I really appreciate your attention to detail on your holsters. I'm really looking forward to your upgrade design to the charge to fit the bit extender as well as the 711L and extra bit storage.
Appreciate how thoughtful your process has been and cannot *wait* to toss my stock sheath for this thing. Take all the time you need, man. This looks fantastic.
This is an awesome holster, I love the attention to detail on the snap action / sound. Worlds most compact toolbox. PS: Thanks for plugging our product in the description, saw some orders come through from this.
These are absolutely some of the best 3d printed sheaths I’ve ever seen! Great work might have to try one. I’m more of a leather guy myself but these are slick
Oh, having the same option able to hold either form of bit-driver is a great change. I was actually going to delay my purchase because I wasn't sure if I could get a ratchet driver or not, this completely obviates that issue.
I just ordered a Leatherman ARC holster armor pocket clip one with side clips for the bit extender or the ratchet I have the bit extender right now but will order the ratchet for the arc can't wait to try it out and see how well it works hope it hold up for every day carry
Just finished the video and am excited to receive mine but I have a question: can we get a horizontal carry variant with holes for a third party clip? I'd prefer to carry it at the back of the belt but want a way to take it off and put it on without removing my belt every time I get in the car.
Soon. I need to stop a back fill features back down the line. It just takes a lot of time, pretty much a whole day per tool to update files, renderings, prices, etc…
Amazing. This is the holster that I've always wanted. It holds everything, even the 711L! Will you ever update the Wave+ or Charge holsters with these features?
Thats a solid work of art. I was debating for days if I was going to get the ratchet or extender mod and now I don't have to worry about it. I do like the bit holders for leatherman specific mod, however a lot of people use the wiha double end bits with the ratchets. Would it be possible to get some on the back? I know you couldn't do another but maybe 5, for everyday use would maybe excite people. I've used both bit if I'm cranking out work I usually do the double side 1/4in bits.
Hello sir.yes I plan on ordering one of those awesome sheath carriers, under the 1711 ratchet,is that a bolt meter tension spot,if so,will that version when ready be available an what's the pricing, which I would mind paying whatever, cause it looks well made an won't lose my Arc or bits, was thinking of a smaller light to go with my porch untill I saw your video an sheaths.i may just get some olight pocket light to compliment my tools for edc, bravo on your sheaths brother,ty for making these,I'm curious on how it would look with the surge setup with a spot for its bosh blades an not extender an also the 711 ratchet,ty,hope to see more content
Question about the Barnacle bit holder. How tightly does it hold the bit? I only ask this because I am constantly flicking the pliers open. I use it as a fidget toy haha. Will the bit fly out, or not? Thank you in advance!
Hello there, new viewer here. Have you thought about making a version of the holster (3rd party clip compatible) that instead of the Ratchet/Extender Grip has another 711L/bit holder side? That way it will be slimmer and it will allow me to carry the 711L and 11 additional bits? And that potentially can fix the blade popping out issue?
Since i got my arc the thing i miss the most is the gut hook and old claw looking can opener!!! Maybe parts for the near futur... the gut hook i use it to open carefully plastic packaging and tie strips and the claw can opener i used it to get dirt out of my nails 😂.
This is sick. Only thing I don’t like is having to buy that specific mini ratchet, or find as different way to carry what I already own. Not a deal breaker though. I’ll be following this and likely order one some time down the line.
@@LightsOutPredatorRemoval Yes, but you purchase the clip of your choice yourself. Select "Third party compatible" and the info shows up on the text page, including the recommended clip. Message me on the website with your order number and I can change the part. (Use contact me, or press the "?" in the corner)
Nice work man like the design ,do you only sell through shapeways or do you put the files online at all for people to test or remix,or even sell obj/stl for less ? Just im into designing nd tinkering on 3dmodels myself and not sure which way I'd like to wear it and i have a resin printer and some tough resins aswell as fdm with some tpu I'd like to try it with to see how they hold up,atleast to try before having it done in stronger materials from shapeways maybe, also spending too much money already on an arc atm right now plus trying to justify the resin I bought haha😂
I sell through Shapeways or ZapWizard.com (Made by Shapeways with a pretty face). I don’t sell my files, they are not designed for FDM at-home 3D printing, just SLS. A resin SLA printer with a nylon like substance maybe could. But I don’t share my files anyways just to the copy cats a step behind.
Will you be making a holster for the Roxon Flex? I would imagine it wouldn't be impossible since, to my knowledge, the Flex doesn't have any outside protruding tools. Although the locking mechanism would be different, you might get even more purchases because of the lower entey price for the Flex.
