holy shit this brings back memories. when i was 4-6 I would play this game every day on my dads ps3, recently we found the ps3 and I got to play this again... beautiful fricking game 11/10 it's so stylized and amazing, I don't want a remake it's perfect the way it is!
i don't know why but there's something so emotional about the ending of the game. there's nothing to be sad about like loosing a character in a story, but something about the dark, cold atmosphere, and the sad music, it gives this feeling of lost hope. when we started rising up into the air and closed our eyes slowly i was on the verge of tears, i didn't want it to all end. this game is super good at capturing emotions, i love all the little secrets you can find, and i wish it was talked about more.
the waterfall theme in this game is so odd to me in the way it evokes an emotion of feeling lost at sea yet at the same time almost gives me a comfort feeling like it's all going to be okay
I remember months ago, i smoked a joint before to play this game, with my headphones, at night. It was an amazing experience until i went to the winter. I can't explain how i felt, but it was terrifying. I couldn't handle it and i left the game. The atmosphere of this game is kind of magic, but some events are really creepy.
I recently re-played this in VR with ReShade (using xbox controller to move around.) it was magical, with a few hair-raising moments I hadn't discovered previously. This Game! really makes you question: "what 'season' of life are you in now? did you explore what was there one season and gone the next?"
I gotta say, I wouldn't have found this hidden jewel of a game years ago if I haven't seen that NerdCubed video. It's an understatement how this game, and a lot more so the sounds and songs in it, were part of a blissful time. Also, I can't be the only one utterly terrified of those statue cult circle things at the top of some mountains right? (ps: My favorite part of this ost is the rise to the mountains when all the noise down there gets farther and it's serene with winds and that "Ooooh-Weeee" sound i can't describe perfectly in words)
i bought the game just to support the makers and sound designers, havent played it yet haha, but amazing soundtrack, definetely inspiring me to write moh tunes. nice one Kanga and team
Proteus Ending music sounds like inspired by Far East family band - entering\ times . Artist same as Kitaro is as a game ... a musical Experience ! definitely recommend to have a go at it !
