A quick video on some of the pros and cons I've found at the UW over the past two years. Please make sure to like and subscribe! :) #universityofwashington #uwseattle #prosandcons
in every uw video I watch they talk about how bad the weather is.... I’m from southeast alaska & we get double the rain per year Seattle does, sounds like a dream
@@emazaxiix5177 Seattle isn’t too bad with snow or coldness. Eastern Washington is COLD in the winter. The snoqualmie pass and the other passes through the cascades are where it’s bad.
I recommend buying your full-spectrum lighting (minimum 90 CRI!) before the winter, and getting twice as much as you need! If you turn your whole living room into a giant light therapy box, you won't need a light therapy box. The campus is famously beautiful! Seattle attracts a lot of intelligent people and a lot of liberals, which may turn off some people, but I like that. If you're sick, one of the best medical facilities in the world is on campus. The reputation and standing of the UW grows rapidly these days!
Thats so dumb that they wont let you into the major you want... What do they expect? That someone who has their heart set on engineering is going to be like "oh well, i guess i will just study english literature instead??" obviously that person is going to switch to another school that will provide them the engineering degree
Respectfully, most native Washingtonians don’t have problems with the weather. It’s pretty easy to tell who is a native and who isn’t by how they dress.
This is such a helpful and informational video. Amazing job, Taylor! 🙌🏻 We love your content and would love to do some form of collab with you. We DM’ed if you’re interested!
To be completely honest I don’t know. It’s definitely not the most common major, and if it’s a small cohort, there’s a good chance it’s relatively competitive. From what I’ve heard, many of the art/design majors generally are competitive, but definitely take my word with a grain of salt
I’m pretty sure both are capacity constrained majors technically, but I’ve never heard of people having problems getting into either. As long as you do well in classes and take time to write the application essays you should be good to go!
public health / global health is incredibly competitive. The admissions team is not transparent about what they are looking for. My partner applied with a 3.9 gpa in her prerequisite courses and was denied admission, even with a letter of recommendation from a professor in the public health department. Good Luck! I chose biochemistry which is much easier to get in to.
@@darianmullen2184 I was wondering, have you heard how hard Astronomy is to get into? Is it a highly competitive Capacity Constrained Major or a less competitive one?
Honestly for the year I lived in Washington I was surprised at how little it rained. Like my wife and I expected a lot more after hearing of the rain and gloom. I think it rains more frequently and more heavily in Ohio then it did during our time in Washington.
