get the b-vitamins from some other b-rich food...the camel milk is a good source for that

Thank you for your latest video, very interesting as usual. I am becoming more mindful of what I consume just as a natural occurrence. I do not eat meat as it doesn’t sit well with me on many levels. I am trying to fast intermittently. Yes I’d like to know more of what you eat. I do have a sweet tooth and chocolate gets the better of me sometimes, less so nowadays as it is heavy and full of caffeine which makes me feel unwell.

I also love chocolate so I totally get it but it definitely seems like your putting thought into what you eat, and that's amazing!

Salam alaykum, with all due respect, I believe meat was important because a lot of the believers throughout history were nomadic in nature. They didn't always have the means and time to start a garden filled with fruit, vegetables exc. Especially in the desert, meat and animal by products would have been consumed more regularly. Think more hunter/gatherer. Trade from travelling would have provided ways to fill that gap, but not to the extent today. 2. Even if vegetables/fruit were consumed regularly, it would have been seasonal with the current preservative methods. Dried fruit, Jerky and milk by products. Fish and sea creatures were probably consumed frequently as well. Deductive reasoning alludes to meat/animals being a lot more active to their diets than is observed until a community started rural farming.
