@@kidrobot. Doesn't matter. Scalpers suck no matter what. They make things so much worse, just like car dealers and their insane markups. It's all driven by greed, which will be the ultimate downfall of some.
Exactly! Sony could easily make a million of these and sell them for $50-$100 above MSRP for the paint job and make a lot more money instead of just making 12,000 ish units. It doesn’t make financial sense at all to make a limited amount when hundreds of thousands if not millions of gamers want this console
Sony and Ebay have a partnership. So any PS5 scalped on Ebay can be stopped by Sony as a none authorized dealer. They let it happen. Some PS5s sold said shipped directly from Sony, because it was Sony selling them.
@@Squishmallows24Tell that to the people that buy IPhones every year, FIFA every year, Call of Duty every year Not every one is you. Internet does not equal real life
Not because of actual demand but becuase of extremely low stock and scalpers. If you don't know the context you'd think Sony is just so popular! Thanks IGN you really kept me informed with the title!
This is explained in the video which you didn’t watch on the video watching website because you rushed to the comments after reading a headline instead.
Are you 10 years old or something 😂 Not everyone thinks like you. Just because YOU don't like something does not mean there aren't millions of people that do.
Imagine in 20 years, someone buys one for for $20,000 not knowing a system update is required on boot or to setup the drive and the servers are gone/unavailable.
@@SunGodNikaUsopp Nothing to understand. Spending because of nostalgia bait is for low IQ low Impulse control individuals. Stop wasting your money this gen just buy a PC.
Rich people that already have everything will need a reason to spend money. Trust me, those triple the price Limited Edition PS5 Pro will sell. What a fkn shame. Why not just make all the PS5 Pro Consoles be the style of the OG PS1 Console. That away everyone can be satisfied. Sony doesn't give a fk. Their pocket gets fatter no matter what.
Sony obviously made a limited number for exactly this purpose, get quick cash from the scalpers for a limited edition design for a pro console that the public didn't want. Sony only care about there sales, they need to remember with great power comes great responsibility. -1 for sony.
It’s really easy. I wake up every morning to make videos about video games, movies, and pop culture with a bunch of coworkers I love to work with. Beats working retail again.
@Squishmallows24 nahh that's unlikely, unless they are a millionaire, cause a regular everyday person trying to spend over a couple grand in stores raises Eye brows
If Sony truly had our best interests in mind, they would have pulled a surprise move after the event by saying, “Just kidding! The 30th Anniversary PS5 Pro bundle won’t be limited to 12,000 units. In fact, it’s going to be a permanent addition to our lineup.” The resale market would have tanked instantly, and the scalpers would be left scrambling. A dream scenario, right? 😅
Making them availiable Online only was a mistake. They should've made half of them only availible to pre-order ins tore to be safe from bots/scalpers & let you pre-order them in-store aswell.
Had no chance, same 1 hour+ queue, was watching other people - was already sold out regardless of what time it was. Saw very very very little success purchases
90% of the bots spending the extra money to get scalped are the same ones that barely know how to play games and rely on youtube or tik tok to carry them through
This isn’t entirely true. I’m not sure if they were releasing in batches or if people were canceling orders, but some people were posting they got theirs bought up to 45 minutes after the launch
not everyone is scalpers. some people think online communities are a real representation of real life, its not. people online can say im not buying ps5 pro, no one is going to buy it, etc. doesnt mean thats true for the general public. the ps5 pro isnt for the general gamer, its for the enthusiast
Well if all the rich techies werent such wierdos and buy no matter what then resellers wouldnt even be able to resell this dumb consoles. Sony makes thier money either way.
