What's up JGANG!? I was requested by a few people to do a little run down on Augusta University and my honest opinion of my school! I love Augusta University and I hope that this video can help you make your decision! I’m a current freshman at Augusta University.

I live in Evans and used to live in Augusta for my first two years & the comparison of the two cities are profound to me. I personally am glad I moved even though Augusta isn't terrible, there is just a lot of things I found that I love about Evans, that Augusta doesn't offer. But they are two completely different cities, I basically drive 25-30 mins to campus, but it goes by so quick bc there is rarely traffic.

Yesss! I’ve heard the same thing! A lot of people say Evans is a lot better too! I personally go there for all the fun so i can agree with that too! Do you still go to AU?

The smell is mainly from the meat packaging plant, it’s a couple miles from the Summerville campus.

PARKING- having to park your car 2 miles from the dorms if you’re a freshman in Oak Hall. In an unsafe area with no surveillance. AND PARKING TICKETS ARE CRAZY

Oh shit. Guess who’s a sophomore in medical school this semester. ME!!!!!!!! I’m trying out for basketball. I really want to play. I’m 6’4. And I spoke to one of the guys who is in charge of the basketball team. He comes to my job a lot.

Did your friends in the video at the food donation drive part buy their own bed risers or does the school have tools to give you that option if you want your bed that tall ?

Parking for the freshman has gotten a bit better. It's still trash but now it's at lot 38 and not 55. This means u can walk to ur car in like 10 min!

So can you have your own dorm or have to have a room mate? If you have to have a roommate do you get separate rooms with lockable doors?

in Elm or Oak you can some how end up without a roommate. I had one but he transferred. In Elm it’s just the wide open space . Oak gives you lockable doors.

oh no it’s super easy ! Just take the Blue route, it’s only 1 8min stop to Summerville, then if you go another stop, you’ll be at the Fieldhouse, which is like the sports area. Go 3 more stops and you’re back at the dorms. I didn’t take a car my first semester and it was super chill and fine. I would recommend finding a friend/roommate that has a car bc getting groceries is a essential lol

Going to Augusta in the fall, do you know what the parking is like for freshman? I know it's located a little far off, but like is it surveilanced or something? Or if parking gets filled up pretty easy?

yeah ! Lot 55 is the place they will make you park. It’s about a 10-15 min walk, but it would be easier to have a friend drop you off. Yes, there is surveillance cameras there, as well as the entire University Police department right across the street. Parking doesn’t get filled up bc not all freshman bring cars to school so you’re basically guaranteed a parking spot.

The smell is AWFUL! The paper mill, the smell of dog food, and the water treatment plant all put into that nastiness. I have walked outside and couldnt BREATHE bc the air is so nasty and thick

Señor Paletero There’s a city wide transit I think you can take. I know it runs to Atlanta but that’s all the info i know about it. Other than that, i think driving is your best bet!

Hi! I was wondering how does the roommate process go for Oak hall?

hey! you go to the housing application on the school website and you can select your room size (2 or 4 bedroom) and your roommates and etc on there! You have to pay t first initial payment first though!

JGANGTV thanks for the reply! I did that a few days ago and emailed the school so just waiting to be let into another part of application to choose room and roomates. Or at least that’s what I’ve been told. Also does Oak hall have its own parking lot?? I saw another comment about having to park miles away

Daelyn Pearson Okay sweet! You can choose your roommate now if you made the first initial fee. Also yes! There is a select parking lot less than a mile from the dorms called “Lot 55”. There’s also a parking deck and a small parking lot on the side of Oak.

Nah he right, its Atlanta with half a mil, and Augusta with about a quarter mil and Savanah with just 140k😭 (speakin population wise) so again hes right

@@justingoddard I'm glad they like it! They are probably smart lol My friends and I are bio majors but we're honestly so sad everyday haha A large majority of our class failed dr. Christy's Botany this last spring semester so this is just my saltiness talking,. I'm sorry for being such a downer
