WEATHER
In North Carolina we have all four seasons. While we have somewhat mild winters we do sometimes get snow. Summers are hot and we do have humidity but our beautiful spring and fall are just perfect.
ALLERGIES
This is one that you really have to keep in mind, especially if you’re coming from somewhere with less foliage in general. The pollen here during the Spring especially is NUTS.
PROPERTY TAXES
We do have pretty LOW property taxes here. One way to save even more is selecting a property outside of city limits. This will leave you with just county property taxes to pay.
RALEIGH IS BIG
Raleigh is the second fastest growing city in America.
TRAFFIC
And, of course, because Raleigh is growing so fast, it does come with some traffic issues, so be prepared for that.
TORNADOES
This is a question we get a lot, but yes - we do have the occasional tornado warning. That being said, it’s been a LONG time since we’ve actually had a bad tornado here - most of the time it’s just a warning or an alert that one could happen.
FRIENDLINESS
North Carolinians are VERY friendly, so getting stopped to chat at the grocery store or getting held up in line somewhere because people are chatting is a common occurrence - could be a pro or con, depending on who you are!

Just found this video after doing a search about Knightdale for something I have been working on. So glad you guys highlighted the possibilities of Downtown North! It's going to change the area. I did want to also call out a few local businesses that you guys didn't mention but that are great! Craften Food Hall is another great food/drink scene and it has live music multiple nights a month. For boutique shopping, The Pink Magnolia across from Lowes is awesome! And Rewind Retro Bar helps Knightdale get a little bit more of a "late night" scene and entertainment options with music bingo, game nights, etc. :) Also, the parks and rec department has a festival going on what feels like every month at the park here. Harper Park has some great pickleball courts and is putting in an all inclusive playground. I'm loving that more and more local businesses are opening here and that the town really seems to be invested in making this a thriving community!

Taylor thanks for watching and commenting. I have eaten at Craften and it was great. We will be doing another video highlighting living in Knightdale and will be happy to include the businesses that you pointed out. We are very excited for Downtown North.

Currently in Zebulon and looking to move with the next 12 or so months. Knightdale looks to have the best of what we need, but weighing every option. Any thoughts on Holding Village in wake forest? Was looking for videos on that community but none recent. New construction is what we going for so Knightdale is one of our top options

CJ thanks for watching and commenting. Holding Village is a great community and in fact will be on the channel in the coming days. Knightdale has a lot going for it. You can’t beat the location and lots of new developments on the way. I think Knightdale and Wendell are the new boom towns in the Triangle. Please reach out with any questions and keep watching.

Is there a common reason as to why people would sell a home so soon after buying? I’ve seen quite a few homes in Clayton that were purchased in 2021 and are already for sale.

This is a very transient community. Many people here change employers or are relocated by their companies frequently. Also, we are finding that many home owners have gained so much equity in the past few years that they are selling and upgrading to larger homes.

@@movingtoraleigh Knightdale High School graduates only 22% of kids ready for college and the gang fights in that school due to two different minority groups is well known and that's why the school is down to 11% white kids and almost 90% minority. The people with money put their kids in Thales Academy or look to areas like Cary, Apex and Chapel Hill.

Clayton is too far out and it's a constant battle with traffic to get into Raleigh where there's stuff to actually do. We bought right outside of Clayton and the locals want nothing to do with improving the area and getting some actual nice restaurants and shopping. They're way overbuilding homes, townhomes and apartments which is only making the traffic issue worse.
