This is so heartbreaking and sickening, that some people put greed above compassion, whether it's puppy mills, kitten mills, factory farms and fur farms. In the end it's ALL abuse and needs to end. This is utterly shameful and an enormous stain on humanity. RESPECT ALL ANIMALS.

This is nothing short of reprehensible. I have had dogs my entire life, all rescued, all lived long, happy, wonderful lives. I have four now and will get more. Those who abuse animals should be locked in cages to die a slow, agonizing death. There is no excuse. Children who torment animals tend to escalate to humans and must be stopped. Anyone with a heart should rescue a pet from a shelter, particularly high-kill. You will experience gratitude as you have never known.

This is why we all need to donate so that they can be saved taken care of and placed them in a nice home. Even if it is only 10,20,25, dollars every penny counts.

Couldn't agree more. ALWAYS ask to go round for a visit first, and make sure you get to see both parents and where they all live. Of course, if you can then adopting is a lot better, but not everyone's circumstances can permit and thats okay

This is why I've been a faithful supporter of the HSUS..I've been donating for over a decade now and don't plan on stopping anytime soon! Pets are truly a blessing in life that too many take for granted IMHO. In all truth, at least you know when a pet loves you, it's uncondtional whereas with humans? There are ALWAYS conditions and that's pretty sick in my opinion. All they ask for is unconditional love and support in their lives. Is THAT so much to ask from them? I think not! Breeders make me effing sick, they really do! When my family adopted, we always adopted from shelters because those pets deserve a second chance and the rewards have been endless! We couldn't be happier! Not only did we rescue them but in a strange way, they rescued US too...it was two-fer deal and one we couldn't be happier with! Our rescue we've had for the past 4 years gets nothing but unconditional love and she gives it back EVERY DAY! :-)

We can thank AKC and others like them for the explosion in puppy mills. They don't care about the lives of the dogs, just the money they make from registrations. AKC makes every breeder DNA all their males but that didn't stop the puppy mills they just made up their own group to register their puppies. AKC should have limited the number of dogs a breeder could have. USDA is feckless when inspectors are paid off by the breeders. And don't even get me started on the Amish and their dog auctions. We here in Missouri voted to stop puppy mills and the damn republicans over turned a law voters passed! 35% to 40% of dogs dumped in shelters are purebreds, it's higher in areas with puppy mills.

Even though it's the exact same conditions applied as with factory farms, fur farms and other places, more sympathy will be given to these puppy and kitten mills because they are closer to humans than cows or wild animals. That's the unfortunate truth...

What has our society become? This is torture, same with hamster mills. never I mean NEVER support pet stores. You can buy supplies from them but never buy there pets, all the animals that they buy come from mills, pet stores don’t even know proper care for there animals, not one pet store has provide proper cages for there customers to buy for there pet. Stop buying dogs from ANYWHERE; I am sure puppy mills advertise themselves as reputable breeders all the time. (BTW, there are NO reputable breeders.)

That is not the only concern as puppies or even kittens that are shipped air freight of a cargo airliner for what I have personally experience back in 2004 was horrific as some of them don't make it while it was clear to see some were even ill - very few appears to be healthy?!? We would check all freight and shipping manifests that comes through as we also document US Customs paperwork that we turn in to them on a daily basis... I don't know if The Humane Society is aware of this? If not then now you are informed!?!

Sorry, I just fell apart and couldn't finish previous comment. I have been doing donations as much as I can, but my biggest hope is that stringent rules be applied by the states, making licences and inspections necessary to sell commercially bred dogs. Politicians excuse themselves, "we have so much going on, we can't think about animals right now". My attitude is, if they cant set up a department for licensing and monthly inspections, they shouldn't be in office. I would like to know....how many people would assist in not only donating money, but TIME even if volunteered to inspect, shit down, license etc. To prevent such atrocities?
