PROTEST ERUPTS AGAIN IN ST JOSEPH'S UNIV AS MANAGEMENT FAILED TO FULLFIL STUDENTS' DEMAND 

I'm an alumni of this university and i strongly stand with the students demands.

I joined here as asst prof in physics department. And i resigned after 3 monthe because they (the administration) infringe upon the rights of every student and faculty. I'm an IITian and has cleared 3 national level exams in physics multiple times. I was fortunate enough to be educated in one of the best institute in india and I wanted to give back to my people so I decided to join this institute and teach here for atleast a year. But the administration is so corrputed that I couldnt bear it. After resigning I've done well for myself after that but i feel pity for those who are still there. Especially the students because the administration does not care about their future. And also they have no regard for faculties who desire to learn more so that they can provide the best for their students. Unpaid leave to attend faculty development programme at IIT Delhi secured by one of the faculties here was denied (that too after the end of semester). While south Indian senior faculties were granted leave to go home while those of us who wanted to learn from the top scientists of our country so that we can give back to the students were not allowed unpaid leave.

I'm an alumni of this University and with my experience I saw this coming... so proud of the current student leaders for having this guts and standing for the rights of all the students of the university hoping for a change And to all those commenting 'focus on your studies' Dude you better not comment, you only know the cover of the book and not the story that the book contains. Thankyou

Support the students movement of SJU. The corporate-privatised institution is killing education in our state. Worst of all, SJU-Tetso-ICFAi is the "Bermuda Traingle" where students/teachers are victims of injustices, exploitation and suffocation. Long live the Students- Teachers struggle. If they take action against you there will be bigger resistance. (Btw, I taught in Tetso, Icfai and in SJU some very close colleagues). Hence, the experience says it all.

To those people commenting “focus on your studies” I’m sure you guys have never been outside of the Northeast and have no idea how universities are. A university should not function like high school, it should treat the students as adults and being able to take responsibilities for their actions. Certain amount of freedom should be given to them to allow them to express themselves. If you try to curb their every movement, they’ll never be able to grow and think out of the box. In fact being a university, there shouldn’t even be uniforms which restricts their freedom of expression. Labelling them as “politicians” just for protesting and demanding their rights is a very narrow thinking. Step outside of the northeast and you’ll know what a university should be like. This so-called university(SJU) is a just high school in disguise.

Unneccessary strictness & kanjusi by these fathers and sisters need to stop.

Success and achievement does not only come by holding our grades and staying inside four walls to earn our livelihood, some are interested in different fields so the the students are asking for council powers to make the things right and develop.

Those people who have never attended college in life should refrain from commenting hogwash.. The issues of the students here are very genuine to be heard.

Right of freedom for everyone shud not suppressed by anyone in our nagaland state. Full support for students affairs.

During corona lockdown SJU Political science Association played a great role when professor's weren't payed salary for months when fees were already collected from students. Pol. sc Ass. even wrote to higher catholic association. While Students Council were not that active during that time. So its not about Politics or something. Students body must not have influence from university's aurhority in order to rightfully fight for rights.

All students cannot become a booky officer *gloryezung We need all round development which is needed for developing skills. A person who is good at sports cannot become a footballer by just studying or practicing on that muddy ground

An alumni here too. Studying out of Nagaland for graduate program and studying at this uni for Masters. Felt like i went back to high school. Not because of wearing uniform but every aspect of students and lecturers rights are infringed. This pertaining issues has been since inception of the university during 2016. Some of the students (alumni) has been keeping in close status with the current batches of how they are functioning where there is no change in system for good. They elect students who could be lap dog of the authorities there ,where they find all means to curb the students and lecturers aspirations, interest and promotability. Lecturers are not paid well ,there was a time during lockdown when they went unpaid for more then 6months. Student body had been defunct for a year, where they was no proper module of grievances to be poured to. The situation in this University is grievous that many of our students think that the Jesuit authorities doesnt live up to their standards and ideals.

They called all the CR's n ACR's for meeting.. but . didn't allow students to speak also . Not even 1 word . Gege Dean.. mr .king of Excuse 😂💔.

