Proton & Deuterium Induced Nuclear Reactions 

Protons can readily be accelerated in a particle accelerator and a variety of nuclear reactions have been studied using protons as projectiles. Deuterium, because of its low binding energy, is particularly interesting, especially in the context of energy generation in the Sun.
