Prosecutors on Darrell Brooks sentence: 'Morally bankrupt... His character is void'

The moment she said "He thinks he is in control when in fact he is in control of NOTHING" Oh that set something off in that control freak lol I LOVED IT!!!!

DA Opper played Darrell Brooks like a fiddle. He could not take it being shamed with facts from a female prosecutor in front of a female Judge! When Ms Opper told Brooks to sit down and shut up I thought his head was going to explode. I have so much respect for this Judge, the DA and the rest of the prosecuting team.

It's funny because realistically Brooks had one job during the trial: Show the world that he isn't the type of person who would black out with rage and do something insane. ...All he did during the trial was showing the world that yes, he got a problem with extreme uncontrollable rage.

The first woman who told him “No” is the woman who sent him to prison for his entire life. It’s poetic.

He actually interrupts and says he's not going to sit there and be disrespected?? He literally just made Sue Opper's Point himself for her and showed the court that she's 100% right about what he is.

The prosecutor played this idiot beautifully. Her word choice was precision targeting and he reacted exactly the way she KNEW he would by getting emotional and angry when he was insulted after hours of rolling his eyes and showing no remorse during the victim statements. She dug his grave and he took a running start and dove in head first like the absolute fool that he is. Beautiful.

Prosecutor Sue Opper deserves an award for putting this monster away.

Listening back (addicted to watching this case tbh) it is so good to hear Attorney Opper get to say "Nobody cares what you think, sit down and shut up".

Sue Opper. You madam and your whole team conducted yourselves with the highest level of dignity, integrity and grace. It was an honour to watch you conduct yourself in this insane trial.

Just like when he had no control last November when he was fighting with Erica and Corey and he knew he had no control in that situation because Nick Kirby was there and Daryl Brooks would have gotten his ass kicked so he flipped his s*** and ran over all those people. This dude is such a coward and has been enabled all his life. Sue Opper was amazing.

There needs to be a point where you are deemed a menace to society and put away for good before you end up murdering people. He should have been locked away a long time ago.

None of what DA Opper said here was for the judge's benefit, of course, even though she's technically addressing the judge. It was for the victims' benefit and in the process, got under the pathetic little demon's skin. She is absolutely amazing, a hero and a credit to her profession.

As a Probation Officer I've heard hundreds of closing arguments/ sentencing statements, and the simile she used to describe her sentencing recommendation is the most powerful I've EVER heard: "he hit one, kept going, hit two kept going, hit three kept going....that is consecutive sentences..his sentences should be stacked the way he stacked the victims..."

The fact that a supposedly grown man would asked to be sent out of the court because he is acknowledging he has no self control is pathetic.

The judge that let him out on $1000 bail after punching and hitting his girlfriend with a truck should be brought up on charges.

Its honestly INSANE that this man was even free to begin with. I was looking at his criminal record and I found out that he had been given a slap on the wrist a BUNCH of times. Cases where he committed battery and was only given probation, cases where he had sex with a minor and was given probation. Almost every case had ridiculously low bails, including one that was only $100. One of his more aggregious crimes (i forget exactly what it was) he was only sentenced to 37 days in jail. Even when it comes to the most recent crime he'd committed, he was allowed to get out on a ridiculously low bail. If he'd been in jail where he belonged, this never would've happened. I was arrested for possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia way back in 2009 and my bail was $1500, and I had the option between 60 days in jail or 1 year of "zero tolerance" probation. I had no criminal history prior to that either. But this man can beat people, shoot at people, try to run people over, show a very clear pattern of violent behavior, and he's allowed to post bails between $100 and $1000? Wtf!?

I love this DA, she knew that calling him a coward would get to him. Sociopath bastard. You know he wanted to backhand her. Coward is the perfect monicker as all abusers are! Cowards!!!

He strikes me as someone who, if ever allowed out of prison, would track down everyone who testified against him and kill them. If I were on that jury or in any way part of court, I'd fear for my life should he ever be allowed to roam free.

I was 16 when I went to jail. After 2 days, my parents drove 90 miles to see me. I was ELATED when I saw them. I was "Going Home"!! Well, I soon found out they were NOT there to bail me out & I was NOT Going Home!! Three days later, the Judge sent me home. I HATED my Parents for a long time. I Planned my revenge & I continued to punish them. In my early 20s, I was working & starting a family of my own. A Dear Friend of mine was raised by a Mother who bailed him out every time he woke up in jail. Today, my Dear Old Friend is a career Criminal & has spent 9/10 of his life in prison. He'll be up for parole in January 2023. My parent's decision to leave me in jail was the Smartest & Best decision they ever made regarding my upbringing. Parents are NOT their kid's BFFs!! The job of a parent is to provide the world with the Best Adult they possibly can. When your kid NEEDS discipline, GIVE IT to them!! The hatred doesn't last!!
