I've been living in Frederick County for 25 years. Moved up here with my parents back in the summer of 1999 When I was 14. My mom side the family is all from Winchester Frederick County. Goes back generations.

FC I miss Winchester I was born and raised there and graduated from James wood high… now I’m living in Springfield MO. But really miss my hometown! I still visit as much as I can, have most my family in Virginia! Manassas Va, front Royal, Stephen city all over the area!

Nice ripple effect people over the mountain in Loudoun getting priced out, moving to Frederick County pricing out the people that are local here and then they have to move

Even though you pay property taxes, Its hard to tell where the money goes when you are in the county. The only improvement I ever see are within Winchester city limits, other than that the only new stuff you will see in the county are new storage places, vape shops, or yet another gas station, mean while one grocery store chain has a stranglehold on the entire area and none of the lights are timed. Good luck if you need to cross over I-81. I live 2 miles from Lowes but it will take me 20 minutes to get there just trying to get through the 10 lights at the 37/81 interchange. If you have a kid and don't want them to go to class in a trailer, look somewhere else, our local government couldn't plan a kids birthday party.

A small note about GPS navigation in spotty areas. If we are talking about google maps, maps will let you download areas of the map to your phone and, of course, GPS itself does not require cell service. So, if you know where you are going and you know you might have spotty service in that area, just download that area to your phone and you should be good to go.
