I don’t like having long hair and I don’t style it. All I do is put it in a ponytail. Like every single day. (I actually cut my hair after that and had it short for a whole year. I got a lot of negative feedback and got called names, but it really helped me mentally. After cutting it I felt less anxious and more confident. I now have shoulder length hair and am so happy I cut it before. It is an amazing experience. I think every girl should get a pixie cut at least once in her life.)
pro if you are gay: people will think you're a lesbian con of you are not gay: people will think you're a lesbian (this is stereotype, but from my experience of cutting all of my hair off during the summer a lot of people thought i came out as gay. which i guess is true for me at least)
Im only 15 and my mom hates the fact that i cut my hair i get asked if im a boy or trans alot and i get made fun of alot but i love my hair and no matter what anyone says i will continue to cut my hair as short as i want because i like it and thats all that matters ( update: I'm currently 19 living my best life I haven't grown my hair out since! I absolutely adore my pixie cut and I wouldn't change it regardless I get lots of compliments on it some harsh ones too but hey no matter what someone's gonna hate on you so just be you! My mom passed away and the b*tch treated me like crap my whole life hella thankful I ended up where I am today. May your beauty within and without outweigh your pain take care !❤️ Ps. If you wanna be friends drop your socials I'd love to see some pixie cuts!
I also looooved it, but it´s kinda annoying when EVERYONE starts to doubt about your sexuality, and thery're like "Are you a lesbian?" it always freaked me out cause i'd be a lesbian if i'd like women not because i have short hair.
KI Mystic literally I've had the same experience!! I get mistaken for a guy a lot which is kinda embarrassing but I personally like how my hair looks anyway so
Oh my god. I Love that. The Fact that U still wear your Hair short. Like I want to cut my hair since I was 14 but I still have Long hair because I am so scared
Kl Mystic me too, I got to the point where my friend told me that if I cut my hair one more time ( i was planning on having a fade undercut) she won’t talk to me ever again, my mom also told me to at least have a “girly” short cut but I just love having undercuts and making people feel stupid for assuming who I really I’m by something as simple as a damn haircut, it’s been 7 months since I cut my butt length hair and I’ve never felt close to my real self like I’m now
I got a pixie cut at the start of the year and I get called a lesbian.. which in my opinion is silly. Having short hair doesn't determine your sexuality, not that I care its just like its 2018.. grow tf up i"m not lesbian but there is nothing wrong with it, so why is it used as an insult?? ughhhh sorry for my little rant. anyways i love my hair i look super hot.
When i had it reeeally short kid´s reactions were HILARIOUS, they were staring at me for like 10 minutes until they decided to ask "Are you a man or a women?" and their parents started to freak out, and I was just like "What do you want me to be?" HAHAHAHAHA I loved it
👏👏 Children can be so innocently clueless 👏👏👏 If I was in your place I'd reply with: "Well I'm a girl and girls can have whatever hair they want." Just to give 'em a lesson about how everyone can just cut their hair the way they want. Who know, one of those kids might get the same hair too
Im 15 years old, when I told to my mother that I wanted to make the pixie cut she almost killed me, she says that this cut takes away my femininity, or they can confuse me with a lesbian or I can look like a man ... Well, I don't care, I'll cut it myself anyway because I'm sure I'll look great, so I'm sorry mom if you disappoint but I never like long hair Sorry for my bad english, I speak spanish ;) Edit: I thought nobody would see this, thank you very much for the support ❤️ And only if you wanted to know... I'm 17 now and after two years I still have my pixie cut and I love it, at the first my mom was so angry with me but now she likes it and understand short hair is beautiful as a long one. My conclusion is, if you are determined to do something just do it, it's your life, not the life of your mom or your dad ... I know this was just a haircut, but at the moment I started to decide for me and not because of my mom decisions, I have more confidence and happiness. Now she can see me with different eyes.
