Thats what the barcode on the screen is doing ,, its giving me a new password but once I type it in it just tells me to scan the barcode again ?? So going to the website is different ???!

You have to go back to very beginning then try to login and always use your device password. Take photo or write it down.

Man I’ve spent the past 4 hours trying to sign in the QR code keeps popping up after I typed the special password in. I’m at a lose. I’ve watched every video about it on RU-vid and its all the same thing. I’ll try again tomorrow. If someone doesn’t help me get signed in I’m probably gonna end up breaking it tomorrow and never buying anything from Sony again. I’m about fed up lol.

You have to write down or take a photo of device password. Always use device password in PS3.

Also after device password is generated go back to beginning in you PS3 then try to sign in.

I did exactly this and i still cant sign in. it says "you cannot sign in using another users sign in ID (email address)." basically ive always used a 2nd account on my ps3, but this method doesn't work when i try to sign in on the main one I use on ps5. Edit: so on ps3, before you sign into your account, you have to select a ‘user’ and I was trying to sign in to 2 different account on 1 user and that’s why it didn’t let me, I can’t believe I didn’t realize this lol, all I wanted was to buy some avatars, anyways, thanks.

If you are not logged in throw in a online multiplayer game like call of duty the it will force you to login before playing online give it a try

This update IMO happened in December 2021. I haven't been able to play online BF3 since. Instead of cussing out Sony. I have not given them a dime since 2013. 😂. I'll be getting the PS5 once GTA6 is released.

Question do you know why a ps3 keeps singing in and out when you are playing games online? I have done exactly what you just showed got my PS3 online. But when I’m playing a online game it will sing me out in the middle of the the game then a cupel seconds later sing me back in it so freakin annoying I’m about to trash Sony and move on to a Xbox instead.

I did this and it still did the same thing 2 weeks later. (I don't use ps3 that often) so this seems to be the best way if you still use it every day. Sony really does blow.

@@llblessedlll - It did. Many thanks. It worked on my PS3 (auto signs in every time), but not my Vita TV. I hafta do a new password every time on that. That doesn't have an auto sign in option that I could find yet. Will try again later. I wish I could have the same generated password for both. Methinks Sony is trying to discourage people from using 'em, 'cause it's a major pain. *EDIT:* Actually, today my Vita TV did work, too (while my PS3 was on). Thanks again!

Ok,but i am having an issue with this generated password for ps3.When i go to use a PS4 i am logged out and have to recover or make a new password,because the ps3 auto generate password messed up my whole account.So what now?

Write down your password that you use for your ps3 and use it for the ps4 when you have the website auto generate you a new password. Make sure you have the 2 step verification activated as well and make sure to save the password to the console by hitting both check marks while logging in on the consoles.

Ok,the weird thing is when i auto generate a password for the ps3 and use it ;it then logs me out of the PS4 system and sometimes my old password will work and sometimes i have to create a new password.It is alot of work just to try and play anything anymore.I miss when things and times were easier.The World is just not the same anymore.I actually am a little worried about even using a PS3 anymore.Thanks for Helping out.

Also on a side note:Everytime a military jet flys over going mach 1 + ,my ps3 turns on by itself and then shuts off after 3 minutes .I have the ethernet out of it when not in use,so it wasn't turning on because of any updates.Weird right?

funny thing happen to me odd thing is i did all the new pass word thing for years right but some how sony killed that pass word & the new one i did like this lol so now i don't know it time to move on lol from the ps3 they got me with this move i put in the new pass word they gave me with the new update like they never gave it to me lol it was a good run with the ps3 i am kind of getting sick of the hoops man still will be online with my ps3 & old account till i can't fix it anymore

Did this and even saved the password. Then opened up RU-vid on the ps3 and it asked me to sign into my PlayStation account AGAIN. Then I go type all the information in and it prompts me to get different passcodes. 5 attempts and I just gave up.
