Demonstrators harass and follow Global News reporter Kamil Karamali and his cameraman near the Pacific Highway border crossing in Surrey, British Columbia on Saturday.
One person spits on the car, which is unmarked. At least one other person hits the vehicle. The two men get out with the help of police.
Karamali says "we made genuine attempts to speak to protesters and tell their stories", and that some participants had meaningful discussions with the crew, but he added that most had already made up their minds and weren't interested in any dialogue.
The Serious Crimes Branch of the RCMP (Royal Canadian Mounted Police) has opened an investigation into this swarming incident and others that were directed at members of the press on Saturday.
Sergeant Elenore Sturko says the incidents will be fully investigated and could lead to arrests or charges.
