Many people do not understand what a prosthetic eye is and how it functions, in fact it is not typically a glass eye and it is not a round ball. That is the implant that goes inside. Needing a fake or prosthetic eye can occur after injury or loss of vision with resultant pain and after eye surgeries such as enucleation and evisceration.
