I'm all for that. I've got an unstable feminist neighbor that is doing her best to put me in jail everytime I start my S10 and it never even gets above a 1000 rpm idle. I move it out of my garage into the driveway she starts screaming and threatening me. Triggered. There is no noise ordinance where I live, and it's far out of city limits. She lives 100 yards away. My truck is all street legal and not that loud. Cops told her to stay away from me. She's got the cops believing that I pushed her, and is doing her best to put me in jail. All because she thinks my S10 is too loud. She has singled me out among all the other noise, we live in a noisy neighborhood at the end of an airport runway. I envy the owner of this RU-vid website MrS10crazy.

LOL, to each his own. I'm just about ready to fire up my 440 Duster for the first time. When I was choosing and purchasing parts I went with a solid roller instead of a flat tappet cam and I went with it for more power but also so I would not have to do the 2000 RPM for a half hour cam/tappet break in ritual. For the exhuast I went with 3" with chambered style mufflers in the stock location and Dynomax race bullets as resonators in the tail pipes. All this to avoid disturbing neighbors.
Im from Portland Indiana. As im typing this your truck is running and i love it. Big cams and pushrods is where its at! Bad ass truck. Big cam loping. There is nothing more soothing than listening to american cam in block motors sounding nasty! My daily driver is a 97 buick 3800 series 2 with 538 lift 108lse cam. Its the family car that shakes and lopes and 4000lb its quick. No toyota can pull this big car to 60 in 6 and get 35 highway with big cam!! Or make mouth watering idle! Nice truck

BTW, nice truck. Whats it got under the hood, small block? How quick? I was considering building a V-8 S-10 or Ranger but I have long legs so the small cabs are uncomfortable and also I was worried about re-sale value, so I went with a common muscle car body style instead. An all aluminum LS motor in an S-10 would be an easy affordable way to a quick ride.
How many cylinders and what size you got in there? Also I have a 4 liter v6 in a 02 ford ranger super cab. Im wanting a lot more power than what it has right now. But do you think I even could without spending a serious amount of money on it just because it is so small? Is it even worth the time and effort with that truck? If not, what would you recommend me doing?
I remember when it was common to see these kind of vehicles on the streets,but not anymore,at least not where Iive,now all we see are cars with those annoying mufflers and guys think that makes it a hot rod,they aint got a clue.

In the late 60s we would push start my dads front engine A Gas Dragster 427 Rat with zoomies on our street. Every one would be interested and nobody ever got pissed. Tuning session would conclude and it was on to Niagara Drag Strip. Used to race Jim Oddy all the time. Never beat him but had a hell of a lot of fun trying.

well if you look at it in a racing point of view, you gain a lot of use. making a truck that is extremely small and light, gutting it, and building it for the track is quite awesome. I myself have a 1973 chevy camaro with a 660 ci fully blown engine setting under the hood. the car still has a purpose, to RACE. as does his s10.
How do they fair on the track though?. i personally wouldn't do this but I'm curious as to how one would run in a track scenario. I've seen some around my area and we call he lowlux's and most would be an absolute pain to live with and have horrid performance. But ones around here are just for looks which i personally don't see the point
I love it man! I have a 91 Reg Cab S10 Short bed. SBC 350, 431 Double Hump heads, Real mild cam. It's my race car, but I love it. 7.70 isn't very fast, but it runs the number every pass ;)

Was putting a hopped up 283 in my chevelle and the neighbor kept saying it was a pos and would never run. So, when I got it running I backed up to his front door at 6am and did a power brake until I couldn't see his house in my mirror. He was freaking PISSED for days after that. That my friend is how you piss of your neighbor in Texas!! If my chevelle was as bad as that truck, I'd made him so mad he would've had a heart attack
well obviously you wouldn't take a drag car driving through town, because yes, then it would have bad performance. because a drag car is meant for high speeds, in a straight line. a drag car isnt meant for sharp turns, or rough roads, or none of that stuff. when you build a drag car, like mine, the car only has one purpose, to fire up, roast the tires, run down the track at 200+ mph, then shut it off. and what do you mean by "horrid performance"?
My neighbors used to call and check on me if there wasn't fresh blackmarks in front of my mailbox.This guy's cool,and endangering noone,besides,racing at the track costs a lot of money.
