That is insane! I am so glad everything worked out in the end. Treadmill sounds like it has been clutch for your recovery and progression. Some great tips and advice for folks going through this. Thank you for sharing your journey Martin.

So glad you are now finally over the worst Martin. There I was moaning about a pulled calf muscle! At 74, I know all about the dribbling now. Great to see you looking better, I hope you feel well enough to go out for a walk soon. Don't do too much at work. Take care.

Hi Martin. I've found your vlogs very informative. I'm in the pre-operation stage. I have options and like you im erring towards having the bugger out. I'm an avid snowboarder and musician (guitarist)and am hoping that a trip to the alps will be possible the coming season. I watched each video and noticed the last was May. How are you doing now? Are you running again? Is life normalising somewhat? Thank you so much for this channel and look forward to hearing about your progress. All my very best. Edward
@TheDeterminedRunner
@TheDeterminedRunner 3 года назад
Thanks Edward, I hope everything goes smoothly for you, it's a lot to take in. I'm still improving, not back to the level of fitness I'd have liked to have been but have slowly started running again. Some folks seem to heal quicker than others but I'd say airing on the side of caution, it's looking like it'll be 6 months post op before I'm doing things properly again. You may be quicker but everyone is different. Hopefully you'll be back to it in time for the winter season if you choose the removal and you don't have to wait long?

@@anthonymiller6081 Running is remarkably still off & on, I see the chronic pain physio at the hospital still. I am doing much more than 6 months ago but not as much as I'd like to be doing. Pad-wise, again I seemed to be a rare case & was pad free a month later! Something had to go my way 😀
@anthonymiller6081
@anthonymiller6081 11 месяцев назад
@@TheDeterminedRunner glad you didn't have to use pads for too long. That's a bonus for sure. I'm still not sure IF I have cancer or not and won't know until the biopsy is done. I'm hoping for the best of course. If I have to have my prostate removed my main concerns are obviously using pads, sex life afterwards, leakage and of course pain associated with surgery. All the information you've provided in your videos is extremely helpful and it prepares those who have to go what you experienced. How long has it been now since your surgery? Have you run any marathons since your surgery or any half marathons? I love the outdoors and jogging, exercising as much as my age and body allows.
@TheDeterminedRunner
@TheDeterminedRunner 11 месяцев назад
@@anthonymiller6081 It's been 25 months since surgery, sadly I've not been able to get back to marathon distance yet due to ongoing pain, though my firm plan is to get back to ultra distance in time. I do hope everything goes well for you with the results 👍
