Literally not what he says! He says specifically at 7:30 that this a luxury item that most ps5 owners are not going to need. He himself is only getting one to cover it
So when all these RU-vidrs trashed something they haven’t tried you believed them but when they like something they’ve tried they’re lying? That’s some great logic there.

@@SpiderLukeprobably not. I will buy it cause if I bought a pc In Canada with ps5 pro specs that shit running me 1600 after tax, probably more than that
No one can convince me so far these improvements are worth $780(with disc drive no stand), if I'm gonna spend almost $1k on a console and accessories I'd rather buy a pc for a few bucks more
Of course you "changed your mind" because this is a sponsored opinion. Before you argue it's not sponsored, you got something for your time to go experience it. They paid for your experience, flew you out for the experience event.
You are 100% on the mark with this one. He only changed his mind because Sony got him a ticket to the PS5 Pro event and a flight ticket to the event. XD
Problems with the PS5 Pro. 1. Mid-gen refreshes are not necessary. The XBOX One and PS4 were underpowered consoles built with off-the-shelf parts to save money and guarantee profit on consoles sold at or near launch. The PS4 Pro and XBOX One X were what we were SUPPOSED to get instead of the XBOX One and PS4. 2. I have yet to hear anyone either in person or online that owns a PS5 complain AT ALL about the graphics or performance. NO ONE........ The _consumer_ is supposed to have the loudest voice. Not the _developers._ Anyone that cannot achieve their "artistic vision" with a console as powerful as the PS5 which developers haven't even come anywhere close to maxing out needs to go find a different career because clearly they are not qualified to do this. If Nintendo can achieve their "artistic vision" with hardware that is over a decade old and only somewhere north of the 7th gen in terms of raw horsepower, developers should have no trouble with the PS5 which they haven't even scratched the surface with yet. 3. *NOTHING* Sony has shown warrants a consumer dropping $700 for a console, $80 for a disc drive, $30 for a stand, PLUS TAX. If you don't already have any PS5 games, tack on another $70 for *ONE* AAA game that justifies the reasoning or purpose for the PS5 Pro to exist, and you are at, or around $930 USD. Nah, bruh. You can miss me with this.
I agree so hard. Every other gen of consoles, mid run you'd begin seeing new games struggle or hiccup occasionally because the devs had maxed out the potential they had until they made pro equivalents. This gen, everyone 4 years in, are still begging for any good game to play period, let alone maxing out the potential. Releases in general have been weak for gaming.
@@tinystar3010 Exactly. The lack of 1st-party games is the only complaint that I've heard regarding the PS5 and this PS5 Pro does not address or help that problem at all.
They're creating a problem so they can sell you their "solution."😂 Unoptimized games-> Sony: oh, wait! You need a "pro." Your 3 or 4 year console is a trash. Have our pro instead
Ooooh, wow, such luxury, being able to look at leaves or confetti at a 5% sharper resolution and now being told that we'll actually get 60FPS, totally justifies paying 900$ to 1,000$ for it. I'll just get a gaming PC instead.
Of course changed your mind, I will pay 800 euros and you paid 0 euro/dollar. If sony give me a free ps5 pro, my mind will change too mate. Sorry ps5 must running 4k/60fps games of ps4. U cant change our mind.
they weren't given a PS5 Pro... its much better. an all expense paid from travel, accommodation, meal, first hand experience, memorabilia souvenirs, and chance to win the 40th anniversary edition. That $700 is a cheap sponsorship package if you were in the caliber of Kevin.
He isn't trying to change our mind... He's giving his opinion. Like he said, it's a luxury item. No one NEEDS to buy this and he NEVER said that people SHOULD. Again, "the PS5 Pro is not for everyone".
@@ChaingearGaming yeah, not anyone directly say " yeah u have to buy 800 euro console". They are talking so positive about sponsor's console mate. It will be a great deal with %20-30 sale in black friday or holiday. But for a remastered machine in this moment, nope.