When democratic right is exercise by any citizens they should not become a target. Classroom grade is not enough to make a meaningful society. Giving the chance to exercise political rights meaningfully is the fundamental rights....

Sad but true is that private management and owners take advantage of the students and teachers as well and unless there are strong student body then the exploitations will go on.What I earn in two months,these same colleagues in private institutions earn in one year,less too.

Not in Favour of the university management nor students body. But just sharing my point of view, Yes! Education is the most important thing. But One day you'll passed out from the university, and your post as President etc. would expire. However on the other hand, electing the right candidate to form Students union is important to lead students for betterment. The right candidate might become a good students leader someday in future...

Anyone who has not been a part of SJu dimapur should keep your mouth shut. I taught her and resigned after 3 months becausr of all the corruption that exist in the administration.

The students have a strong argument and I'm sure most of us agree with their demands, but they should do themselves a favour and recruit good English orators & set-up a PR team to deal with the press. Shouldn't leave any room for semantic errors and articulate themselves properly if they are really willing to LEGALLY challenge the institution.

As an alumni of this university I support the students. I feel like the admistrators are focusing more on the wealth rather than students' and teachers' well being and interest for good.

What the students are demanding is their legal right . One must provide a good platform for the candidates to share their motto, ajenda and aims. So that they can elect a responsible candidates. I hope the esteeme authority's of the university will look into this matter and do justice to the students.

I'm a alumni 😂 this university is a comedy They should change the name ST Joseph .... they r doing Business in the name of God it's a Pure Business I regret studying there... the information we get is so sudden and the late fine is 300 per days Another comedy is even to take admit card we hv to visit 9 to 10 office and hv to wait for 2 to 3 hrs They should learn from FAC tr it's all department works no need to go here n there Attendance tho gg so strict 😂 But low and order is Rusted

In a positive way I would say “ re - election as in re- votes only “ because there were many students who couldn’t vote that day due to the 1st protest . I don’t think there’s a need to re-elect the members again who were not reaching the criteria.

Student's union or Council is very important for the welfare of the students. Even if they are given to form the union or the Council, it does not mean that they will over rule the authority of the university. The university management cannot act as a dictator, those days are gone. It's a democracy, so the students should be given to speak out their grievances through the elected leaders.

If you haven't done i would suggest you to shoot letter to NSF, ANCSU, DNSU etc take their help too it might be of some help

Im not a part of st joseph university neither am i an alumni but i stand with the student sibce their demands are professional. It all starts from grassroot level regarding an electing a student. I hope the public and the alumni should all give a helping hand. And i hope the NSF would take an initiative at tgese trying time. God bless

Unemployment level is actually skyhigh in Nagaland. Focus , think and work out on this vital area. Once you graduate, you wont even remember anything as petty issues as this. Trust in the Lord and he will accomplish your plans .

As an alumni of this University, i totally hate st.Joseph university. I have also heard from some of my lecturers who were close enough to me aand share their struggles and problems that seems corrupt and wrong in the university. So for those who didn't studied here, just imagine when the lecturers themself hates the system of the university then why not the students. I studied in this university for 2 years and it's torturous given the facilities, rules and the way the university runs its system.

Better look for other colleges after the completion of current academic session. Time is precious, so don't waste your time.

I believe the students are only only fighting for their rights. Ignorant people who don't see the wrong in the system and have adjusted to it need not putdowns these youngsters. I know that things should not have escalated to this and it probably looks unpleasant but keeping shut will bring in more outrage in the upcoming generation. If there is a little extra from the students side we should advise them in a proper manner instesd of mocking them. So far i don't see anything wrong in the protest Just like we need opposition to question the party in power. In the same way they need these student unions. The administration trying to control clearly shows something is shady / sketchy in their dealing. Also we need our youngester to experience in all these activities so that in the future we don't have incompetent people running the state

Good steong leadership is good. On the otherhand unnecessary stduents union just hampers and interferes the University's curriculum and administration. Or should students become administrators of the university?

There is a crystal lapses in management authorities in this university. Yes they are students and should not behave like hardcore politicians but to represent their grievances and needs there should be an open free fair and cheerful election for students body.. The management authorities should safeguard them instead of ready made which is clearly against the voice the students.
