I am helping so many people relocate to the Utah area and I absolutely love it! I have worked with individuals and families from all over the U.S. and even internationally. If you're planning to move to St. George or Salt Lake City, make sure to get in touch with me!

Would love to move to St. George sooner than later . Just have to get some things in order before making a move. Love golfing so for me its the best destination for me long term.

What I am seeing now is that there are more unfriendly people in the area. I'm not sure if it is due to the growth, but I still don't understand it. I do Doordash here, and the majority of my customers are extremely rude. I have also heard this from other current Dashers, as well as previous Dashers who stopped doing it cause they were tired of being treated so poorly. I also get terrible service at most pick-up locations and constant road rage. Note: As a Top Dasher and an all around friendly person, I always go above and beyond. With that said, "What are your thoughts on these issues?"

Are too many Californians moving to the area? Those people bring their bad habits with them and will not assimilate into the new culture. I see it all the time here in the Boise area.

@Ray R As far as I know, people move all over America from many different places. And I don't believe in blaming all the problems on California. I am sure some are from there, but definitely not everyone like people assume

Doordash is one of the reasons there is so much more traffic on the roads. I'd be happy if they go under.

I got family in Idaho and when I drive across Utah. No matter what, Utah got the worse drivers, and they stay mad.
@JokersSti
@JokersSti 7 месяцев назад
@pfg222 Yeah, that is definitely true. The problem I see here mostly has to do with speeding and tailgating. They just don't care. And it doesn't matter what road they are on, what the speed limit is, or if they are in a parking lot. However, I see the most aggressive drivers in St. George. The thing that really pisses me off is how they tailgate you in the right lane (when you are driving the speed limit) and refuse to pass when the fast lane is completely open. Then, finally, go around you all pissed off. And sometimes flip you off, like you did something wrong 🤔

Lived there for a decade 2003-2013. Miss it every day. Now it's to expensive and overcrowded and still has no jobs!

We live in Mesquite. We come to St George for stores and restaurants. You guys ate WAY over-building. Soon you will be on the top of all bluffs, mountains and mesas. Warner Valley is destroyed. So are dinosaur tracks. Ivins just as bad, encroaching on Anastasi Ridge.

What’s the property tax rate for St. George area?
@livinginstgeorge
@livinginstgeorge 8 месяцев назад
It depends on where you’re looking. Downtown St. George is very low. About 0.3% of the price but the newer areas like desert color, Washington, little valley etc are higher comparatively speaking. These would be closer to 0.5% or so. ($3000/year for a $600k home.)

Interesting…currently live in Chicagoland and looking to move away from snow, bad roads, overcrowded city & year round construction

I just made a similar move. From a fellow Chicagoan, the food in St. George/southern NV is incomparable, especially tacos and pizza. That has been one of the surprising challenges to get used to. But, the weather is great and the roads/construction is better too. There is still a decent amount of traffic which may surprise you. Overall I do really like St. George. You may like Santa Clara or Ivins too.

What about the biggest con, water availability? I lived in St.George for 2 years and loved it. However, with the rampant population growth and life in a desert community water availability is paramount. St.George is in a situation where the singular water source can not meet the population growth, with some people estimating the water to be gone in decades. I understand your channel is meant to bring people into the community, but leaving out this factor is misleading.
@livinginstgeorge
@livinginstgeorge Год назад
Plenty of water will be around for at least the next few decades, thus, I did not include it as a con for this video as it is not going to affect anybody on a regular basis.

As long as people are making money here, nothing will get done about the water problem until it becomes an emergency, and then those same people will say "Someone should have done something sooner." Typical.

We visit St. G often and are shocked that you didn't mention the water crisis looming. Would you be able to comment on why this community has not increased water rates or placed water restrictions on golf courses and residents? Water rates are cheap and thus people use twice what the average resident uses in other communities. We have heard about the water shortage for years but building permits continue to boom and water usage is completely unrestricted. It's sad to see a crisis coming but nothing being done to conserve... aside from meetings that haven't lead to action. There was a plan approved many years ago to build a pipeline from Lake Powell but that isn't an option anymore with Powell being at historic lows.
@livinginstgeorge
@livinginstgeorge Год назад
You are correct, water rates are low, which doesn't help, but building permits and residential use should not be the main focus of the problem/solution. If you drive through Washington Fields in the spring/summer, you will often find agricultural fields completely flooded in order to grow their crops. In the state of Utah, over 85% of water is used for agriculture means, with less than 5% going to household use. There is an interview coming soon with people way more knowledgable than myself, so make sure to stay tuned to the channel! Thanks for commenting!

It entirely depends on what you are used to and what you are comparing it too.

The housing market here is f'd. Unless you sell high somewhere else, or make 150K a year, you won't be able to afford much more than a seedy trailer here.
