@@merhy5509 that’s amazing! Congratulations! We’re really flattered at your kind words and proud to have played some small role, but as you know, the whole point of this video is that that’s all your hard work. Plenty of people watched those videos and didn’t win a state championship. Great work, champ!
Are you guys taking on more mentees? I’m a small school debater (and I’m just a little debate obsessed). I’ve been trying to grow by myself but it’s been hard with little resources. After I got a scholarship to a debate camp I kind of realized that coaching is a must for someone like me in the next season since instruction on where to improve is invaluable.
Hey! This is a great question. Paul and I both work/coach full time. Paul is a full time professor at Diablo Valley College in California, I’m the Director of Curriculum for a non-profit in New York called the Brooklyn Debate League. We don’t really have the bandwidth to do direct coaching outside of our jobs. WITH THAT SAID, the goal of having this channel is to be able to provide the resources you’re talking about to as many people as we possibly can. It’s not a perfect solution for providing access to coaching, but Paul and I are always working to figure out what else we could be doing. One thing that’s always helpful for us is knowing what content people want to see. Our videos have been up for years now and will be up years in the future. Any question you have, others have to, and will continue to have in the future. Please feel free to comment on any of our videos or reach out to us by email (proteusdebate@gmail.com) with anything you’re trying to improve at in debate. We’ll either point you to a video we’ve already made that we think will help, or try to find the time to make new content to address the question.
