I use a psp go for that, having a sleep mode is great... though not having a screen protector really bothers me in a handheld so portable.

I love my Vita as well! But could you do a tutorial for setting up Retroarch like you have? All these bezels are awesome! The cover and all that stuff is incredible! Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease help us getting it as naughty as you have!

My biggest issue I had attempting to hack a Vita was the amount of tutorials out there that were outdated, left out a ton of information, or assumed you knew exactly how each piece of software need worked. Could never find just one tutorial that covered it all step by step.

Such an excellent machine! Flawlessly ported over all my fave PS1 titles and as you said there are a ton of PSP titles to load up as well. Runs retro arch like a champ. Have the N64 emulator running well. Would love to see Dreamcast running on it! Love having more than a few portable Tekken titles for the PS1 and PSP with no lag. Dreamcast and Daphne running on it would be amazing.

Great video. I own a hacked PS Vita and now a Retroid Pocket 2. They do different things and are both good options. Good luck finding a Vita for 85 dollars compared to the RP2. RP2 plays N64 better than an over clocked Vita, Vita plays PSP (and Vita) games better than any current China handheld.

Try a 512GB.... they work. I haven't tested the 1TB, as they're still too pricey.

The Vita is an emulation monster! I modded my Vita Slim, and not only can I play Vita games, I found a pre-made retrogaming build that has tons of emulator cores using Retroarch. The download was huge (almost 256gb) but very much worth it. And emulators for N64 and Dreamcast are currently being worked on.

Now that the RG 552 model is out and can dual boot android and Linux , I feel it may be worth it to compare that with Vita's performance. It may be pricier, but the versatility and touch screen have cemented it onto my shopping list for a handheld that can run DS and 3DS games, among others.

Bought an used one (with OLED) with 10 Games & 8GB memory card for 120 €, had to replace the powercord (+7.-) and added a SD adapter (+5.-) + 200 GB SD (+22.-). Found a few usefull forums and stuff like an installer for "the settlers", homebrew on this is really awesome!

There are 2 retroarch builds for a modded vita. A lite build and a mega build. The lite is about 20gb and the mega is about 200gb. Theyre on arcade punks I think. Have bezels, artwork etc already built in like wicked gamers.

@@friskydingooo7992 there is a dreamcast core for retroarch (flycast) but it's still in it's infancy so will not work well. Work has stopped on it for now for the gta ports.

OLED Vita is more expensive, but I bought also Slim version for around 60 euro. Also bought Vita TV for about 25 euro. Now this stupid game cards are no problem since ultimate version of SD2Vita cost around 1-2$.

@@WickedGamerCollector also you're wrong about Vita ports - you should look about huge list of ports made by Rinnegatamante. Also he with TheFlow made special plugin that forces PSP tittles to render on Vita's native resolution. Yes it is true that my chinese handhelds mostly collecting dust because Vita is still in the game :)

I own both of these systems, and I don't see why you wouldn't just spend the little extra to get the much more capable PS Vita. The RG350M has a surprisingly solid build, and great input size and feel, but the Vita has that and more. The only cons to the Vita are the buttons/sticks being small (the start/select on the 1000 model is ridiculous), and the screen is too bright for my liking (even on the lowest setting).

I love my 1000 series Vita. I bought it from Japan for $80 USD and dropped a 512GB SD card in an SD2Vita. It's a great handheld for basically everything you want it to do.

I recently hacked my vita and really just put adrenaline and pkgj on it. I've put more time on the vita in the last month than I have since it was released. I carry it everywhere now. Even the switch stays at home

It wont be long before the Chinese handhelds will be able to do more than the vita emulation wise. There are already a few that can run most dreamcast and n64 games decently. Heck, you can get a $60 android phone and emulate more than the vita. I feel like the main reason to get a vita over another handheld emulator is just that premium feel. Despite some stupid decisions on Sonys part, it is one of the nicest products they've ever made.

Sorry I forget to mention it can emulate n64 but not perfectly for some games like super smah bros it workes fine but for star fox it requires 1 framskip I think and some games don't run at all But the good thing is that the n64 emulator is still work in progress For the other devices no there is no emulator for them although there is some ports from the dream cast like jet set radio, crazy taxi 1 & 2, power stone collection, the last blade 2, garou mark of the wolves, dragon's crown and some ps1 titles like Rayman 2, Street Fighter Alpha 3, several Guilty Gear games, Fighting Force 2, Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation, and Tomb Raider: Chronicles. Or any ps1 game that were ported to dreamcast .

Overclocking to 444 is very recommended no overheating and still good gameplay at god of War

Broke it years ago and fixed it with a 20 euro screen. (Screen is good actually) and I hacked it a year ago. It's amazing. So many emulators. Btw there is a DS emulator. Needs fixing but it can work. PS1 games too but you have to get them from a store where you get free games. Don't think there is a actual PS1 emulator for vita

Adrenaline on Vita runs PSP games, quite well. RetroArch can emulate the few games & hacks that Adrenaline won't play properly, also it plays bin+cue images; Adrenaline requires PS1 games in eboot format.

@@TexasHollowEarth I know. That might be a problem. I think I tried a PS1 game eboot file (Yu-Gi-Oh forbidden memories) and it didn't work oddly enough.

Android smartphones with a Switch style pad or a control pad clip are becoming the cheapest & most powerful handhelds now. The Switch is obviously a little beast but so few can actually be hacked & they are very expensive.
