Your getting a like for that water world reference. I know a lot of people hate that movie but I was a little kid when it came out I thought it was awesome
@Phil w I've pretty similar thoughts with regards to _Waterworld_ - it's far from "art", but it's a fun diversion - and I'd even prefer to watch it over a lot of modern big-budget films
Because it was foretold in the Bible that the Revelations will start in Sweden and spread from there to around the world, supposedly the Anti-Christ was born there. Ask MJ, if you don't believe me.
I was thinking maybe he was inluenced from a popular Swedish film from 1957 called The Seventh Seal. Takes place in Sweden and The Grim Reaper is a big part of the film.
Excellent video... I'm in the UK didn't know you guys missed out on Forbidden Siren 2 and especially Gregory Horror Show... they are both very good and still are today.
First Forbidden Siren game on PS2 was hard, infact there's not many walkthroughs on RU-vid that actually complete the whole game, most people upload first few levels then give up
I would have loved it if we got a localization of the 3rd Bust A Groove game for the PS2 (Called Dance Summit 2001). I really enjoyed Bust A Groove 1 and 2 at the original PlayStation.
Thanks MJR. I only recently bought a PS2 , so I love these videos looking back at older games. I am pretty sure there is a lifetime of games I missed out the last 15 years , so I am just getting warmed up !!
Loved Assault suits Valken. Stumbled across it by accident at an HMV store. Couldn't believe I finally got my beloved "Cybernator" game back, I used to play on SNES.
The fact that Michigan: Report from Hell doesn't take place in the town of Hell, Michigan is a real missed opportunity. And 7 Sins being the Dick Masterson Life Simulator makes it sound almost appealing. Almost.
When I was little my dad took me to a flea market and I saw a copy of the Sims 2 and asked the lady for the price, but when I opened the box the game was 7 Sins... she offered it to me for free lol
Am I missing something??? How do you not have 2 million subs? I have learned a lot from you including how to get a hdmi gamecube and N64. Easily a top 5 gaming channel.
I wonder if anybody has gotten so drunk that they forgot to lift up the toilet lid so that they can puke inside the toilet but instead they puked all over the lid instead
Check out Ghost Vibration (one of the rarest games in UK but more common in France), Azur et Asmar (a 2D platformer), And Knights of the Temple :Infernal Crusade, Knights of the Temple II (also VERY rare in Uk, German version is easier to find). Great video! I also liked the recent Wii one which inspired me to buy Pitfall on Gamecube
Leynos is the first game in the Assault Suits series. It goes: Assault Suits Leynos/Target Earth (Genesis/PS4 remake) Assault Suits Valken/Cybernator (SNES/PS2 remake) Assault Suits Leynos 2 (Saturn) Assault Suits Valken 2 (PS1 strategy game like Front Mission)
The two PS2 games we didn't get that bother me most are the Tales of Destiny (Director's Cut) remake, and its sequel, the "true" Tales of Destiny 2. We didn't get the sequel because Tales of Eternia was renamed Tales of Destiny II in the US, because Mattel held the copyright for the "Eternia" name due to He-Man, so because of that re-name we didn't get the "true" sequel to Destiny. Oh, how that irks me ... even all these years later.
7 Blades reminds me of this other game that MJR has covered. I think Sega at least published it and it is about a swordsman getting his body parts back.
Another terrible game for PS2 (Spain exclusive) is ¡Qué pasa, NENG! Im asuming you already know about this game but its becoming some kind of cult game here
The first SIREN game is based on a true massacre event happened in Japan (Tsuyama Massacre 21 May 1938) or (都井睦雄 - 津山事件), which a young boy killed almost everyone in his village. And Japan government basically removed the village from the map now. Here is an article about it. killscreen.com/articles/abandoned-japanese-town-inspired-horror-game-siren-predictably-unsettling/
I played the hell out of the first Siren game. I remember when Nintendo Satura Iwata told the Video Games have achieved to portray photo realistic face expressions and Siren and Silent Hills 3 where the games that came to my mind in that moment.
Metal Jesus - I have a question that is off topic - I am starting to collect: NES, SNES and GBA games. Most of without cases, so due to the latter, how should I safely store the cartridges? Is a Ziploc back good enough? What about static from the plastic - will it hurt the internals of the cartridges? What should I get to keep dust off/out of my cartridges and keep them for years of enjoyment? THANK you---- Now... time to play some SNK Iron Tank with some New Coke!!!!
