Thorough review Nathan . All performance aside the cost of the unit and generator Makes Rob's battery unit look very affordable. And thank you for showing putting the facemask filter! I can not believe the number of OA videos I've seen lately from some Hive Life participants not using eye protection or even goggles! "Well we are upwind" comments is putting new beekeepers at risk. The number of times we have had caps blow off... Anyways, merry Christmas and a happy New Years to you and yours. For unto us a Child is born
Let's start by stating, I'm an outlaw. Ok, that's out of the way now. I'm happy, and a bit surprised, that you received good customer service from Larry. Maybe he remembered you and that you are a RU-vid creator. But glad you got the from him (plus, you're really just a very good guy, so there's that). That's a nice unit, and while I'm not a huge oxi-vap fan, his equipment is pretty solid and frankly he was the only reputable U.S. source for quite some time. My pro-vap is still kicking, so I'll be an oxi-vap guy until I can't reasonably repair it anymore. Thanks for sharing and Merry Christmas to you all!! Thanks for the card Nathan!!
Nathan, Another great video! If anybody doubts you are from TN they just need to listen to you say tuuube at 2:42 and all doubts will be disappear. Regarding not being an "early adopter" we had a saying at work..."its ok to be on the leading edge, but not the bleeding edge". I plan to get me a InstaVap soon with Dewalt Batteries but I only have 12 hives...getting tired of dragging out the chord and filling the cups repeatedly for summer treatments. Thanks again for a great well thought out video.
I just received the newest sublimator ProVap Rapid 18 for testing. It is a sublimator with a battery that is very fast. Much better than previous versions. It is one and a half times faster than the previous version. I recommend it to you, you will be very satisfied with it. Hello
Your comments are right on point with my experience using the Pro Vap EZ 110. If you are looking for a case to carry it in your truck, you might try looking in a military surplus store and try a motar storage tube or similar munitions tube. You might try Sgt. Troy's Military Store in Lawrenceburg the next time you make a trip to Albert Zook's place. He gave me a really nice deal on some ammo cans several years ago.
I moved to quick books this year, but I’m not really tracking inventory in it yet. I do have some spreadsheets I made with equipment counts and things. Bottles are really my most critical inventory because I can’t sell honey without them…I’m keeping 6 month to a year of bottles on hand. Since Covid they’ve been hard to get at times.
Hi Linda, I licensed it through Epidemic sound. The artist on both those is named Martin Klem. Not sure if he’s done any recordings or not, but I love his stuff.
Nathan, good pointers and review. Your gun case idea could work if you make one end heat resistant with fiberglass or silicon?? Have a wonderful Christmas with your family and hope to see you at Hive LIfe.
I don’t think it matters that much, but brood nest is usually closer to the entrance. I know some do drill holes higher up to insert OA. I see vapor coming out the top when vaporizing from the bottom so I think there’s good coverage regardless.
I have 30 and I went and got the battery vape from robbies I got tired of the generator and cords the price was high but I tell u what the battery pack vape is really sweet i am very glad I got it. have u tryied the extended release oa yet and when u do your 3 day treatments do u do them when u pull your suppers hope u have a Happy New Year
Thank you for this, I watch all of your stuff and have seen your older videos since hive live on this product. Just trying to get more feedback before making an investment. Keep up the good work. My Johno’s takes me way too much time with the silicon caps and reheat time.
It’s a good unit, and I think it’ll be reliable. The instavap with Dewalt batteries would be super small and convenient, but I don’t know how trouble free it’ll be over a lot of use. Another year or two on the market should answer that.
@@DuckRiverHoney exactly, I do drink the coolaide on lithium ion, and like the robust tube compared to the copper tube on John o’s. I appreciate you making this content, I’m still unsure what direction I will go, but oav is my most inefficient activity, and I am trying to be as efficient as possible as a sideliner looking to expand to pollinating/different out yards. One question, you are lucky you don’t have bears, but I learned the hard way about mouse guards, do you just let them roll with the reducer? It isn’t often but when it happened once I swore off letting mice destroy a good queen/colony.
Hey Nathan, I was wondering if you could use 4" galvanized dryer vent pipe with a cap on one end? Lowes and Home Depot carry these in 2 foot and 5 foot lengths.
I am shocked that with your skill level, you have not fabricated a metal box or at least a wooden box with a metal liner to protect the wood. Strap on an old rifle sling and you are good to go.
Dick, that’s a nuc wintering on top of a big hive using a double screen board. I’ll find out later this week if the smaller nucs survived the cold snap.