@@ZapWizard Thank you! I will be getting one soon. I am in the process of saving for one. Not sure if I can get it before Christmas but if not I will asap in the New year. One question I have is what is the third party clip for the arc holster?
@@davidmckenzie4700It is basically too late to guarantee any delivery before Christmas now. (Unless your local post office is fast). The Third-Party-Clip version is compatible with a variety of off the shelf metal and plastic clips. There are details and recommended clips on the product page that show when you have "Third party" selected.
I have seen a few people switch the blade side for left handed operation, I cannot think of a way the Arc would still fit in the holster with the blade retention. Am I correct and it would it need to be a clean sheet design for left handed holster and blade orientation or is there a way to make this holster work with a swapped blade?
I went to pick one of these up, and the shipping was almost as much as the product (I live in Thailand). Do you know if Shapeways ever offer discounts on shipping?
Lots of time in CAD. I use Solid Edge which allows for much more tweaking and sculpting of the solid model without the restrictions of a history based modeling. I also make all the features as modular bodies I can add/remove as needed. All around an accurate CAD model of each tool.
Zap do you happen to know if anyone carries the Leatherman ratchet? The only ones I see are people selling them for an outrageous markup on eBay ($300). I’d be fine with an aftermarket version made by a different company if it’s the same fit in the holster!
Nope. The material is Nylon 12 and won’t scratch the tool. Now by default the face to the tool is exposed and so it can get scratched from the outside world, I am working on a version with a closed face for those looking for that option.
Yes, the Barnacle bit works with either the ARC or P4 and any of my holsters. The Barnacle has to be mounted on the outside away from your belt. The ARC should fit into your P4 holster already, but the upcoming holster will have a perfect fit and the 711L slot. Note the ARC holster will also fit the FREE P4.
@ZapWizard that's great news love your work I bought all your accessories to make my p4 the way it should have been I will now be ordering the barnacle and holster thanks
@@ZapWizard oh okay, I thought it stuck out further, I guess I don't notice it cause I've had your scalpel mod on my P4 since day one. So I have no concept of how much it sticks out
Currently the same as the garage 005: $58. That may change once I have the final cad file and calculate the profit margin, but it won’t change by much if any.
The "Full armor" and "Pocket Clip" are two different variants. The "Pocket clip" version is needed for either the Pocket Clip or Barnacle Bit holder. The Full version is only compatible with the lanyard loop.
@@ZapWizard Thanks for the reply. Does the extended bit holder work with the leatherman sight adjuster bit driver extender? I remember in another video you mentioned a newly designed detent on the holder.
@@ZapWizard. Yeah of course but I was referring to the detent on the three rings of the original bit extender vs the two rings on the sight extender which is positioned a bit lower.
i saw someone mention this before, it looks interesting. I think i am going to stick with the sheath the arc comes with though, i like how it covers the whole tool
I hate my Arc sheath. The tool sits low, making it difficult to grab and pull out. And the flap is way too long. Theres a bunch of empty space above the tool when closed. It seems to have been designed for a bigger tool, or I got a bad one.
God it's such a shame that I need to move my pocket clip to the other side for this to work. I know to some people, it might not be such a big of a deal, but as someone that carries the arc without a pocket knife (many times in my pocket), it's too much of an inconvenience to grab it out of my pocket and flip it to use the blade every time. This seems like it's the perfect holder for the arc, I'm torn..
@@alexjeon5863 if the clip stays then there simply isn’t room for the holster pocket loop, or the holster gets 1/4” bigger (which costs more too). Docking the blade facing your body ends up turning the tool around for most people.
@@rpor984 I will be updating the surge holsters soon. It was too expensive to prototype earlier, but with my own production I can make multiple prototypes faster and cheaper.
@ZapWizard yeah I saw on your site. Thanks friend. Hey quick question. Do you need/want/must have a patent for your designs? Have you got a job offer from LTG?? ;)) I've seen similar slide in options before so was also curious what drives your decision to have face open vs full enclosure with some openings to push tool out?
@ZapWizard i didnt like the empty holes (esthetically) so on my arc i installed a lanyard loop (originally sold for free p4) the other side still has original pocket clip. Now i wonder if my set up will fit your holster. Or hard to tell without physical test. Thanks for your time replying to my crazy thoughts😂
It literally can't be much thinner unless you have a thinner tool. I do sell a slim version which removes the side features and just holds the tool and bits.