My discipline teacher in high school actually had the balls to tell one of my girl friends that has a pixie cut to leave her hair long and embrace her feminine side! Like is he blind or something?! Does he not see her boobs or her ass? But I'm going to defy his orders and get a pixie cut this November and come to school next year looking like a hot boy!😍 I really can't wait and it's not like anyone ever looks at me in school or anything so why bother what others think right? 'Embrace my feminine side', more like why don't you eat shit and die😑
Faby_ aayyeee mi familia siguen con esa cuenta también y para ser honesta estoy harta de pelo largo My family says the same thing and I am getting really tired of my long hair
Yeah, I'm going to tell my mom I want one. I rly hope she says yes, fingers crossed Also, teachers at my school are very nice, but the students there... I think it would be fun af, bc I don't rly care what they say and they'll probably freak out, lol
I had a pixie for three years and I actually loved it but everyone around me hated it so I grew it out for them. Can’t wait till I shave it all because I want to be who I want to be no matter what anyone says. So JOKES ON YOU SUCKERS IMMA SHAVE
Same ! I also had a pixie cut for 3 years until everyone kept getting upset at me for cutting it! I'd let it grow to at most up to my shoulders and then cut it and they would all get so mad! As if it was their hair! I can't wait until I get one again.
Yasssss we only live once and nobody own us. Do whatever makes you happy because that will make you happy when you're in your twilight years. No regret. I'll have my pixie cut next month. I'm excited! Thanks for your words girl!
Are you kidding me?! Haha That’s not my experience! Everyone like literally everyone told me how I looked like a boy, how I was prettier before. “OMG why did you do that!?” Women should have long hair. ... etc etc. I was basically invisible to dudes for a year haha. And only girls who also short hair said I was pretty. I’ve had it twice so I knew it was coming, but still, this year really challenged my self confidence. A lot. Now it’s a bob. And suddenly I’m attractive again in others eyes. Such a weird experience.
same!!! i love short hair and buzzcuts but people treat me like im not even a girl anymore. it's just hair but no guy has liked me since i cut it. i get called a lesbian and a boy. i have a pastel blue pixie cut now, and im gonna keep that for a while as i got it dyed just recently, but my dream haircut is a colourful buzzcut. i might grow it out to a short bob after that to feel a bit more feminine. its awful that society taught me im not as feminine with this hair, but bobs are hella cute too so idc lmao
I told my brother I was gonna get a pixie, and he was like "no man is going to love you with your hair like that" and I was like " if someone loves me only for my hair and looks, is it real love? I should be loved for who I am not what I look like!" My mom was listening from the other room. Left everyone speechless 😂😂 I'm pan anyway so lmao
I’m currently growing mine out (because i wanna have an updo for prom) but i just wanted to tell you that you were one of my inspirations as to why i got a pixie. I don’t regret it at all.
I hated my long hair soo much, the day I got my pixie cut was amazing! For the first time I was like: "Wow, I'm not totally ugly!" I got many compliments and even inspired some of my friends to cut off their hair. I'm really scared of having to grow my hair out again t once I go to uni though because I absolutely hate having long hair.
Luckily for me, I looked like trash with long hair, so I don't ever get the "OMG YOU LOOKED SO MUCH BETTER WITH LONG HAIRRRR" and instead everyone's like "yeah no you look so much better with short hair than with long hair, don't grow your hair out please im begging you" which is good cuz I've had short hair for about 2 years and don't plan on growing it out XD
@@wendyfiolek5914 Well, it has a lot to do with your face. Face shape, Face size, etc. It's kinda like how other people look bad in bangs while other people look really attractive in them.
@Cherry X it's been like 3 years now since i started cutting it myself at home :) for me it's inconvenient to keep going to hairdresser to cut it for me, esp the pixie cut it u want it to stay u need to keep cutting it every month or so
Just got my haircut today. My brother said I look like a dude and I said “I’m a more handsome dude than you” (Edit) im 14 and my family is a catholic Mexican family so I’m surprised they let me😂
Hey maybe you can give me advice...I wanna cut my hair but I’m super scared. Because I have big ears and really thin hair. Can you tell me if I can get a pixie cut anyway?
“I look like hot guy thank you very much!” I loved that! The shortest I’ve gone is to my chin. I’ve had it shorter in the back and also asymmetric in the front and now my hair is about my shoulders and I’m bored with it and want to cut it. I’m kinda interested in just experimenting with a pixie, but my face is round and my hair is wavy so I’m unsure if it’ll look good on me. But if it doesn’t it’s hair! 🤷🏻♀️
cherrypanda887 I’ve been trying to do some research, like looking up images of people with the same hair type and face shape, but it’s difficult to find people who are exactly the same.
first of all, love your name/pfp 😄 second, I'm in the same boat as you. shortest I've gone was a just above my shoulders cut, and I have very thick and wavy hair, but I'm debating on if I should go for a pixie or not.