Shen I first heard of Michigan Report From Hell about a decade ago, I was a little pissed off that it never came to the US as I live in Michigan and was upset that they had the nerve to use a state name in the title, but not release the game in the country.
As I saw the stag of games I immediately New which one you did not like. 7 sins is a game you either love or hate. It has a very hardcore following here in the EU as well as some die hard opportunists againt that specific game...
I remember playing 7 Blades and enjoying it quite a bit back in the day. And as for Assault Suits Valken, you really want to make sure that you progress slowly and maybe take several different routes, so that you don't end up being surrounded by large amounts of enemies. Also, the shield should protect you from almost every attack, even those that come from behind oder above (or at least it was like that in the original Cybernator). It also helps to find and collect Energy Chips to upgrade your weapons, which is essential if you want to make it far into the game. It's a really fun game overall, but takes some time getting used to. What I don't udnerstand however is, why would they remake it for the PS2? was there any additional content besides the base game? Or maybe it's just a budget title like the Sega Ages games?
I had no idea many of these were on PAL. Must have been pretty limited releases (especially Gigawing) as I love my PS2. XII Stag's side fire is an interesting idea but its a real arcade stick breaker if you don't use the auto option, the arcade version must have ruined plenty of cabs.
Anyone else has the same problem? I love those pickup videos of old games. I also have the nostalgia for many games (born 87) - i own & like snes mini etc. but... i just cant play those old games anymore.. specially 3d ones like ps1,n64,ps2, xbox etc. Its a bit different with the old pixel look but old 3d games.. no matter how good they are.. i cant get into
Hopefully you do a 3rd part of this! Also, hopefully you get a chance to play Robot Wars Arenas of Destruction, it's a robot combat game, very different style of game, not the best game in the world but very fun, the customisation you can do to your machines is great, it also has hilarious 2 player multiplayer.
So with the game siren they actually used pictures of the actors, and plastered them on 3D models that’s why they have those faces, and it worked great for the time
Holding the attack button on gigawing will charge up a shield that you can use to reflect the bullets btw Don't play it with a regular bullet hell shooter mindset
The first PS2 game I ever emulated was Gregory Horror Show. Liked it so much, bizzare and right up my alley like Katamari , Mr. Mosquito, Okage etc. weirdness. After searching for it on the bay I was bummed to find out PAL only, for some reason Mcbooting one of my 2 PS2 slims hasn't been done yet, only console I haven't region modded really, don't know why I'm stalling!!
Hahahaha, 7 Sins, to be honest its collecting value more than playability, there's a good book on that game and others like it, which went through a kind of vogue or popularity later on in the PS2, those titles contrast with Leisure Suit Larry and the adult humour titles that went before dont they? I didnt know that Michigan Report From Hell wasnt a US release, its actually hard to find outside of US collectors scene
I think siren 2 was in PS3 if it's the same. You play as different characters to. The others look fun to. It's odd hown alot didn't come here. But we got a lot that others didn't get lol.
Ah, 7 Sins. I remember reviews at the time were super bad. I guess they wanted to go the Postal 2/Saint's Row route, with dumb politically uncorrect exaggerated fun humour, but the actual gameplay is pretty bad (and not bad in a fun way like Postal 2, just annoyingly bad).
Michigan report from hell was prob up there for me for worst games ever playd, glad some dumb ass payed me 10 x what I bought this turd for haha yep avoid that one! Don't take any notice of the rare gen tags, it's rare for a reason.
i know you pretty much optimize the quality of your game footage, and whenever you post ps2 footage, it looks vaguely dark and kind of muddy, so i'm just wondering if someone should do an HDMI mod like kevtris did for the n64. or maybe it would be better just to have an emulator that plays multiple systems that hooks up to a modern tv via HDMI.
This footage was straight out of the PS3 Test system. I did increase the highlights by 20% in post...but other than that, no other color correction on my part.
If you're triggered by the last game then DEAR GOD!!!!, I feel bad that people are so fragile these days. We need more games like the last one (because games don't have to be made for *EVERYONE* ).
