The way that you put the back case on and guided it into the fiddly ass rails between the shoulder and trigger button finally allowed me to reassemble my controller after hours of frustrating fiddling. Thank you. 🙏
Thank you so much! used your video fix my ps3 "Dualshock 3 Six Axis" controller TONIGHT! -missing L1 BUTTON -cracked open housing due to screw holder stick internals broken (my dad threw my controller bouncing off the floor & walls in rage quit, because he couldn't aim in CALL OF DUTY due to not being used to analog stick response sensitivity 6 YEARS AGO)
R2 connects to white plastic circuit board....then you place/slide controller housing (black plastic) carefully into the R2 L2 BUTTONS SLIP IN OPENING HOLE.
You missed a piece ... It's a little black plastic piece that I saw fall out and you picked it out of the controller where it fell but you didn't put it back in place
GUYS, THE CLAMP IS SURPRISINGLY SIMPLE TO OPEN WITHOUT BREAKING! Once all the screws are out, the clip is on the bottom inside and attaches to the top inside, so all you have to do is firmly press in on the very center of the bottom part of the clip (basically the bottom half of the controller in between the two joystick cylinders. Push relatively hard and pull apart at the same time. It should just slide right out without breaking!
Other than just cleaning the buttons, the rubber pads, and the button contact points with rubbing alcohol, there isn’t. That I know of at least. Hope this was helpful.
One of my triggers came off the ribbon and it's a nightmare to get it back on right between the rubber. I've left it for a while cos it was driving me mad!
Same here, i know this is an older video, but after reassembling i noticed that the L1 and R1 button arent springing back like usual and they seem to not work anymore, anychance you ran into this?
I am the only one or My Ps3 Dualshock 3 Sixixis Controller have a blue thing insise on the green thing + The R2 button doesn't come off bc it somehow stings there on the controller back.
@2:03 Okay so what happened was the clamp that holds the lower part got snapped off? I had to say opening sixaxis is hard compared to DS3s without the clamp.
Infiltraitor it was. It’s a pain to take apart the controller if it hasn’t been opened up before. In case if anything goes wrong with the controller at some point, it’s easier to just break the clamp off.
@@FlyingV555 and that happened on mine earlier, after watching this video. There's just no way how to open it without breaking the clamp, like it was not meant to be opened. If it wasn't for your video, it would have felt worse breaking it.
I fucking hate PS3 controller. They are the worst designed, and the worst to fix. You could go in trying to just replace a joystick that doesn’t have rubber on it, and the whole thing just falls apart. A literal pain in the ass
@@FlyingV555 thanks for the quick response!!! i think it's a flaw... it should work anyways i think... the reassembly is not easy XD the 1 buttons and triggers are tricky.