I want a pixie SO BAD! I have a really round face so I’m really concerned that it’ll look really bad but I hate dealing with my hair. It’s so thick and I’ve dealt with trichotillomania (compulsive hair pulling) so I really just don’t want to find any bald spots.
Morgan Cloutier Don't worry! I have a really round face too. I have chubby cheeks and had the same concerns you have but the pixie cut looks pretty good on me! If at first you're a bit scared you can still only cut off a bit and decide whether you want to cut more of it off or maby get a bob or smth.
Morgan Cloutier I really hope you went through with it! I also have a round face and I’ve had a pixie cut for a year and I’m actually getting it shorter this month so don’t worry and by your picture I see that you have blonde hair and a blonde pixie is so cute
I know.. the problem is when you have a round face and you're chubby (like me) I REALLY want a pixie but I'm afraid I will look horrifying and everyone will make fun of me
"your probably considering a pixie cut" Me: "yass queen, give me insiration. 😐I need to be hype, getting min tommorow!!!!" *Reads title* Me: "okay I'll just skip the cons 😓"
I just got a pixie cut today and I’m loving it! My hair was sooo thick and it was always in knots but now it’s just amazing! Haven’t gone to school with it, kinda scared of what they’ll think since only one other girl in my school has a pixie cut but who knows, maybe they’ll like it
just what i wanted to comment! btw i love this hairstile on you,i just cut my bangs and they are desister xD i must go to hairdresser and show them your picture
You helped me decided to get a pixie cut last year and I’m really missing it and thinking about cutting it again but I can’t decide P.S. You look so lovely with short hair and long hair Omg you highlighted my comment you’re so sweet ❤️
I really want a pixie cut. But I don’t know what time to get it, like during summer vacation? Over a weekend? I’m also scared of reactions at school. Lmao.
Over the past year I’ve been cutting my hair shorter and shorter and it is currently just above shoulder length. Like most people I’ve been watching videos and looking a pictures and this is the most helpful video I’ve found! Thankyou for this so much!
When i got my pixie cut back in October, I was so excited. It was my first year of college and I wanted to do something different. I honestly loved it, i felt more confident in myself and my looks. I wasnt able to hide behind my hair anymore which was terrifying at first but helped me a lot. So easy to maintain tbh. Some of the downsides I noticed though were that guys litterly avoided me like the plague, or at least most did. I got weird looks and that did hurt my confidence a little but im moving on from that. Some people thought it was really cute, others thought i looked too much like a boy. (Seriously the first day I cut it, my mom said I looked like a boy and she didnt like it.) Its now growing out, looks hella awkward but its okay. I think everyones experiance with a pixie cut is different, mine was okay but I wished people were more supportive of my decision.
I got a pixie cut 5yrs ago, grew it out, and cut it off again 1.5yrs ago, growing it out again, but got an undercut 6months ago because i like both short and long hair and as you can tell i cant make up my damn mind 😅
I'm getting a pixie cut and its gonna be super short! cant wait! also I wont care if people say " I miss your long hair " I will just say good bye to them!
Im growing out my pixie cut after four years and let me just say it's really hard to not have that awkward stage of a sort of a half mullet. Im probably going to end up chopping it off again in a year anyway! But i think its really important for you to experiment with your hair, and don't listen to others when they say not to. you never know!
I got mine back in March and I was scared cuz I kept thinking "Oh my God, what if it looks bad" "What if I regret it and it's to late". But now I have it and it looks great!
I had a pixie cut for a bit over a year now, and it was one of the best choises I ever made. I can not say I regret cutting my hair, since having short hair is very comfortable.. its just great.
I loved this video! It's weird that my grandma had a old version of a pixie but it was normal just a few decades ago, and very refined too. People forget the history of fashion.
Thanks for this video. I impulsively, but not really, got a pixie cut two days ago. I’ve always wanted it and I’m so glad I did. I have three kids and having one less thing to worry about has been amazing. Not worried about what others think at this point in my life, I’m almost 40 and I’m tired of living for others. Just jumping in and deciding to get the haircut I’ve always wanted was so liberating and best decision I ever made
I've been rocking a pixie cut for years! And every time it grows out I cut it! I'm finally after all these years going to let it grow and just keep the bag cut low till all my hair catches up!
I had my pixie cut done at the start of my last highschool year and it turns out not quite what i expected. Most of my teachers say that i look awesome but the opposite from my classmates. They said that I look like a lesbian which is way soooo superficial bc why would they judge based on what my hair look like? It really pained my confidence. Now I settle for a short bob cut. Btw, you are such a gorgeous woman. Keep slayin 😘
I had a pixie last year and I can say I don't regret it. I've been growing it out since, but it was definitely a (literally) growing experience. Something about chopping your hair off gives you a kind of confidence and a new start.
