For Snape coughing I learned they switched the audio files on accident. So Snape was supposed to have lines when he caught you but they messed up and put the wrong file and just never fixed it. I also know this game was rushed during development.
Another tidbit: Apparently if you throw dungbombs at random people, including Snape, it can sometimes get them to say lines of dialogue that belong to other characters, or some lines that were completely cut from the game and normally are never heard. To quote what I found: "Throwing Dungbombs at certain characters occasionally causes them to either say dialogue belonging to other characters or that was removed from the game. For example, throwing Dungbombs at Snape causes him to start saying Sir Cadogan's dialogue. Throwing Dungbombs at Parvati Patil causes her to talk about owl racing which she won't say if you talk to her via normal means. These are not "Easter Eggs," it is in fact a glitch in the game."
@@dylanzlol7293 They're cut, in the sense that they're not actually *supposed* to show up under normal circumstances. It's a bug that loads the wrong voice lines, the same as Snape coughing. It just happens to load dialogue that wasn't actually used anywhere in the game, and only loads by accident when doing this specific thing. I get what you're saying. They're in the files, so they weren't cut out of the game itself completely. But, honestly, it's splitting hairs. If we said that, we'd also be saying an entire unused area under the map isn't "cut" either, just because it's technically still there. Or the many unused textures, models, modes, and maps people find in games all the time, aren't "cut" because they still exist in the files.
21:00 you cut out Neville’s BEST line. “Harry, I want to go to BED” it’s become a saying in my household. My dad and I used to play this game together. I remember the STRESS trying to sneak past Snape. I would always make my dad beat the stealth level. Riding the Griffon was the best part. He passed away when I was 9. Oh man this game brings back memories. I never ended up beating the game after he passed. Thank you for this video, Kevin ❤
@@nothanks8522 awww you guys are too kind. It’s a core memory for me that I don’t get the opportunity to talk about much. I wasn’t expecting 500 people to reminisce in one of my fondest memories haha. Two weeks from now marks 14 years without him.
You're totally right 😆 In the CoS movie, when Harry gets bitten by the basalisk he says "you were brilliant fawkes, i just wasnt quick enough" and pulls the kind of face you make after a minor inconveniance like a 12 year old CHILD is just like "eh gonna die, what can ya do"
@@hexgirl_x He accepts it pretty well in the books too. If I'm not misremembering, he even tries to tell Ginny how to get out as he dies, just for Fawkes to cry on him.
The idea of two 13-year-olds gently scolding their owl for trying to fly directly up to a landing instead of following the path the stairs makes is genuinely hilarious.
20:50 "I'm just trying to survive Harry, I also want to be a boy who lived" that line delivery was *mwaa* chefs kiss made me watch 3 times and still laugh 🤣
I find it so funny how in the previous HP games, Hermione and Ron were omitted from certain scenes, while in this game it feels like they're added to every scene.
"Flitwick seems like one of the more innocent professors" - Fun Harry Potter lore, he's actually the best duellist in all of Hogwarts, he's a master duellist with a shelf full of trophies from the countless competitions he's won.
@PikachuLittle most dueling isn't decided by dodging, but counter spellwork. Think of Minirva v Snape, or Dumbledore v Voldemort, there were a few dodges, but most of it was fought by conjuring up or transfiguring a response to their opponent. Obviously, unblockabke curses are the exception, but those are hardly going to be allowed
Honestly, Sirius putting those traps and stuff there "because it'd be funny" _is_ something he would do. Not to actually be malicious, but because he never really thinks about consequences.
Severus in the deathly hallows: "You kept him alive so that he could die at the proper moment. You have been raising him like a pig for slaughter..." Dumbledore: "Have you looked at all the crazy stuff we built just to teach that boy?? I'm surprised you didn't recognize it sooner. Literally 3/4 of the schools income goes into making this kid crazy traps just so I can actually fins a way to kill him when the time comes. But the wiley little so and so just keeps getting through them all."