If sony did a trade service where you could get your money back for your ps5 and pay the difference for upgrading in a similar way to upgrading these remasters. I'd be onboard, but for 800 quid in the UK, they can go whistle

@@zulfika_I watched it. You look like an 🫏 now, because your assumption was incorrect. Shilling is an art form at this point, they KNOW, we know, they get paid to do it, so, to prevent backlash and lawsuits, they play a very conservative and even somewhat objective role while toning back or completely backpedaling on the negatives, while tending to exaggerate the “positives”. That is shilling, that is what was done here but I do find it was great video all the same, I am just noting it was paid and bought for by Sony. I am not mad at Kevin, but PS is super slick. They are going all out to brainwash us into thinking $700.00 for a “refresh” is fine while also raising the prices of the original, older hardware and accessories. If the Pro was $600, I wouldn’t really complain but that extra $100 is to ensure MAXIMUM profit, don’t be fooled….
More confetti, you now could see the pole that holds a Flag, better reflection on the car, and more leave. What a great console. And nice AD for the pro you're doing a better job than PS, how much did they paid you my guy... 🤣
This is so dumb. If you let me try a Lamborghini, of course I'm going to say it's better than my Mazda 3. But I obviously cannot afford a Lamborghini . Not to be dramatic, but I unsubscribed because of this
Except this console comparison is more of a Mazda 3 vs a Mazdaspeed Mazda 3. Only slightly better. If it actually was Lamborghini levels better, the entire community wouldn't be against the Pro right now.
Love your content but this video sounds like a Mark Cerny teleprompter video. Idc what no one says..the pro is a rip off. If you pay this price now you will pay more later. This system is still gonna run games at 30 fps. Oh and do you really need this to play old games? No. The reg ps5 is already good.
I know it may seem early to talk about it, but I'm nervous about how much the PS6 will cost. Unless it can play all the PlayStation games in history maybe the price would be justified.
The problem with the Pro has been terrible messaging. People seem to like it once they get their hands on it, which means that the marketing has dropped the ball heavily. I really wish they had a driver- level FPS unlock feature on the Pro. Us with VRR TVs want to use it to the max- something that I can obviously do on PC.
The people who seem to like it are highly specialized players, usually content creators. That means for extreme enthusiasts that don't mind the exorbitant price, it's okay. Not for regular consumers though
This is EXTREMELY common in journalism. Especially with new products that can’t just be sent out in the wild. If you trust the reviewer and the fact they disclosed the trip was comped then you gotta just accept this is how the industry works. We will obviously get more first hand experience when it’s on sale for anyone to buy this is just an early hands on. If you trust Kevin less now that’s fine but to punish him for taking a trip to see an unreleased product that isn’t available at retail yet that seems like a big leap after year of good well thought out content
That literally makes sense. You can argue he's biased or whatever but it's not out of the world to change your mind when you see something in person herp derp
He literally got to try the console firsthand. Of course that's gonna change his opinions. And in fact he still reiterate most of the same points he did prior, it's not for everyone and the changes still don't justify the costs for a lot of people. There is just better clarity on the differences the ps5 pro makes. What are you on about? Sony gives him a chance to fly him over to experience it firsthand and that warrants a thumbs down? Lol
@@pruett89 if he gives a negative opinion he wouldn't be invited to try anything new again so he gives a positive opinion now? Shilling culture is getting out of hand.
Just wait for ps6 pro. I can’t be bothered with these generations anymore. The jump from launch model ps5 to a hypothetical ps6 Pro may justify a new console. Then again it may not and I’ll be fine going without. Especially if it finally goes digital only. I’m not playing the game these megacorps want me to play anymore.
I think with hindsight, a PS5 Pro would have made sense for FF7 Rebirth since performance mode was pretty underwhelming. However, I'm already finished with Rebirth. That benefit is gone now. And every other game I've played has run great on a base PS5
I don't have any doubt the PS5 Pro will be great....but at that price, for a mid-gen upgrade, it doesn't matter. Let's say the PS6 in 2028 launches at $600-700....if the games are there, I'd rather spend that money on a full next generation system with it's own games.
I'm glad that you had the ability to use the PS5 Pro but none of these features or anything that it has really does make me want to buy it. sure because they're doing a 30 year anniversary edition or it's 40% more efficient in some aspects that's still not enough for me to wanna do it. Shit for $700 I can get a PC that does 400% more
Most of these games being demonstrated on ps5 pro are also ps4 games.... my guy we haven't even seen what these "next gen consoles" can do. The only next gen game we have seen on the ps5 is Alan Wake 2. That game barely even hits 1080p on the ps5 btw!!! This system is a scam. Console gaming right now is just a scam.
