This mansion was built in the 1800's when the owner moved to Ohio because he didn't believe in slavery. This area of Ohio became a prosperous community and was on the Ohio Erie Canel which was one of the most important trade routes of the time. This mansion was also part of the underground railroad. It is also said to be haunted. On the day I visited I didn't see or feel anything out if the ordinary. There was a civil war reenactment going on the day I visited. Days tours are free but they would appreciate a donation. There are also ghost tours available.
