“Clean cut company” that quote says it all. I’m an original owner of a 2004 2500 with 280k miles. Instead of buying a overpriced new truck I’m upgrading the 04. Thanks!
I installed a Pacbrake inline 4” PRXB on my 2000, before I moved from east to west coast, man I’m ever glad I did. Even bought it at a discount. Definitely the best thing u can do to have a safer, more confident driving experience when pulling heavy loads over steep grades! Really don’t know if I want to know if I would have made it down some grades in Utah without it.
I appreciate the videos. I have a 95 4x4 that I installed a g56 ....i towed a can am side by side to red river and my brakes got pretty warm even with my 2001 front axle and 3 gen brakes .. So i bought a in line pack brake to help with towing . . Just about done with job ..Installed a new exhaust manifold, valve springs, new pilot injectors from PDD .. .. thanks again for the videos
If the truck has a manual transmission, exhaust brake should be standard equipment for that combo . Had my prxb on my 06 since 2010 and only had to do my brakes once .
Thanks for the info on pacbrake Sam, I've only been around factory turbine brakes on the 6.7 Cummins and duramax in the GM 4500 and 5500 little mini truck lookin jobby. Then the 7.3 has the exhaust back pressure valve that can be made to function as an exhaust brake, and all mentioned here are better than nothing at all when towing.
Looks like I’ll be doing this when I do my 2nd gen swap next summer. Great video, might do the bags later on down the road but at least then I’ll have on board air
Another great video Sam. I am looking to replace the exhaust brake (banks brake) I installed 15 years ago on my 02 f350. It worked ok, but does not have near the braking of my factory exhaust brake on my 2018 ram. Do you think it would be worth it on a 7.3 and what do you think of the factory brake on your new truck?
factory brake isn't to far off from the prxb. I was surprised and how well new ones did compared to pacbrake. I wanted to compare this brake to the new factory ones in this video but didn't play out. but if I have issues with my stock turbo and brake on my 08 turbo will be second or third gen swapped and one of these will be added. and thank you!!
Looking to add this here pretty soon. I lost my exhaust brake going with the 2 gen swap. Didn’t know they were almost 2g´s ufffff. They’re the only ones that mount to a 5in exhaust. Great content as usual. You sold me on it. Now, im going to throw my wallet under the hood jaja
Cristobal Ospina I was looking at that last night. Smart thought making one for 5inch. If and when I do a second gen swap I will be adding one of these for sure. But fun stuff is a wallet deleter haha
Cristobal Ospina maybe 3 hours or so. Not bad but it will take longer for yours needing to cut into the exhaust. But you could do it in a day no problem
Hey is there a switch to turn the brake on. My 05 Cummins has one. I bought truck with it. The compressor was in back seat not sure deal with it. But tank is in bumper, and I have lines and compressor. No switches in truck tho. And mine is automatic. I called pacbrake but there answer is buy a new kit.
Dude, when we get an electric truck this will look way different. Serisously, if you have the chance to tow 5klbs with a tesla model X (the SUV) starting at 90% state of charge, you will be intrigued. My little spark EV, 2800 lbs, towed the 600lb tractor supply trailer with an 800 lb spa... Low gear regen, as always .It was stupitly effective. Our 2002 motorhome with the ISB300 5.9 has a pacbrake. It is like having regen on an electric vehicle on the slow down. Just blew a v-clamp tho. That was interesting. (turbo-brake clamp)
I have a 2004 Dodge 5.9 6 speedI'm interested in buying a exhaust brake but can't decide between the PRXB or the load leash I'm pulling a toy hauler That weighs 15000 pounds I'm out in Colorado pulling steep grades
Load leash MUST have an exhaust brake also to work. Prxb will do what you want just fine. My rule of thumb is 20k and less exhaust brake is all you need. More than 20 add the load leash on top of it
I’d say it close to vgt but very good if deleting your stock turbo. I swapped out my 08 to this brake and it holds back pretty well. Vgt has a little more now that I’ve ran both on same truck
Terrell Christian yea I installed it all. Pretty simple install just don’t get in a hurry install was maybe a 4 out of 10 at best. Only part that was tricky was plugging the control wires into the ecm. Makes sure you pull the little plugs out of the ecm connectors before you stab pac brakes wires in there. Lol but other that that easy install
