Miracle was way too ahead of everyone back from pre TI6 until post TI7 his playstyle is just way too different from anyone else that's why he always stands out.
I'm sorry to say this but he is past his prime. He undoubtedly has the highest attained mechanical skill at his peak in comparison to his peers ever seen in pro Dota but he has lost that edge ever since 2019. I do want him to come back and compete at the highest level again but to be at the very top? That's no longer possible for him unfortunately.

Glad that the one and only, the face of Dota 2, Dendi has been mentioned. One of the very few players who have appeared in a TI grand finals multiple times. The most charismatic player and most loved by the community. He's waaaay past his prime, but the impact he had in the first half of Dota 2 was simply undeniable.
Dendi was the most beloved DotA player ever imo. I was 14 when I watched TI1, and we all wanted to emulate Dendi. I still watch B8's matches in hope that we can see Dendi at a TI one more time.

Depends on the category... Individual skill - Miracle cannot be denied, the name fits, he's an alien or a robot. But shoutout to Sumail as well, give the emperor his flowers, peak Sumail could not be beaten in mid lane and he is still one of the best midlaners playing the game today. Longevity - Puppey easily. That man has been in dota since forever and hes still good, dont get it fucked up. Achievement - Ceb and Notail easy. Their individual journeys and struggles to get to where theyre at now? Incredible. And they have accomplished some Dr. Disrespect shit (the 2 time back to back) which is unlikely to be repeated.

MIRACLE is the goat of dota 2. It’s like 80% of the pros believed that he is the chosen one. Hopefully, some team will recruit him as MID for the upcoming tournaments and TI. He always dominate his mid lane like crazy. I just think he is still in his PRIME but he was just too loyal to his team with kuroky. PS: He is still playing at this time and reached ranked 6 Leaderboards in EU server.
In terms of individual skill it definitely has to be Miracle. What this guy did was simple outstanding. He defines metas, carried Teams and played a extreme variety of heros, back when every pro had his 2 or 3 goto heros. Dendi had Pudge, Quop or Puck. Paparazzi had Sf, AM, Gyro. Puppy had Chen. Miracle had Sf, Quop, Morph, Am, Invoker, Storm, Luna, OD, Ember etc etc

the reason miracle is the goat is being so humble at such level is insane to me specially in esports scene where even half of what mriacle achieve people get into there heads and start acting like superstars
ill be honest the reason why i watch Ti before because of miracle i was looking towards on his individual skill. i love he's invoker gameplay. Notail achievement wise he is goat Puppy Consistent player still above He is goat Dendi he may be not able the catch-up with current players right now but we have to respect this guy he is the face of dota shows a bug that we cant even imagine, he was monster in early dota 2. i have to mention these goats ceb,aui-2000,jerax, koro maybe ? In current dota 2 Yatoro is the best carry as of now and replacing miracle.
Individual and raw skill wise Prime Miracle is a good answer. Overall aspect if we include like achievements , influences , legacy , and what they did for Dota2 scene both community and pro scene the answer will be undeniably Notail. Honorable mention is Ame the Uncrowned King.
If you guys were there when Miracle world first reached 9K MMR, it was so hyped. His named and highlight all over the place. He did ahead of his time. But nowdays people already catch up. You either retired as a hero or compete long enough to see yourself wash up.
Miracle used to make play after play after play consistently that’s what makes him different, it wasn’t like 1-2 lucky things, you could see him consistently making smart moves
I don’t remember who said it but somebody said nobody knew the meaning of the term outplaying until Miracle came into the scene, before that, people were just hitting creeps and pushing towers.
Dota at this day and age has the biggest talent it ever had and it keeps getting higher and better. Even now Miracle is in the top 5, but back then? Waaay ahead of time, no question about it, he was number 1 All the greats such as Topson, w33, Arteezy, Sumail etc were always close, but not really above his level. There is talent, and then there is a genius.
I think TI12 Yatoro is very close to peak Miracle. Difficult to say who's better. When picking GOAT, you have to consider the consistency. There were many great players and teams throughout the history of Dota. But not that many consistently on top for several years.
he is consistent on top cuz he got the best offlaner to ever play dota and the best support duo after notail and jerax., while miracle has to solo carry his team often, yatoro was like a passenger free farming all the time cuz collapse and supports caarrying the game on their back. yatoro is consistent carry and thats the only position where he thrive. Saying that, hes not close to becoming a goat. being only good at one thing and not remarkable, id put collapse above him to be honest. the impact collapse has in his team is undeniably the greatest

His senses and farming patterns are by far the best, much better than it was back in miracle's time. They both hit their peak at some time and currently dota 2 is faster and a little harder due to better competition. Watch his movements, nobody is even close to Yatoro's skill and understanding of the game. BTW: There is no way a TEAM win 2 TIs if there is someone not very good at any position. You can have 1 weak position and you will be not able to win. If you think someone is weakling in Team Spirit, you just do not understand the dota2. They are all 5 really great. Also everyone is mentioning how Miracle was dominating Mid, i am pretty sure back in his time, the biggest rivalry was No[o]ne vs Miracle on the middlane where No[o]ne in 60%+ games dominated him in the midlane in terms of mechanics. People are making GOAT from someone based on highlights on YT from pub. He was great player, a TI winner and pretty sure at this time the best carry player. But nowadays people are better.