I'm afraid to get a pixie cut because my friends might react to it badly... Idk. They say i look better with long hair, but I HATE having long hair because it's always tangled and annoying.. please help. I'm kind of scared about what people will say at my school... because some people are snobs at my school.
You are afraid of doing what you want because you think your friends might react to it badly? If they don't support you they are not your friends! Sorry, but it's true. If there are people trying to bully you, you should just ignore them. Be yourself and be confident about yourself! Confidence is so beautiful! They will get that, too. Did you already cut your hair? Update please =D
I cut my hair. And it looks fabulous! Thanks for all the confidence boosters for those of u who replied! ;) I feel so great right now and all my friends love it!
I'm so happy for you! That's great! =D It makes me want short hair so much harder. Is it much work? I'm very lazy... but also looking forward to a short pixie =D You're welcome ;)
@@NoOne-mv7fh A pixie really isn't that much work. Even when you run your fingers through your hair it doesn't get messed up! I'd totally recommended it. ;)
cut my hair really short in November 2019 and I don't think I'm ever going back to long hair. currently considering cutting my hair again soon and can't wait to have it cut after 8 months of growth. having short hair really helped me when I wanted to present masc or androgynous, and makes me feel so confident when I want to present feminine.
I was also very afraid of cutting off my hair. But since I really wanted to have short hair for so long, I decided to get a pixie; I absolutely love it, and I don't regret it at all. It's comfortable and easy to style.😘
I had my pixie for about a year before growing it out again, mainly because I had severe ponytail-envy. It was the best thing i could have ever done for my hair. Now past shoulder length (after about 1,5 years of growth), it's really healthy! And also as you mentioned, have I never gotten more complements in my life, and I really loved it. I still urges to cut it short again, but I'm planing on going abroad for a year and don't really want to worry about having to cut my hair every 4-6 weeks. And the process of growing it out, as you mentioned, is really a pain. Even more so when I don't suite hats lol cx
i’m getting my hair cut off TOMORROW and i’m so scared but the pros helped me be a bit more confident in chopping it. my backup plan is a beanie and/ or box dying it dark brown or black
I had a pixie cut freshman year of high school and felt so fresh after I had it done! Definitely recommend to those you are thinking of it. Helps your hair grow back healthier too ❤️
I cut my hair into a pixie and I love it! It actually helped me come out of my shell and it's giving me a new start. It fits my personality much more than my long hair and I'm a tomboy so that too. But along with others on here, people assume im bi or gay so that sucks when it comes to guys...
I love this video. I love that it’s pretty obvious that you genuinely just want to offer a bit of help to anyone thinking about getting a pixie cut. You seem really....relatable and friendly. This was a refreshing change of pace from seeing people make super dramatic posts about drastically changing their hair and then no real follow through. I’ve been thinking about making some changes to my hair, but I’m scared of thinking I’ll look ugly. Change is difficult sometimes, so hearing that helped you be more confident was super nice. Also, I dig the vintage stuff. There’s just so much personality in it. Ok I should be asleep. I just wanted you to know that I really enjoyed the video.
I completely relate to how you said you were scared to get one at the beginning! I wanted to cut my hair short but I put it off so long for the same reason, I thought everyone would realize how ugly I am with everything out in the open. Then once I cut it I realized I was hiding behind my long hair my whole life which was terrible for my self esteem. I’ve become so much more confident from cutting it :)
I've had short hair for years, but recently I've buzzed it completely off and tbh I feel much more confident right now. And as a woman with a buzzcut you get a surprisingly big amount of positive comments! 🐺
I am getting a pixie cut tomorrow! Not really short but short! Edit; Yas I got it! And im loving it! But I spent the most time styling it in a while haha
hey! i just got my pixie cut, went from very long to short hair and it was the best decision i’ve made when it comes to my hair in my whole life. I absolutely love it and i encourage everyone on the fence to go for it. It makes you feel confident and seriously anyone can pull off a pixie cut. I don’t have any negatives about it to say, but this video was one of the videos i watched before i got it to encourage me, so, Thank You❤️
I've had lice for over two years, i've done EVERYTHIIIIING, they just still there !!! so i decided to go back to pixie hair as i've always loved it and i had one when i was 5
Started having pixie cut since about 10 years ago and never turned back since then...it has never been the same type of pixie cut each type, I am enjoying it
My hair goes past my butt, and I'm so tired of it. I wanna just chop it all off, but my mum always tells me that I'll regret it? Something like that at least.
