Spelman academics is challenging...many state schools including PWI's tend to be academically manageable. Spelman offers a liberal arts education... It is tough! Congrats that your AP credits were accepted, your scores rocked. Most colleges will accept your AP credit however a student have to score at least 3...some colleges want a 4 or higher! Lala Carter yeah, i would not rely on what’s on google. that is deception. once you apply, get in, and receive your award letter, you’ll see how much it actually costs to attend. if you’re still in high school, i would start looking for scholarships now!!

Krystian Stevens a right of passage?! To what? Not being rude or nasty; but, people can’t stand sleeping in a hot house much less a hot room. The Cosby family and other families gave millions of dollars to Spelman. It makes no sense that the university can’t install central heating and air in the freshmen dorms! 👈🏿🤦🏿♂️
Elder Cole ...my daughter recently got accepted and the family is pushing her to go but after hearing the rooms have no AC and for the price you pay, it’s totally NOT worth it. It’s absolutely unacceptable!! In addition, the room sizes and the fact that the girls have to share bathrooms and no fridge in rooms allowed...wth?!?
well congratulations for getting in! i understand you completely. try not to let the cost overshadow the fact that you accomplished something major. the best you can do right now is apply to as many scholarships as possible and harass financial aid LOL 💙

I'm a Spelman alumna but will still tell you, go to Howard (still a very special experience) and create that debt-free foundation for your future. Repaying those loans can wreak havoc on your life. For real.
I graduate 2024 and I’m a freshman in high school I want to focus on achieving getting accepted at spelman. Since I have 4 years before I graduate can u tell me some tips that’s likely gonna get you into spelman. And like what should I be doing now that’s gone lead me into getting me there since I’m fresh out of middle school🙊
i don’t think there’s one set way to get into spelman. just be a good student (shoot for a 3.5-3.8 GPA although i’ve known people who had lower). rack up your community service hours. extracurriculars & leadership roles help. i don’t remember the SAT & ACT requirements, but that info can be found on the admissions page of spelman’s website. it’s good that you have goals for after high school, but remember to just do your best and enjoy. different students had different things spelman was looking for, and i’m sure you’ll have that special something too!
Hey girly! Can you ask around about dual enrollment credits? I wanna know to what extent they accept them. Here in Florida it’s a law that they do, but it varies from state to state, and school to school.
hey, i would try contacting the office of admissions because i’ve heard different things. i know people who are graduating early because of dual enrollment/IB; then there are those who said spelman didn’t accept their DE/IB/AP credit hours (but then they accepted most of my AP credit hours). it varies, so it’s better to hear directly from the college.
