Tis a thing of beauty. Even if 11 Doesnt operate at the same Bpiler PSI 1361 runs at, you can still hear those spine chilling chords hidden in the sound of the whistle. Its an amazing piece of engineering
Indeed, sure was a treat. Wish the echoing off the valley walls at places such as NPC paper came out better, but still an experience I'm glad I didn't miss
@@6777Productions the group that owns 3985 now should loan out her whistle to be put on different locomotives’s that way they could raise money for her rebuild! That’s my take on it it would be so awesome to hear her voice once again! She has been silent since 2010!
My great great grandfather was an engineer for the Pennsylvania railroad, and during his career got to drive 1361 when she was in revenue service for the PRR ones she is restored I will be making a trip to Pennsylvania with my grandmother
We'll welcome you with open arms. It sure is a great place with plenty of history and new things to discover. Maybe it we're lucky they'll find a way to let 1309 come on down to the Everett as well

Aawwww man, I was in town that day but was due to leave that day to return home after finishing my first year of college. While she was getting ready for that excursion, I was packing up my room and later on driving out back home. I do would have loved to witness listening to 1361’s whistle in person. I hope they do another event like that while I’m in town next semester. I gotta say though, that whistle sounds so much better and more PRR like that it used to be back in 1987. Looks like they’ve really worked hard on it
That also might be the fact that 1309 was larger and Everett Railroad 11 is smaller than 1361. I think it would sound just right if it was mounted on a Pacific Locomotive and wouldn’t it be great if it was taken to Florida to be used on US sugar 148
@@amtrak_121 I think it’s a great idea to see if US sugar would be interested of using 1361’s whistle and as far as I know, or perhaps the little river railroad 110 in the state of Michigan

@@chooch1764 very true! To stay true to her original design the FRA approved a brand new Belle Plaine firebox for her! A copy of her original one, but it will be up to code