We don't talk enough about how Flitwick opened the Chamber of Secrets. There should be some fanfiction out there now, about how he was truly the real evil all along 😂
im of the opinion that life is pretty shitty. but then there are moments like this, when im eating popcorn in the bath watching kevins videos. and its moments like this that makes life worth staying here for
I do have to say that the Harry Potter movies always gave me massive stranger danger vibes, like most of the adults just seem suspicious and even as a kid I was thinking about how dangerous of a place the school was.
the comedic timing for his harry potter gameplays is just always so fucking golden. is it weird that i only wish for more harry potter games to continue to be made just so i have more videos of kevin playing them. 🤣
1:10:28 "i hope my voice didnt put you off" i listened to this basically as a potcast wihle reading and doing stuff around the house your.voice is so soothing!
The puzzles (sliding ice blocks, mirrors to shine light into 'eyes' to unlock doors, piranha plants) and the aesthetic of some of the dungeons give me the biggest ocarina of time vibes...
@@mastermarkus5307 Realism is like a firework. If it's really high quality, it catches everyone's attention and wows them all. But in the same vein, it's life is short. And its beauty soon fades away, only to be a memory.
@@josefinarivia thank you so much for encouraging words! I had the oral exam I was most stressed about two days ago and it went great. That’s the thing about school stress… it usually just means you are putting in the effort. Hope you’re staying strong too 💪🏽💪🏽
Literally Luv watching them while grinding clash of clans kevin has made maxing townhall 12 more bearable. pop a training portion turn on kevin n go shtupid
Malfoy getting back at them with polyjuice would honestly have slapped as a plot point. There could have been a bit of time where Ron is pissed at Harry for not knowing it was Malfoy. Edit for more thoughts: It would make Malfoy feel like a more genuine Slytherin, too, if he was genuinely good at impersonating someone.
Whenever I go through a depressive episode the only media content I’m capable of watching are Kevin’s video because they’re fun and light✨ thank you Kevin for always making me smile even on my darkest days
I remember playing the GBA version of this game which was an RPG and it took more from the movie than the books, and the final boss was surprisingly enough Draco Malfoy, these games are such a gem.
I once got stuck in the bit underground (With the whomping willow, I think?), because I couldn't figure out what I was looking at. It was a door I couldn't see, or something.
Snape's open mouthed coughing sent my sides to space, ha! I'm so disappointed they didn't include Professor Snape infecting the entire school with the common cold in the films... such an important element left out.
I love these replays of harry potter games, because it's funny how many jokes Kevin repeats from the first time he played them, and how completely oblivious he seems to be to it.
Occasionally I'll go back to a video to rewatch it, and then comment, only to realize that its essentially the same thing as what I already said on that same video months or years ago.
Can't believe Kevin still hasn't played the god tier game that is Chamber of Secrets on the PC but any and all Harry Potter content massively improves my day so we're not complaining. Special shoutout to Pettigrew for escaping by just awkwardly walking out of frame.
I started watching thinking "Oh man I remember all this!" but was so confused as it went on and realised how different the PC and PS2 versions are, I really hope Kevin can do the PC version as well because it was so good haha
A few years ago I was doing an intense cleaning of my room and I had Kevin's Harry Potter games playlist looping in the background one night and it was amazing.
6:27 Not just any bomb, but a pipe bomb! 22:30 I appreciate the quiet "can we go back now" in the background 43:25 Wait a minute, this boss is actually kinda cool! 56:53 Why does the painting open like that? 1:01:59 Your hubris has caught up with you once more
I’ve had a really shit day today, seeing this on RU-vid has already brightened my mood. These videos really do help! Thank you Kevin for all the hilarious moments you create for us whilst playing these Harry Potter games!
If Kevin casually misses the lego Harry Potter games I will be severely disappointed Honestly the way they retell the events are absolutely hilarious I've been playing through it myself and i haven't touched Harry Potter in years Yet somehow I was remembering names left and right It was very bittersweet
My most prominent Memory of this Game was, that by the End when you unlock the "Max Health Up" Potions, and Harry drinks too many of them, you can actively aim at him and attack him. Idk if the Potions turn you into a Monster or if you're meant to get him off his Addiction.
