PS4 CONTROLLER NOT CONNECTING - EASY FIX (August 2024) 

what if my controller charges but doesn’t connect??

it can also be your TV, modern TV's has a setting with the ps4 making the remote controll the dominant one making your ps4 not the main one, you turn this off in the systems settings and un check ENABLE HDMI LINK DEVICE, that is what is causing the problem, you put the tv in hdmi mode and turn off the tv and turn it on again, it should start your ps4 with the controller working, then go to system and uncheck, worked for me and it was the only thing out of all the " fixes " that worked. i hope this helped !

I’ve tried it all and it hasn’t worked. I even tried another usb cable but it won’t work. It charges but once I take the controller off of the charger it turns right off and I can’t turn it on again

I’m pretty sure there’s something wrong with my console. FIX: Download the app “ps remote play” turn on the console and in the app click search and it’ll connect to your PlayStation. It takes a while so be patient. Once your phone is connected go to the console settings, Bluetooth and then on your DualShock controller hold down options and the home button until it starts flashing and it’ll pop up in your Bluetooth settings to connect. Hope that makes sense? Once it connects it should be back to normal

this is the 7th video I have watched and still can't get either one of my controllers to connect.

I have a similar but completely different problem my controller will be on but I can't use it and my ps4 won't turn off unless I unplug it. This only happens when I'm online.

I just wait a couple of days and try those exact things for a second time, and it usually works..

I tried everything but the only thing that seemed to work for me is unplugging the PlayStation 4 from the power outlet, then waiting just a few minutes, and then plugging it back in. It worked like a charm. Thanks for the video.

DO YOU THINK SONY learns a lesson with wireless controllers? Major headache with ps3 wireless controllers that cannot turn on or charge, now PS4 controllers have problems too? WHEN SOMETHING IS NOT BROKEN DON'T FIX IT= BRING BACK WIRED CONTROLLERS PLEASE because there was never a problem with PS2 wired controllers not turning on or not connecting. AT LEAST have wireless controllers with 2 inputs, one input wired normally like a ps2 controller where it doesn't rely on a stupid rechargable battery inside, then if you want that wireless, remove that wire and plug it into the other input on the same controller with the battery inside to fully charge the controller so you can make it wireless if you so desire to get the headaches. GET IT?

I’m taking my console and the tempo bought to GameStop, they gonna connect it or take the remote back and give me some sort of credit.

My problem is my controller charges when connected to my ps4 but will not connect and still blink blue? Fixed! I just went to walmart and got the charger from the playstation area :)

Please respond to this, if anyone seeing this it's like the PS4 controller is on and not doing anything and I reset it and it's still doing it it's like there's two controllers I can hear stuff through my headphone working and it's not working

I just threw my controller like 10 feet on the air and let it hit concrete and then stomped on it untill it broke so that gets red anger very good

My controller is connected but it suddenly stops registering button inputs until I reset it then it works for awhile before it stops again. If I'm moving then my character continues to move until I reset it excetre excetre.

i tried everything, when i plug it in it charges, but when i press (or hold) the ps button, it flashes white then back to orange also i cant check if its connected or smth because it says "cannot connect to ps4" "please connect controller with USB cable"

So my controller connects when I have the USB cable plugged in but as soon as I don’t have it plugged in it immediately disconnects any fixes?

I need help. It still doesn’t work. I have spend over 5 hours over the period of about a week or so trying to fix this. I’ve tried everything including putting my ps4 into safe mode, and now I’m basically stuck in safe mode. I’ve used about 15 different micro usb cables and they all work to charge the controllers (2 controllers), but they don’t work to connect them to the ps4. Both controllers work while connected in safe mode ONLY (but I’m stuck because I clicked on resolution/default settings, and both options don’t allow me to connect after the initial click. Now when I start up the ps4 it wants to continue changing the resolution and/or default setting, but the controllers won’t connect). Both controllers do work on on my phone or other devises. I’ve disconnected them from everything and forgotten the devises from my phone to prevent interference, I’ve tried resetting each controller between and cable attempt and turning off the ps4 between each cable attempt/ resetting the controllers via the little hole on the backs, I’ve tried every combination of USB port (2 ports) and cord and controller, I’ve left the whole ps4 unplugged from power overnight, I’ve tried and failed at using a keyboard, ps app/remote play isn’t connected and won’t work. Should I try getting a “data” cable, and assume all 15 USB’s are bad/not correct? Or am I fucked? Thank you for any help or insight on the matter!
