Protests continued yesterday and into last night across the country as curfews were also enforced in several major cities. George Floyd’s brother, Terrence, visited the site that George was arrested at and called for peace as well as for people to use their voting rights to create change. I love Shannon and he’s mostly on point but he has been misinforming people on the Boston tea party. I am from Mass and learned about this my whole life. They were dumping the tax free tea made in Britain that was being imported because goods made by the colonists were being taxed and thus were being undercut the UK. This is much different than a citizen of a city burning down a building owned by another citizen of their own community. It would be one thing if we were destroying buildings owned by Chinese nationals who weren’t being taxed. A more appropriate comparison would perhaps be the Boston Massacre where British police/soldiers gunned down unarmed colonists that they were oppressing. It’s wildly irresponsible for Shannon sharpe to excuse rioting and looting that would NEVER reach his neighborhood. One love

We had a high profile individual(Colin) protesting this injustice at a grass root level. What happened? It is not about the looting, it's not about the riots. @@lawrence1taylor Innocent ppl died from the cops all the time and there is no outraged in that. Keep the same energy. If it was your family on camera being murdered by the police or even yourself knowing you will die you would have a different outlook. A homie of mine actually reopening his uncle case who was murdered by police in 1995 because he had a seziure. No justice in that still till this day and he died from suffocation by the hands of the police.

@@mrlobomau The cop should've been locked up years ago. He had 12 complaints in the 20 years he worked. We need to see if he will serve alot of time. Its possible he could get off like other cops did.

@@letstalkwithpatrickpodcast I'll be honest I don't have the answer to all these problems that plague us in this world, only God does. I grew up in Mexico and cops treat you a lot worst than here if you do something wrong. I'll tell what I've noticed no matter where you find yourself it's all about classes. If you are a politician, a rich person or in some cases work in government you get treated different. I wish that wasn't the case but I don't think that will never happen. I thank God for giving me the opportunity to move over here I am just glad to be where I am at and I will try to do what I can to at least make my community better.

@@gptsiteuser Man, there's a lot of white people doing this vile behavior too. I live in Little Rock Arkansas and I seen several youths of different races try to break into a bank on TV! They're young and don't understand the gravity of these choices. This entire situation is just bad. I do feel awful for those peaceful protesters and as a white man, I know the difference between these two groups. We need an open line of communication between us and relate on a personal level.

Ive supported the President the last few years (given the policies about business and the economy) but the way he has handled these protests and riots are absolutely horrendous. He could have lead the nation by addressing the underlying issue and talk about some real changes that could be implemented but he chose to try to rule over society by acting like a dictator. It seems he’s lost my vote for the upcoming election.

how do you support his polices? everything is just a give away to the rich from tax cuts to deregulation. During this virus the government gave trillions to large corporations and did almost nothing for ordinary Americans and trump doesnt say anything. As a white male, I struggle with some things. Obviously, the actions of the police officer(s) were inexcusable and they deserve jail time. However, I have difficulty supporting the reaction of violence/looting and have difficulty understanding what this is supposed to accomplish. A number of questions run through my brain as well. 1. Can we definitively prove the police officer acted differently toward George Floyd because he was black? Would the outcome have been the same if Mr. Floyd were white, hispanic, or asain? 2. Would the media coverage and public outrage been the same had the police officer(s) been black? I think the media plays a big role in this as well. If we're only showing widespread coverage of white police officers acting unjustly toward black males, I can't blame the African American community for always feeling like they're only being targeted. However, are we really so oblivious to think this hasn't happened to people of other ethnicities?

This situation is very different because we can see a 9 minute video of a man dying. We have become numb to quick shootings due to movies and other violent media (and believe me, I love my GTA V and COD). But to see a man for 7 minutes say he cannot breathe, call for his mother, and stop responding is different. We see a man fading away in front of our eyes. It hits us different... close your eyes and say "I can't breathe for 6.5 to 7 minutes" and then sit silent for 2-3 minutes... that put it into perspective and that changes people.
