Me desagrada ver como a menudo la gente con la escusa de hacer una "cafe racer" utiliza magnificas motos y las destrozan empeorandolas para convertirlas en motos que al final nadie quiere usar. Sin embargo tu has hecho un gran trabajo mejorando una bonita moto. Enhorabuena.
I owned this exact bike over 40 years ago, it was even the same color blue. I was in high school and this was my first street bike. I had a lot of fun on that bike it was just the right size for me back then. Watching that beautiful restoration almost brought tears to my eyes, I wish I still had that bike but some moron in a car pulled out in front of me and that was the end of my first and favorite ride.
I believe that only bikes that are too far gone should be messed with. When they are totally original like this one,it should remain original. What a sweetie it was!!!
Stevie G , I agree with you but this guy didn’t chop the frame or anything else too drastic so this bike could in the future be put back to original relatively easily . I hate to see bikes butchered that would cost thousands to put back to standard . Well done to this guy .

Exactly, I've owned two of these, that was a standard clean and paint with some new pistons, didn't even replace that dreadful governor and points system. And the tape over the pitted upper stanchions was pure cheese bodge.
What exactly makes this a “café racer”? Black rims? Stop using the term Cafe Racer just because a bike is modified. Clip-ons, rear-sets, long road race tank, short hump back seat, megaphones... that’s a Café Racer.

So basically.. A 550four rebuild, no changes to chassis or geometry. Its NOT a cafe racer! I had one of these for 18years and it went through many rebuilds and changes but would never post it as a "Cafe Racer Build" " Waste of time.
That's not a restoration. That's a bike that was already correct. Did you strip the tank which was miraculously free of dents on a super clean bike, and changed the seat and handlebars. Hacks.

Se le puede llamar de diferentes formas. De hecho no es café racer ni una restauración completa mente original. Se modificaron algunas cosas a gusto del cliente y quedó hermosa y funcional. Saludos

I'm really happy that you didn't take that cherry, stock old Honda and butcher it. We need to he careful though to preserve rides like this, especially if they are stock and in such great shape. There will soon come a day when they won't be around any longer in stock trim. If nothing else, consider them investments. Soon that original bike will be worth 10's of thousands of dollars, and even the modifications you made, though tasteful just destroyed its value. Stripping good original paint is like refinishing an old Chippendale desk.

Watching this my guess is you either used the old rings or you put one or more of the oil scraper rings in upside down. Too much exhaust smoke for a rebuild.
