Before you get your patches and membership into any type of Riding Club or Motorcycle Club, there are different phases you go through from being a "Hangaround" to a "Prospect". Depending on the type of club each phase can be a few weeks to several months or even years. In this video we'll talk about the difference between Hangarounds and Prospects, the importance to having each in your club, and what it's like to be in each of these different roles before you patch-in to a club.
Be sure to watch our other related video of the difference between an MC (Motorcycle Club) and a RC (Riding Club): • Motorcycle Clubs (MCs)...

Patches are EARNED but you still pay for them and that’s for the earned privilege to wear them. Those patches belong to the club. Great video… I am SA in a club and sent this to my hang around and his sponsor. Nice work

Probating to earn those patches gives you pride in your brothers , club history & yourself like nothing else will . It puts you up there with all the brothers towards an equal playing field , but never forget that there's so much more to learn & understand . Best advice i was given by an old school brother was this ; you never want to do something stupid to get a brother killed or put in prison . And if you don't hold a position above "member " status , like prez , VP or enforcer , you never discuss politics with anyone outside your mc . Question here , since every mc across America is run different & not everyone has the same by-laws , what makes you 2 say that what other channels say , is wrong ? Curious myself as to why ? I'm a retired member from a mc that's been around since 1962 . Retired 2 years ago as president because of medical issues . Great job so far ... H&R Snake S.F.F.S

Motorcycle Clubs started before our time. The founders built tradition and culture. We are allowed to wear our patches and conduct us as Clubs because of those before us. We wouldn't say we are any more right than someone else but we do know the culture and tradition. Progression is important hence the changes from the 40s to now, however, those traditions and culture should never be forgotten. Without tradition, what is there. Our hope is to share our experience along with the culture and history. Although there are different ways, history does not lie. Thank you for the great comment. We have plans for a more deep dive into the culture but everything has parts of that Culture.

Another great video. I really like how you share your experiences and stories. Really helps the viewer get an understanding of how things go. I've been through the hang-around and prospecting experience, I think you guys did a great job of explaining it.

I joined the Local H.O.G. 1 Season ago. At age 62 I was one of the younger members. My Local HD Dealer closed last December. It was $20 to join the Local Club, but it costs $60.00 this year to join H.O.G. This year it costs $20.00 to join the Michigan Touring and Ridging Club. One thing I really like about the Club is that they state that "ABSOLUTLEY 1 % er ACTIVITIES ALLOWED"

HOG groups are fine. We hear that most of the members of those groups have an average age of geriatric, but if you want to explore organized rides in your area that's definitely an option. When I purchased my latest Harley they gave me a free membership for a year, which is how they get members to join easily and it helps with their marketing and such. It should come as no surprise that the reason HOG exists it to retain business with Harley, and that's OK too. That said, I'd like to ask you a question. How would you define a "1% activity?"
@mikeskidmore6754
@mikeskidmore6754 Месяц назад
@@BikerProtocol 1% Activity is selling Drugs , Racketeering , Prostitution ect. That's what I always have been told they are. I know a couple of women who used to be in 1% Clubs that is their Old Men were ect. I was able to own H.O.G. because I have a Buell. The HOG Club rode to Lima OH last summer to the Flat Track races I got 63 MPG on my Yamaha FZ-07 They took two line Highways and never rode over 55 MPH.. I am not really into Biker Tallies because I am not into drinking and parting. I still ride like a Hooligan some times and am about to do my first Track day at a Local road course. I had to buy a 1 piece Leather race suit.

It's actually a positive thing that our culture is becoming such a big thing. Back in the 80s, it was about riding, brotherhood, and how solid you were. Now, there's just too much money involved.
@BikerProtocol
@BikerProtocol Месяц назад
You got that right. Hopefully the money doesn't take over like it does for most culture and tradition. I actually saw Halloween decorations at a store just the other day...ITS JUNE!! 🤦

Only Jax wore sneakers. And he did that for a reason. The person in HA that he portrayed. Was a young guy and he was the only that wore sneakers! He wanted to get as close to how that guy was as possible!!!

Do a search for "Motorcycle Club Courtesy Cards." It's not much of a thing these days but that was in essence the business card of the motorcycle club world. It's more of a formal thing these days and we have received several over our time in the community.

Wrong douchebag. All one percenters (which the guys in this video clearly are not) had courtesy cards. Some old school members still carry them, such as my buddy, and legend, Brendan Manning of the Hells Angels.

I would join a sober or Christian club. I'm an ex con and recovering alcoholic. I want to ride, but not deal with the BS of traditional clubs, especially the drinking, fighting etc.

Not everyone in a club drinks , smokes weed or whatever . And if a brother can't handle his poison , the club will & he would be banned from doing it .