I love your ability to recycle content and still make it funny and not feeling like more of the same I also love how wholesome this community you built is, usually there's so much toxicity around... So glad that one day RU-vid showed me this random guy called Kevin ❤️
Yeah but children who didnt read the books or pay attention watching the films would have no idea why their A grade was near failing. In the books their school grades are gone over once or twice, and I'm not sure if they're went over in the movies at all. Maybe in the one where harry is despairing over them due to Snape teaching poshuns and he needs it for his career goals. It makes perfect sense to use a grading system most people understand even if they don't use it themselves in a game that is clearly made in mind children ages 7-12 as the target audience.
I took some cold medicine while watching this. I dozed off and when I woke up he was fighting Mysterio(Spiderman 2). And for 30 minutes I didn't have a problem with this.
Thank you Kevin, I've been having a rough period for the past couple weeks and zoning out for an hour and just enjoying some nostalgic harry potter play through is exactly what I needed, you're awesome!
dear youtube; WHY???? I HAVE WATCHED THIS FULL VIDEO MORE THAN TEN TIMES AND IT STILL COMES BACK UP ON AUTOPLAY, I LOVE YOU KEVIN, BUT THIS IS TOO MUCH.
The cut to Malfoy holding a rat and standing behind a bar staring at Harry, coupled with your incredulous “What are you guys DOING??” is so funny that I had to pause the video I was laughing so hard. And now I keep thinking about it and bursting into giggles all over again
As a kid, I spent literally hours at the part where you have to save past-harry from the dementors. The patronus just moved so slow and you were so far away that if you missed a shot, it took so long to get your patronus back over there. In hindsight, not that difficult.
What's great about this is that in the books Harry says at the end if Lupin had wanted him dead he could have tried to kill him hundreds of times in the year.... He kinda did try in this game 🤣
These hour long videos of Kevin visiting all of these nostalgic games genuinely gives me a deep level of comfort that no other RU-vidr can give me. Thank you, Kevin!
These were my favorite games and it's so cozy and fun to watch you play. The long playthroughs are such a treat! I put this off for a few hours so I could curl up and really enjoy. I hope you feel better/get better and your voice was just fine.
Dear Kevin, I can express enough how much I enjoy the Harry Potter saga! The old ones was when I founded your channel and sense that I have being a fan. And every time when I get sad or life isn't going that well, like magic you post something like this! Thank you so much, for making me smile when it's hard times ☆ You're the best
This world is rapidly passing away and I hope that you repent and take time to change before all out disaster occurs! Belief in messiah alone is not enough to grant you salvation - Matthew 7:21-23, John 3:3, John 3:36 (ESV is the best translation for John 3:36) if you believed in Messiah you would be following His commands as best as you could. If you are not a follower of Messiah I would highly recommend becoming one. Call on the name of Jesus and pray for Him to intervene in your life - Revelation 3:20. Contemplate how the Roman Empire fulfilled the role of the beast from the sea in Revelation 13 over the course of 1260+ years. Revelation 17 confirms that the beast is in fact Rome. From this we can conclude that A) Jesus is the Son of God and can predict the future or make it happen, B) The world leaders/nations/governments etc have been conspiring together for the last 3000+ years going back to Babylon and before, C) History as we know it is fake. You don't really need to speculate once you start a relationship with God. Can't get a response from God? Fasting can help increase your perception and prayer can help initiate events. God will ignore you if your prayer does not align with His purpose (James 4:3) or if you are approaching Him when "unclean" (Isaiah 1:15, Isaiah 59:2, Micah 3:4). Stop eating food sacrificed to idols (McDonald's, Wendy's etc) stop glorifying yourself on social media or making other images of yourself (Second Commandment), stop gossiping about other people, stop watching obscene content etc. Have a blessed day!
To answer your question, dumbledore was NOT okay with dementors going into the school grounds. In the books atleast. He strictly forbidded them to enter the school grounds, and in the quidditch match, he was extremely qngry
One of the best things that ever happened to me was finding this channel. Your videos are beyond entertaining and hilarious. I love your sense of humor and it doesn’t feel like it’s forced in any way. Your commentary is also insightful to people who haven’t played too and relatable for those, such as myself, who have played these games, and I think Prisoner of Azkaban for PS2 is definitely up there as one of the best games. I thought just about everything you said which was so pleasing to hear knowing that someone else felt confused or amused by certain quirks in the game! Thank you for what you do, and I’m happy to see you’re still going strong with new videos. Thank you for everything Kevin!
