Sweet $50K Porch. Love the steel roof. I have been inspired to move my bird bath to a different spot. :) Got some stones around the base for style.

Hi That is a beautiful wall!! Id like to ask, are those moist burlap sacks you put on the complete parts?? Does it help the mortar cure?

What is your mortar and do you add a latex bonding agent to it like Acryl 60 to make it more workable?

Here in n.c, we use 2 shovels masonry sand, one shovel Portland cement type I/II. No bonding agent is needed except for the Portland. I make what we call a slurry. I take a trowel of dry Portland, put in a bucket then add water till it's a paste. I lightly wet my stone then paint it with the paste before I set it in the bed joint. The glue that bonds..
