Let's take a look at the PRS SE DGT today. It comes in two colors currently, gold and sunburst. I really enjoy this guitar as it is so different from other SE models. This guitar is so good that I don’t even reach for my custom shop guitars anymore. I’m just mad that I spent way too much money on my previous guitar.

@@goorackerelite manufacturers have come so far with their “entry level” guitars it blows my mind sometimes! I will be doing a few videos here soon based on the more expensive levels of guitars. Stay tuned!

I believe that PRS left the wiring long enough to swap the neck and bridge pots to have the traditional layout of the first pot being the volume and second being the neck. I have played a few ranging from 7 to over 8 lbs. I found one around 7.5 lbs and decided to purchase that one.

With the advancements in design, manufacturing processes, logistics, and parts sharing, "cheap" guitars are really high quality nowadays.

@@liamartinproductions the processes they use to create these guitars has evolved drastically and they are producing unreal results. Some might say we are living in the golden age of guitar due to this and so many options available with click of a button.

If you havent tried, you should also check out the se swamp ash special. Im mostly a fingerstlye player and the sas has great articulation

I've heard nothing but good things about these. And, it can't be any heavier than a Gibson 1950s Les Paul Standard. Those guitars are back-breakers!

@@finishin.my.coffee8780 for me it’s a personal preference to have a lighter guitar. I’ve heard of other people, even in the comments here, say that they have DGTs that are lighter than this particular one. Outside of the weight and the volume knob placement it is an amazing guitar. How much does yours weigh and how much do your 594s weigh ?

That DGT had to weigh close to 9 pounds I swear! I borrowed that one so I’m not totally sure on the weight but it was stinking heavy. The 2 McCarty’s weigh 7.4 pounds each. It’s crazy to me how they weigh exactly the same! Thanks for watching!

@@Sick_Strings01 ya that’s a touch heavy , mine is 8.3 pounds and my lightest les paul is 8.5 and I have an original rev start that’s say 8,2 but a 594 at 7.4 pounds is really good … from what I know David G likes his close to 7 pounds but the USA ones so ya 9 pounds is the high end for sure .. especially since body shape is same for 594 and the dgt

@@bobbyarthur-yf3yf it has to be the construction/wood that’s used causing the weight discrepancy. Like I’ve said before, I prefer a lighter guitar but this one is comfortable while seated and well balanced standing.