With how young the core of Team Spirit are, there’s a chance for Yatoro/Collapse there if they are not still there. Also glad to hear Dendi, if you started playing dota 2 since the beginning, you will hear the name Dendi everywhere for four years and even past TI6.
Miracle a Ti winner and Ti second place. First professional player to reach 9K mmr. I remember watching his gameplay before picking those hero in actual match. Now miracle can't leave NGX since his a co-founder unless, revoking his contract and ownership.
This is a very hard question TBH, mainly because the career of a dota2 pro player is not that long unlike other traditional sports. I'll say in terms of longevity and consistency, Puppey is the GOAT. In terms of Overall individual skill its Miracle. But in terms of being the face of dota and helps build the community from scratch. Ill say its Dendi.
Noone will ever reach peak Miracle- mechanics in this game, that kid was legit superhuman, what a player. Agree with Crit- mostly I guess, and Collapse.

i think its really hard to say who the GOAT is because the new generation learned from the best and perfected their craft players like miracle just learned on their own for me miracle is the GOAT eventhough i think yatoro is much better than miracle was at his peak its like comparing scientists from 1000 years ago with scientists today every scientist from today can achieve more than the best scientist 1000 years ago could achieve but they put the first pieces into place to make the next steps much easier
Nothing offensive but miracle's downfall is just because of love to his team not the dota2. He could be friends with anyone but game is game, he have to choose team coz it's teamwork. I don't know why kuro is still playing btw!
First time I played dota in 2015, I stuck in 1.2k MMR until 2017, then I watched some of miracle highlights and eventually really get into it and started watching his full game, I climbed to 2k for the first time in like 2 weeks, and got into 5k in like 6 months. He definitely has the most impact to my ability of playing Dota for sure.
As a gamer that have seen dota since forever i can tell you one thing, there is no doubt that the best player that ever touched this game is Miracle by a far margin, when it comes to skill ceiling nobody will be even close to him, this guy is so good like if he doesnt play for 10 years he will be able to compete with the best in a short period of time. Miracle is Messia of Dota no doubt about it.
I still haven't seen player as good as Miracle on individual skill, neither i have seen an invoker player like him there was a time if he picks invoker he wins all game alone use to be called " The Miracle Show ... true legend in DOTA community !
MIRACLE was my idol, seing him play in majors and the time when he eas the first 9k mmr. It was a thing of beauty. 1v4 ganks, solo kills, outplays and many more. He plays enemies like they're children
I knew it. I played DotA and mostly play LoL and only has ~100 hours in dota 2 but I still like watching Miracle. Like I didn't follow Dota2 at all but imagine his skills is too good that it made him became so popular.
There must be some of categories for every position and other aspects. But my true inspiration for playing Dota is master SingSing and AdmiralBulldog Hahah
I feel like Miracle's retirement should be good. At his prime, he was just incredible, he was like a magician, squeezing water from a stone making impossible things happen. If you see his liquipedia profile, its like every dota2 players dream, pub guy comes to pro scene, immediately winning multiple majors, winning TI, getting 2nd place next TI then leaving like a chad.
Miracle, true. But dendi kinda lost his magic. It's been hard for him to play pro, even in two regions (EEU and NA). But he's probably better to be immortalized as a legend. He was once great, but not today. GOAT means you have to be consisent

That’s just not true, people praise Jerax, Crit & Fy all the time, they’re absolute legends. Miracle- is just on another level, and other support players like Puppey have tons of achievements, along with captain credit. I’d say pos 4&2 are the noticed roles in terms of gameplay.
On individual ability, Miracle- stands alone, there is absolutely no question about it. He was so far ahead of the curve with how he played that people analyzed him endlessly to catch up to him and yes eventually the field is now much much stronger, today you cannot really discount any player so easily because they’re all neck and neck. But in many ways I feel Miracle- caused this surge in always improving individual skill and we see unbelievable teams across all regions by that. In terms of teambuilding and consistency, it’s either Puppey or Ceb for me. They’re just wayyy too good at what they do, no other person has the leadership they have. Unreal.
You could see a lot of new talents on the field right now due to the fact the game is items dependant now and it's more of a team game than solo like before. But I don't think any of these new talents are comparable to Miracle- back then. This guy is a living legend with his tremendous sick plays. I hope we can see more of his pro scene gameplays or even just streams.

In terms of legacy we cant forget dendi OG player pretty much all a great candidate because such a successfull career.. But individually i think miracle is just the best, like the best peaks He is that guy who can make something out from nothing and when he does, you just camt fathom how much he was above everyone else
I think we also shouldnt forget about the chinese players AME should definitely be in people minds once he won TI everything is just perfect with him its almost like robotic, if only LGD did not choke that finals against OG 😂 They also have the great wings team, somnus who is just as "miracle" or FY the chinese support god The chinese definitely lacked marketability LOL only some of those i can actually remember
