UPDATE : THE PS5 NOW SUPPORTS 120HZ ON MONITORS HAVING THIS ISSUE WITHOUT ANY EDID EMULATOR WITH THE PS5 NEW SOFTWARE UPDATE : Settings > screen and video > Enable 120hz output to Automatic.
Mine works just fine, just plug your hdmi from the ps5 straight into the monitor, make sure performance mode is on and make sure 120hz setting is automatic. That’s how it worked for me

I know this video is old but just bought an Acer monitor from Costco. Wouldn’t pick up to 120hz. The monitor was perfectly capable of doing it. My Xbox series X and S picked up 120hz but not my PlayStation. Bought one of these emulators from Amazon and boom. 120hz. It sucks I have to go through all this but if someone else now or in the future needs some feedback back, know this works for sure! Thanks man

Thank you very much, I bought the dr.hdmi 4k, and using your method, I was able to bypass the whole downloading updates using a pc step!! Your the best , thank you so much. I paid double price for my ps5 on the first day it came out , just to play cod at 120hz..but I had to wait till today. Could have waited and got it for regular price, f Sony.

Bro shout out to u man mine came in today and it worked perfectly, I was able to get 4K resolution on my monitor and I didn’t even know it supported it (asus mg248Q monitor) saved $1,000
One thing that you have to bear in mind before using this device (on some monitors) is that once you've turned off HDCP, you cannot run any streaming platforms at all and you cannot turn on HDR either. If you are watching RU-vid, Netflix, prime video, Disney+, twitch, or even listen to music on Spotify, I'd suggest not to use this device at all because it requires you turning off HDCP. If you're set up does not require you to turn off HDCP and still maintain 120hz then you're good to go. I have yet to determine why that is so if anybody knows why, leave a comment but the emulator does what it says as I'm playing at 1080p at 120hz on 2.0.
It’s really dumb but basically hdmi was designed as a form of drm, so when hdcp is turned off the monitor tells the pc that it shouldn’t allow the user to use streaming services and a few other things. DisplayPort is basically hdmi without the drm, it was designed by a nonprofit organization who hated the idea of drm
LEGEND!! it didn't work for me at first, so instead of pressing down once on the controller i had press down twice until i got to 1080p, all on a blank screen!
Probably there is on Need for a vid, but could you tell us if both work together? Without significant input lags? And you connect both of them, Right ? So ps5 -> EDID -> Astro -> Monitor? Or do you connect ps5 -> EDID -> Monitor and then astro -> Monitor seperately? Would really appreciate an answer!

Bro can you do a video using the Astro hdmi adapter the way you cabled everything in? Aswell as a video on your Astro headset settings including you mixed amp setting? I just bought the Astros A50s recently with the Astro hdmi adapter too. Let me know your setup mate.

@@OzzieOzbalik I have the same as you, AW2521HF. I bought the HP - x21ih. $250, 1080p 144hz monitor and have had zero issues with it. But I will most definitely be returning it if I can get this cable to work with my Alienware one since I can no longer return that one.

@@yousifnazar1691 I’ve been using it for around a month and i haven’t noticed anything different. Only problem is having to take it out and put my HDMI back in without when I want to use the media stuff like Netflix. It’s worth getting if you want 120fps for the likes of rainbow and cod.
Guess im one of the unlucky ones i’ve followed this video step by step and nothing, dont know if my hdmi ports are capped at 60hz ive got the omen x 25f 240hz monitor but this method just isnt working. Edit: i got it working, for some reason the 120hz didnt activate till i turned the setting on in game for those that have the astro adapter it also works with that.

@@theshowtime4123 yes it does it gets really hot but you don’t have to worry about but it’s not gonna stop working or anything it’s fine just make sure to unplug it when your not using it or when you get off the game
Hey I picked up the 4K uHD chip, I have the Alienware aw2518h, After adding the chip to my hdmi screen changed but doesn’t get black screen goes right in, I change to 1080p, I fire up Warzone and I get black screen, it loads up I can hear volume but no screen trying with 120hz at 1080
Awesome! Dell owns alien wear so my hz counter looks exactly the same. Hope I can change it to 120 for the first time when my emulator gets in! My monitor is 144hz.

Thank you so much, i now get 120fps on supported games, also my monitor can now fool the ps5 into sending it a 4k signal, so 4k 60fps, all for a bargain price. i went through all the settings one by one, turning off hdcp is what made the difference for me 😉
It works. But be very carful. Because connecting your hdmi to that, and then the input, rather that he on your tv or ps5, you can start to detect some input latency issues on your dual sense controller dealing with certain games. Like black ops 3, if you play that on the ps5.

It works but am having problems running games i was trying to test Fortnite cause its 120 and when i lunch it. It turns to the 120hz but just stays in the black screen what should i do. Ive got a benq XL2411p monitor
I just tried this with the Logilink HD0105 and I can say it does not work out of the box, unfortunately. Kinda frustrating. So IF you have access to a device that does support 120hz with the PS5 you can use the Logilink to clone that EDID and use it on a screen that does not work with the PS5. So. I just ordered two of the EVanlak 4K UHD adapters. They should be here in about 10 days. It seems like that one does work out of the box? Would be awesome to finally get 120hz on the PS5. I tested my screen on the PC and i can get 240hz via HDMI just fine. Stupid that the PS5 does not support monitors that are a few years old :( Thanks for the video btw dude.

I have it and I have a ps5 with a 165 ha monitor and the emulator I plugged it in and did everything and when I press down on the d pad and x like u did nothing happend it still said input not supported

@@WavyGoCrazy HEY BRO, doesn’t work on that model as the hdmi can only get 60fps but display port does all the rest so for pc it’s amazing, just for the H model it’s not compatible
I have a Dell U2717D and I tried this exact emulator but my monitor gave me the message “The current input timing is not supported by the monitor display. Please change your input timing to 2560 x 1440, 60Hz or any other monitor listed timing as per the monitor specifications.” My monitor only has an HDMI 1.4 input port. Is there anything I can do to fix this…?
@@OzzieOzbalik yeah, i was ready to wait till Sony came out with an update for it, saw this video in my recommended and thought I’d give it one more try. Only annoying thing is i can’t listen to Spotify but for now this is a easy workaround
Hey i finally got the exact same emulator, but i do everything as you say in the video, and it still dosent work. I got an alienware aw2720hf monitor. It just shows a black screen. And when i change to hdmi only again, it shows that i havent changed the resolution, as if i havent pressed it when it showed black screen.

When I turn my ps on and off it’s switching res. Like I got it working, I turned off ps turned back on and I get the blank screen each time and ya e to redo it
No you need a 2.0 hdmi port you only have a 1.4 hdmi port.You can buy any monitor that’s 1080p as long as you have a 2.0 hdmi port with the adapter shown on the video.
The link in the description takes me to the 1080p emulator. When I try to switch to the 4K, it only allows me to buy a 2 pack of emulators for almost $40. Is this just because Amazon is out of stock or is there another emulator I could get?
Any help i have alienware aw2518h-not hf... i dont get no error message..just a black screen..all settings the same only thing i notice is my hdmi says - bi directional EDID GHOST . its is 4kuhd..any ideas ?
Just hit purchased on Amazon I’ve been having this problem since release date on ps5 & I have that same exact Alienware monitor and the new Ips panel one the 25 inch black one hopefully it works for me too thanks 🙏
