Great episode. I love the fact that one of Fon's big pieces of advice was just to be a nice person.

These videos are great, but Fon deserves his own segment just to cover other "favorite tricks" he has. I really enjoyed learning how to create that crater texture even though I'll never make one.

Some directors still choose to use physical film over purely digital recording. I think Practical effects will always be there as a choice, and a good one.

I'm so happy I found your channel :) and thank you, Fon Davis, for the great advice. Beginning of June is my interview at the university for film near Berlin, to become a production design student, please cross your fingers for me. I found my dream job in grade 9 and now 5 years later it's my first shot to get to it. Ooof I'm getting nervous even thinking about it

What an incredibly interesting person Fon Davies is. He sounds like someone you could talk for hours to, not only due to his incredible wealth of knowledge but also he sounds like a fun person to talk to.

Been a while since I watched a dedicated and interesting channel that is beginning to grow. If only inevitabilities were quicker. I appreciate another great episode and I hope your channel grows at a much quicker rate in the months to come, you definitely deserve it.

Fantastic video! Didn't even consider how an aspect of props making coincides with making miniatures, that's awesome. Is there any resources you know of that I can use to find commercial fabrication shops? Currently looking for a job at a shop but having no luck finding them online!

At 9:34 I see a big chunk of the Walthers catalog (on the right is the power plant, the coal mine. I also see the cooling coils from Union ice (it is on a different factory kit) grain terminal kit. Bet if I printed that I could sit down and identify every one of them.

It's a cute shop, but they start people at $17/hr so nobody good stays there for long.
