Actually, I think you're right. After Pitbull Syndicate shut down, they transformed into Pitbull Studio and they merged with Epic Games and became Epic Games UK. I wish that they would go back to making Test Drive games since they were pretty fun to play.
I loved this game back in the day. The soundtrack was awesome, and playing pong in between the rounds was cool. But a quick critique on the game play up there, braking is for the XJ220, you can let of the gas to corner with the Viper and maintain more speed. haha.
I remember this being the best graphics I had ever seen in a racing game. My brother and I were young at the time and we would even stop to act like we were traffic cars. It was the first time we seen San Francisco in a racing game
This was the best Test Drive they ever made and should’ve stopped here that bullshit test drive unlimited was and is something that should be in the waiting room at hospitals
Test Drive Overdrive was the good old days of games on PS2 and the standard Xbox. It was way before we had these HD tvs, HDMI cords, Xbox Ones, and PS4s too Around 1998 to 2009, we had standard definition TVs to go with when we either wanted to watch TV or play your games and I miss those days my self. Anyways, I did beat TD Overdrive and finally unlocked the Dodge Viper GTS-R Concept and every car in the game, despite the traffic, obstacles, and cops getting in the way and making me rage. The PS2 version is better than the PC version and if only there was a Test Drive Overdrive 2 in the works.
I loved this game. The Viper shown racing here was awesome - but the REAL prize - if you could learn to handle it - was the Ford GT40. It had SHIT for grip. Slid all over the road, behaved UTTERLY different from any other car in the game and was definitely HARD MODE. BUT - If you could work WITH the car - master it - learn how to corner and make the race slick tire style handling work FOR you in negotiating the turns - it was the ULTIMATE. NOTHING could touch you! NOTHING.
love love love this game!!! very very simple game with a bit of a storyline to it...just all around a great fun game!! brings back some awesome memories!! :)
agreed.... what people don't understand is that graphics keep improving but that doesn't mean a game sucks I still have A N64 because of the childhood and great games I had with it
Awesome again! That track made me think of a title I thin a lot of people have missed. San Fransisco Rush, any chance of getting some Ricpos-action on that tite in any form of future perhaps? /winkwink
I liked this game a lot. The one thing I hated was the cops, especially in Tokyo. The only person they go after is you but sometimes they screw the other drivers over. When my brother and I rented this game a while back, I got so mad at the game because I couldn't get past the 3rd or 4th race in Tokyo because of the cops. I just beat the whole game yesterday, I think.
Definitely a huge game for me around 2002 or 2003. Maybe the first racing game where I would mute the music and have my own CDs playing. Yeah that's right, CDs.
Hated how you couldn't get so far ahead first place of the other drivers, no matter how fast your car was (the player in this video is using the fastest car in the game, yet all the other drivers are always not too far behind :@ )
Always hated racing games.....this was my guilty pleasure. I remember loading a George Thorogood CD into my OG Xbox to play as the backing track for the game. Fit perfectly. Still have the game, and it runs on my 360...but I can't get the music to load.
