I've seen people run older phones from 6 plus months ago when the ps4 update allowed remote play with android. Now everyone is saying for the ps4 controller to work it has to be android 10?! This has throw me for a loop! I I read android 10 firmware release back in September! Guess not all android devices will run android 10. My phone isn't that old but only way to get a10 is if I download it as a rom pkg(basically a custom firmware mimicking a10). I purchased online brand spanking new samsung tablet. Then I read the tablet has android 9 on it! Now I am worried I wont be able to update it! I want remoteplay specifically for portable ps4 gaming! I am pretty tech savvy but this has gotten frustrating! Lol. I think I'll just buy a used ps vita and save this headache.

there’s an easier way to do this on ios. at first you can enable remote play on your phone but not on your main account like an alt or something. then you wanna on your ps4 controller and go to your main account. and wala! it works!

You can use a xbox controller too. Found that out today. I don't have a ps4 clip but a xbox one controller grip and it's easy and works.

I'm sorry for my English 😂 but I find a solution. If you use different account with the app and the ps4, you can use the remote play like a "guess", only for look who play the ps4 without interact with them (you can't interact with the controls of the app) . So you can use the dualshock 4 connected to the ps4 and use the smartphone only like a second screen.

Sony use to have remote play on their blue ray players.

I just have my main account signed in on ps4 and then on my phone I use a second sony account and I can use my controller if that helps anyone who can't use Bluetooth connection with the controller to phone

Well, my phone isn't android 10 so I can't use my controller. The touch screen works but there's no point trying to use it lol.

If anyone is having problems using the ds4 for galaxy phones its because android 10 hasnt released yet for galaxy the only phone that has it is the google pixel but dont worry it will come out maybe this month so just wait it out.

They honestly should bring call of duty mobile for switch is easy all they need to do is the controls and frames and stuff like that

But the only disadvantage of this if your console is not nearby is that you will only be restricted to the only game(disk) in your console except your games are digitally downloaded on your console

Playing on your phone is a pain without a controller. They give us rempte play but they don't give controller support. Just bs

Wow actually works

If your device doesn't support the DS4 controller all you have to do is make a different PS4 account, use remote play with that account on your phone to that account on the PS4, then turn on the controller like you would normally do on the PS4 and login as your primary account or the account you want to use, press the PS button and it's going to take you to the menu of your primary account, you'll be able to play in that account with the controller while in remote play

How can you connect without android 10? I tried yesterday with fresh install of remote play app and version 7 on ps4. But as soon as I connected dualshock over bluetooth, I got error.

I had issue with remote play when I was doing it at home but when I went to work which is four miles away from where I live, it worked great. My wifi is top tier and I had zero issues away from home. I played for eight hours on my ipad pro while at work, played Days Gone, Watch Dogs 2 and Skyrim. The games looked great in 1080p on the ipad pro as well. The down side is if you have a weak internet then it really doesn't work.

unfortunately it's even laggier than Vita or PC remote play. Almost entirely unplayable. I guess it makes sense because I've always noticed that any game you play on android has much more input lag than a dedicated console like Vita or Switch but I was still kind of hoping it would have less lag. Sony can do better frankly. It's not entirely their fault that there's lag, even without remote play games have lag but there's more than there needs to be. If you look at Steam Link, you see why I think Sony can do better. Steam link is a cheap piece of crappy hardware that will often glitch and restart BUT, it has much less input lag than any remote play app on PC, Android, or Vita. Even if you hook up your PS4 and PS TV or PC via ethernet cable, you still get 80ms lag at least while Steam Link can get as low as 20ms lag, or 30 ms even over wifi. With android, I'm guessing the input lag is MINIMUM 150ms, but honestly I think it's more like 250ms. Just making an educated guess but I wouldn't be surprised at all if NXGamer or Digital Foundry tests it, and finds that Android remote play has 250+ ms of input lag. AKA, unplayable

I believe the version of Android needs to be Android 10 or above which only the latest phones have. This seems really silly and excludes a large amount of people

If u don't have android 10 or higher and want To use controller... Log into secondary account or make a secondary account... Connect to remote play... Then switch user on remote play and press ps button on controller and it should still work... Once or twice it didn't but now it's working... I tested various games no lag and controller works...a good work around

Finally I can remote play with my android. Except that my dualshock 4 wont pair with android 9. So this awesome feature is still useless. Disappointed to say the least.

You can use the controller with phone by making a new account and signing in to ps4 and remote play app and press ps button on controller and go to main account and you could now use controller with phone

Closer... but still sucks. No 6axis support via phone gyros or the ds4 paired over blue tooth. No support for native android controllers that attach to phones and tablets more comfortably. Also the connection still leaves a lot to be desired. Wish they could get their act together to make something equivalent to the Steam Link app.

Fyi if you have a small c type to micro usb cable you can use your ps4 dualshock with ps4 remote play. No pairing required just plug and play.Only thing that doesnt work is the touch pad so have to use on screen touch pad for that. I have a galaxy s8 with android 9.0 and it works fine.

Note: If you have a Android device it has to have Android 10 to connect your PS4 controller. It will not work if you don't have the Android 10 software and there is not many phones that have it. Hopefully in the future PlayStation will include Android 8 and 9. Now you can still remote play on your touch screen Android device, but it is real hard to play your favorite games. They do make a Android touch-screen controller that you can purchase online. PlayStation dropped the ball on this one, but I haven't lost hope in them. It's almost a tease to most of the PS4 Android users that Doesn't have the newest smart phone. Thanks for the video and I hope this helped y'all out 👍

Is anyone else experiencing like half a second of input lag? I'm doing it on my Galaxy S10 Plus and it works great except for that half second of input lag. My PS4 Pro is using a cat 7 cable and is Type 2 NAT type. I don't know of any other way to get rid of that little bit of input lag that makes it difficult to play anything
