Hi James. My problem is that whichever HDMI socket I plug into, I get the 'No Signal' message on the TV. I've checked and rechecked each cable and connection in the setup, and everything works independently. The only thing I can't check is the adapter. Any idea what might be causing the issue?

My ps2 is plugged in and everything but it won’t even connect to the monitor/tv, it just says no signal and then that’s it, if there’s a disc inside it spins and everything, but there’s something wrong with cables or the ps2 itself

Does this work for the red yellow and white cords or just for the hdmi?

Hi James, we need a video to show as how to play PS1 games via OPL with this PS2 to HDMI adapter. As you may know PS1 games play at 240i and the adapter cannot get this low signal. Somewhere I read about txt that can change the resolution inside the game. Can you investigate it and give us a complete solution? Thank you in advance... keep it up !! Your channel is awesome !!

If it still doesn’t work, that means your TV is too old. I tried everything and my last resort was getting a new TV for those that are frustrated and can’t get this to work. I just saved your life.

I hear bad things. There is a version of this that don't like ps1 games. Also with my freemcboot ps2 when i change regains it goes black screen. Components all the way, i picked up hd retrovision ones long time ago working out grate. If a time comes if I get a tv that doesn't support component i always got the framemiester or ill pick up a ossc pro.

This thing sucks man. Just use component cables.

Thanks for guide! It's really helpful Alternative way, if you still have original PS2 cable (RGB), try use it first, then go to settings first and change component cable. After that, without turn off system swap that RGB cable with PS2 Hdmi Converter+Hdmi cable. It works in my case. (for note, make sure you buy good hdmi, cause I try buy cheap one, it's not function)

This actually made it WORSE. I was trying to get this setup on my capture card. I could see the display on the OBS software but not on the TV. The moment I changed the settings to RGB. Now I get ZERO display on both TV AND the capture software. Is there a way to factory reset the PS2 settings back to its original?

I put the pressed the buttons that the picture told me to when I Heard- sounds from my tv. Then, when I did everything, my ps2 just stopped connecting to anything and is now making weird noises. Can someone please tell me what is going on?

Hey. On mine, it's a different issue. No display but after clicking on multiple times (like 10 or 15) it will then display but there won't be any sound or sound is out of order. And if I insert any game disc then the game gets hanged and causes loading issues. If there is any question regarding it then please ask. Would be happy for a reply. Thanks.

This is exactly the kind of "blind" walkthrough needed to make this PS2 To HDMI dongle actually work when you don't have any AV (RGB) ports. Since you can't "see" the PS2 you need to first remove any disc from the console so it boots up in browser mode and then know exactly how many ↓←→↑'s combined with X's to change the console's video output from RGB to composite ("Y Cb /Pb Cr/Pr"). That is not secret code 🤣😂😂😂 Just be direct and tell people to before puting in ps2 console (ps2 ->HDMI konverter) to go on system configuration menu in PS2 and to change from RGB to Y Cb/Pb Cr/Pr and then they can put PS2 to HDMI konverter and play games.

So i bought this scph3001 ps2 and it turns and reads games but it doesnt display anything on the tv, i am using an official av cables from my ps2 slim but i havent gotten a signal or even any audio i tried putting the 3 wires onto the component ports but still nothing and i took a look at the av port on the ps2 and it looks intact i tried these steps and i still got nothing

My PS2 was playing certain games like it would read the disc but stay on a black screen but I found out that all I had to do was plug in the controller and the picture came up

Yeah it’s not working for me. I used an old scart cable and set it to Yr setting instead of RGB but when i turn it off and into the other monitor or my tv its not working. I think the ps2 to hdmi converter is broken then

bro i have the AV cable in and it still doesnt display Ive done the code US way, European, way it doesnt display PS2 just sits on displaying black screen. tried 2 different AV cables and 3 different TVs

I have a problem no one talks about. Turn on PS2 I hear the swoosh sound, I then hear the tone sound but see no visuals until perhaps the last millisecond of the PlayStation 2 logo, then the game loads and all is good. Is it because my TV is only 720p and not 1080 or is it because the PS2 boot up outputs a different rate that my TV isn't fast enough to detect?

Hi, my name is Na'Jay and i recently bought a ps2 to hdmi product. I have a tv that is called sanyo. Everytime i try to play my ps2, the picture or menu screen of the ps2 does not come up. I can not see anything. Do you know how i cam fix this issue

it's not a secret controller combination! The system is on and working but needs to be changed from RGB because the adaptor won't work in that setting..all you are doing is pressing the buttons that will change to the other setting on a black screen and once it's changed, your screen is visible, but very sneaky of you!

Also, you need to remove the game disc since it actually just opens the system settings and change the video color output. If you had a game disc in, it won’t work since it would input the buttons into the game instead and may break something.

Hi, I have a PAL PS2 and bought an Hyperkin PS2 to HDMI converter (the one with the switch for the aspect ratio). The first time, I use the composite cable for set up the PS2 on RGB and clearly follow the step by step guide but it doesn't work, only the stable red light when plugged to external power supply (5V-1A). I so tried to make the "blind" modifies (with the no signal screen) changing both the ps2 video aspect settings and the color profile to Y Cr Cb. Made every possible combination but nothing to do, still doesn't work. What can I do? It's my TV fault? I have an Hisense Vidaa H55B7120. Thanks and have a nice day!
