I think you are slowly becoming my favourite guitar review channel. Just very informative, cool playing, no messing about soloing for 4 mins. You seem genuine and knowledgeable.
Based on the previous years, I think here can be a good chance that for 2025 or by the end of 2024, for the next new SE's, there can be a Fiore. Hope there is!
I love that the review covers the neck thickness at the 1st and 12th frets as well as the shape. That’s a critical thing for me with guitars and most reviewers don’t talk about it at all.
Thank God nobody else was with me in the breakroom when I watched this. When the music played when you showed your hand with the nylon on it, I almost shot soda out my nose.
shows how up to date I am, I thought you posted a photoshop first. That finish is mindbending, it's white, off white, dark grey.... everything. unique, I dig it.
This was THE review that was the most impactful in me putting in an order for a Fiore today. It really highlighted the kind of tone that I find most pleasing, even though I thought I was going to be chasing a more typical strat and tele tones. We'll see if it winds up working out the way I hope. I really dig the more P90'ish vibe with the fatter, warmer tone with the still single coil attack and spank, and the bridge HB falls perfectly in line as well and seems like it could be my favorite HB tone so far. Much appreciated!
such different vibes. The Fiore sounds as great as I had hoped. Like, that neck/middle tone is just exactly it. The Silver Sky sounds like John Mayer's 64 strat. So if you want that, there it is. Cool variety for sure.
Also of note with the middle push/pull: Like stated, in positions 1 & 5, the treble & bass pickup are both on In positions 2 & 4, all three pickups are on.
Very impressive guitar, more dynamic and more versatile than the John Mayer model, excellent review of a guitar that was well designed and well built by PRS.
Wow. Color me surprised. I’ve been looking at the Silver Sky for a while now, while the Fiore didn’t really do it for me for some reason, as I never connected to the HSS concept that much. But this thing sounds amazing in your hands! I think I actually liked the neck and 4 position better on the Fiore. Gets you thinking. And the red one looks tasty.... one more to put on the wish list I guess. At this rate I’m gonna need a larger house (not even going to think about the much larger banking account, dreams are free!) Thanks as always Phil for a great demo/comparison, you actually made me reevaluate my priorities!
I have one soft case that I use with all my electrics except for my ES335 but I also have the factory hard case and plastic TSA molded case for serious travel. Cases are your guitars’ footwear. 😎
@@DavidMorisset I need to check those molded cases out. Thanks! For my ES335 style guitar I use a hard case. So for all hollow and semi-hollow body guitars I use a hard case. But for solid body guitars I prefer Mono Cases :) What soft case are you using?
I tried all those mods on two different Strats, but never achieved anything even close to the Fiore. I've now parted ways with Fender, for the first time since 1957.
I saw the Fiore and thought “Oh, not another Strat copy”, but how wrong was I? Both of these guitars look and sound great. If I were to choose I’d go for the Fiore. It seems so versatile. I love all the funky push pull pot settings. It just sounds delicious
Yea it's $2449. Finest materials, tremendous investment in developing perfect string angles, hardware, all possible to let your instrument sing, making sure nothing in design and construction hinders the beautiful flow from guitar to listener. Each one a masterpiece, a lifetime of sonic treasures to behold. Here's yer gigbag.
My friend and I were literally JUST talking about the Fiore when this video went live. Talk about timing! Great work as always Phil, you're a great role model for aspiring guitar youtubers like me.
I think that despite the obvious difference, a comparison between the JM bridge single coil and the ML humbucker in parallel would have been useful to show how close (or far) to single coil sound it can get.
Awesome! Thank you so much for doing this video. I've been strongly considering both of these guitars. There's plenty of info on the Silver Sky, but not as much for the Fiore. Both great guitars.
The Fiore is where it's at. Good weight, balanced pickups, neck feels amazing and plays well. The sonic versatility you can get from the Fiore is amazing. It won't do death metal obviously lol.
@@natanaeldamian2192 You can finish a neck without making it glossy/sticky. The satin necks on higher end Fenders are amazing, as are the oiled necks EBMM use.
It comes in red, and black too, I believe. If you go to the PRS channel, they did the virtual launch in January, so Mark talks about the guitar and shows the colors
Silver Sky tones = sound like everyone ever. Fiore = sound like you. If you are traditionalist/roots/cover player get the Silver Sky. It is lovely. If you are a creative get the Fiore. It is inspirational. Only criticism - for F’s sake Paul put a black cover on the bucker.
I think I must be a maple fretboard guy… I found myself picking maple every time. I also like a flatter radius. I’m gonna have to check it out. Thanks Phil!
The John Mayer front middle pickup output is louder, but the Fiore is louder in the amp. Maybe it's because the Fiore Unplugged sound is louder. But John Mayer's sound is more organized in the same position.
The Fiore is like any good PRS - put the pickup switch in any position, play a few bars, and you forget what position it’s in and just play the darned thing.
I really like the Fiore a lot because it’s more versatile than JM. I already have 4 Strat style guitars, which 2 or HSS. One is a PRS S2 Studio and the other is a Fender Ultra 2019. Only reason I haven’t pulled the trigger to get one as of yet, because I rather have a rosewood than maple and I find it a little disappointing in the presentation….😕. It looks unfinished 🤷🏾♂️. Is it me? But I still really like the functionality of the guitar and that outweighs the aesthetics. Good video.
Honestly, if they released a rosewood model, I would be all over it. I am not even a guy who needs rosewood, I just think it would like less 80’s. I love the concept and pickup configuration. The white one does look awesome though.
Hi Phillip, thanks for the many interesting reviews. I really liked the review of this PRS Fiori and I am wondering how it would compare to an Ibanez AZ2204 and eventually a G&L s500 as they have similar wiring possibilities. Keep up the good work. 😀
I have been looking at the silver sky and wanting an S style guitar. I agree with wanting a more PRS style one. 10 inch radius and all the PRS specs I’m use to. I think the fiore is more what I am looking for. Thanks.
Greate vídeo. Phil, you build pickups. ¿How close can you get of the John Mayer silver sky pickups with your build?. That would be a good vídeo. Cheers from Argentina
From Leo: I liked the side by side comparison, good job. Sweet guitar, I think white with the light finish neck is a good look. The 10 inch radius is my favorite and the side jack is a nice touch for a cleaner look.
@@AAllinsonNN I’ve got the latest Fender and Gibson deluxe gig bags, they’re great. Strong and light and now sitting empty in the closet just like the hardshells I have.
Woah that Fiore has a real rats nest in the wiring cavity lol. I want a Silver Sky Modern. Traditional Strat body shape. Fiesta red. Rosewood fretboard. 10 inch radius. Locking tuners. HSS. Make me a signature guitar Paul! I’ll post it on Instagram at least once a day I promise 😆
