In this video I’m sharing how I do my protein treatment. Eggs have been used as home-made protein treatments for centuries, but some sources have said that Egg proteins cannot penetrate the hair strands to strengthen the hair from the inside because they are too large to do so. Only hydrolyzed protein which means protein that has been broken down further can penetrate the hair shaft. So using raw egg is like a temporary fix. It strengthens the hair on the outside, but its effects wear off more quickly in the days following compared to that of a hydrolyzed protein treatment which penetrates the hair strands and strengthens it from the inside out. There are a couple of products you can use for your protein treatment. You can look out for hydrolyzed protein in the ingredient list if you’re getting a protein treatment. But if you still want to use the egg one thing you should keep in mind, it strengthens the hair strands only on the outside. Nevertheless, eggs have some other nutrients it lends to the hair so you might be ripping those benefits as well. I will be trying a store- bought protein treatment in another video. I’ve looked at some options and would love to see the difference in results. My protein treatment is done at 6 to 8 weeks interval.