If your still in school then do it over the summer. The reason I say this is because you most likely will not see any of your classmates, especially now during this pandemic :) hope this helps
I've had a pixie cut for like a year and I've considered growing it out many times, but after thinking about it a lot I've realized that litterally the only reason I'd want to grow it out is because of other people... Like thinking I'm a guy, thinking I'm lesbian, saying they liked my long hair better (even though I never got compliments on my long hair, ever). So the only reason I'd grow it out is litterally for others, how stupid is that lol. I love my pixie cut and I'm definitely not growing it out any time soon, even if that means people won't find me as attractive (it's not as if they did when I had long hair lol)
You inspired me to have a pixie cut back in March 2017. I loved it so much. I’m growing it out and I’m planning to get it again but this time, I want to donate my hair. edit: when I got my pixie cut, I actually noticed growing, which I love. My hair would NOT grow at alll when it was longer. ps, is that a loft bed in your background?!?!? (well above you)
oh my goodness you are so lovely! I'm glad you love it!! xoxo but yes, it is a loft bed, & here's a video of me building it hahaha ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-GvMpZXrobz8.html
i got a pixie cut a few years ago and it was amazing! i felt so confident, saved a lot of money because i used less product, and i was straight up told i look better with a pixie cut (except by my parents and grandparents, but theyre traditional and don't like short hair on women). i'm considering cutting it again. i don't care about being called a lesbian because i am one, but i don't want to be called butch since i'm femme (but short hair is traditionally butch).
i watched your first pros and cons video when thinking about cutting my hair and i instantly decided to cut it probably a week later. and i’m soooo happy!! you’re so cute and inspirational, and you’re so right you get so many compliments and it makes you less insecure and YOU DO go thrift shopping soooooo much more it’s crazy♥️
Had a pixie cut for about 5 years and I have extremely slow growing hair.. bad idea. When you have normal genetics and your hair actually grows regularly this is a great idea. I had NO idea my hair was so slow growing until I shaved my head. Longest 5 years of hair growth of my life.... yall lucky
I have an undercut currently with bob length hair on on. And I’m REALLY considering getting an pixie undercut. I told my mom that I want to do it and she said no I’ll prolly regret it, but I can still do it. So like 👀 I have a haircut appointment this weekend so I may or may not be planning to get my haircut short. EDIT: the original comment is from August 2019 and it is now June 2021 and since the original comment I cut it short (pixie if you would), buzzed it all off for a buzzcut, grew it out and had a mullet for a few months, and now I'm back to having short hair (I hate calling it a pixie ill be honest) I've also dyed my hair a bunch this past year. I STRONGLY recommend cutting your hair short as it brings you more confidence in trying other cuts and colors and I just love it so much. To past me who was afraid of having short hair-bestie you did it and let me tell you, you look better and feel better about your appearance don't be afraid to do it
omg I cut my hair short like not a pixie cut but just regular short hair and everyone at school was like omg why'd you cut it I liked your long hair and i was like bruh
I got a pixie yesterday. I like it. I don’t LOVE it. I don’t regret it but I kinda miss my old hair(it was just above my shoulders). I’m happy with it and the more I look at pictures of these girls I follow with it, makes me like it more. Luckily, my hair grows real fast.
My pros of a pixie: 1. You get so many compliments about it 2. It will make your features Pop. 3. Your washing will be cut in half 4. You can try out new and different styles of pixie cuts 5. It looks good on every face shape, there is always a style of pixie or short bob for you Cons of a pixie ive found: 1. It takes a while to grow back out your hair 2. Styling is limited for the length of a pixie 3. Some people may be rude and call you a “little boy” as you cut your hair 4. Bed head is such an annoying experience. 5. Your head will be alot colder than it was when you had longer hair.
So this is a complete side note but I just wanted to say that, you are absolutely gorgeous. You have such a unique set of facial features, and you stand out in such a beautiful way. Please always remember that you are not the sum of other peoples thoughts and comments about you, and that you are beautiful and uniquely made. Also, thank you so much for taking the time to share about your hair story. It was really helpful in narrowing down what I thought I wanted and in clearing up what lingering questions I still had.
