This sermon is titled PROVE ALL THINGS (PART 1) preached by John Shannon Sr. at the James Road Church of Christ located at 2400 James Rd in Memphis TN 38127; Contact: 901-357-9090
To stay in the race You have to get out of the Law of Moses. Romans 15:8 King James version. You have to stay in the new testament of Jesus Acts 2-Revelation 22 Acts 2:42 2 John 9-11 verses John 7:16 John 6:38. When will people ever rightly divide Gods word correctly????? 2 Timothy 2:15
All right now preacher make it plain as I have to do a/c work at this baptist joint. Gotta run a hose from baptistry to clean heat pump. Now why do Baptists even have a baptistery if they are saved by their faith alone? Sure “ outter sign of inward….
And this preacher just copies what denominational preachers say. Along with their hymnals. 99% are songs written by ppl from other denominations. Hypocrites!
You can literally follow along with the scriptures he has listed from the Bible. As far as the songs from the hymns go... If a song is talking about praising Jesus and being happy that he died for you and me we shouldn't sing it because a denominational person wrote it? This goes back to the point he's preaching on... prove all things, hold fast to that which is good! The song isnt bad because a denominational person wrote it. But you do need to PROVE that it matches with scripture before singing it. If it doesnt, we dont sing it because its contrary to his word. Now even though we sing those songs that doesn't neglect us from teaching the truth to the person that wrote it. If we seen the writers we would STILL try to bring them to Christ. Writing good songs about the Lord doesnt save you
@@MrCantfindanynamesI too struggle with singing denominational songs. I spent most of my life in denominations, and to be converted to Jesus, to find the true church of Jesus eventually has been quite a journey. I could never adequately express my gratitude to the Lord. It grieves me when Christians sing songs written by individuals who are or were, until their death, against the true gospel, who never found the truth. How can we show someone from a denomination their errors and how eternally significant those errors are, then sabotage our endeavour by singing their songs? However the aspect that grieves me most is when I consider how it would grieve the Lord. If we seek to worship God Biblically, would we not realise that the early Christians would not use a ‘ Hymn Book’ written by the Samaritans, for example, would they? And I cannot but remember Aaron’s sons who offered unauthorised fire in worship. God clearly showed that this was unacceptable to Him🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