Significant differences aside -- unless Sony/Game Stop is giving the equivalent at least $450 for my trade in PS5 (with disk drive), this is a HARD NO. Rebates, store/game credits/vouchers work as well. Sony better think out of the box if they want my money on this one. ESPECIALLY with such a poor game record so far in this generation. (Upgrade just to REPLAY some games????)
We know you cant flat out say the price doesn't justify the minor updated and say its a scumbag move. My og ps5 for $499.99 came with the disc drive, stand, & promise of 8k capabilities. We know you know and thats cool.
My criticism with this video is that the later half of the video should have been first, then the first half after. It feels like the second half was way more genuine and full of good opinions, while the first is very much pandering to Sony. After watching the video twice, and thinking about it, I think the PRO is cool, but without a disk drive for 700 just doesn't make the cut. If it was 600 with the drive, heck yeah, it would be the best and people would eat it up.
What I posted in a few of Sony's own videos, if they included the drive, the stand, and swapped the base controller for the dualsense edge "pro" controller instead, I'd happily pay $700, because at that point, it's actually an upgrade over base.
If the current system can't even be pushed to its limits to most, if not all, games currently, this "pro" is useless 🚫 We're just at this point of time where tech is reaching it's peak to even remotely see a difference anymore, especially since our eyes and physiological senses can only process so much 👀 Either way, I just hope this gen will stick around for at least 5-7 more years, so more games can be developed and show it's true potential when making the impossible possible ⏰️🎮
Don’t forget disk drive and stand and it’s $810 before tax! The screen you’re playing on has to be able to showcase the console as well. Not worth it at all unless you have money burning a hole in your pocket.
@@MadSkillz76 A giant red flag to you, which you've missed. Should the the fact NO ONE has been allowed to record gameplay yet from the supposed system. And how Sony were very 'lose' with its capabilities. But you carry on believing the BS Sony is feeding you, just like how the OG PS5 would run 8K games...
@@marksapollo Well, Digital Foundry went through about 11 games and the guy who played the games explained what was good and not so good in the games and I trust them over you so yeah, it's a pretty decent console...tired of people just sitting behind a keyboard judging everything they haven't even tried out and think anyone who likes something they don't are the wrong ones...no one is right or wrong...if you don't like the Pro that's you, not everyone.
@@MadSkillz76 People who complain will never admit it, but they want it and are mad they can't afford it. Their rational side of their brain (if they can access it) will tell them that sony doesn't create ANY peice of hardware inside the ps5 pro. They must outsource every single component elsewhere. Now factor in the r&d development, as well as having specific RT technologies and upscaling technologies not even found in existing RDNA 3 gpus, the overall cost of things, $700 for this is actually not really crazy. Not to mention, it's not like they have stopped selling the original console! Can't afford the pro? Get the base. Should Nvidia charge less for the 4090? Maybe. But if you can't afford that, you can buy the 4060. People are ridiculous and want top of the line for budget price. Not remotely close to reality.
It's not effective if it still isn't showing a real benefit. Example, in Spider-Man, are you at anytime stopping trying to stare out at the surroundings to look for flag poles? No. In most games you're intently focused on the action in the moment, flying fast, fighting enemies. These extremely minor details will never stand out unless you fully stop to intentionally look for them. A Pro needs to bring real features and benefits you don't get from a base.
This is why i never trust people who get paid by the company to advertise their stuff. Of course they will say good things if they get flew out by the company to play their stuff. It never feels genuine, anyway I’m happy to see people aren’t falling for this
Yeah you can tell it's faked opinion because he doesn't sound excited from seeing it first hand. It's more like "oh yeah, I do see the flagpoles in Spider-Man 2 from further away now.." big improvement lol
@@tinystar3010The truth is if you have a high spec PC he’s probably seen just as good fidelity, so why should he jam it up for the camera like it’s the best thing since sliced bread. He just said his opinion after digesting his thoughts. It’s not like the jump from PS2 - PS3 graphics or something.
Looks like this channel is getting added to the list of 'do not recommend' I'd "change my mind" too if Sony flew me out, put me up in a great hotel, and paid me to endorse the PS5 Pro. This video is just an ad at this point and for that, I'm out.
All due respect, where in the video did he say he got paid to endorse the pro? He simply said that he was flown for a day to their offices to get a hands on demo. Being transparent that Sony comped his flight is now grounds for immediate assumption of dishonesty? This has been standard practice for most pre release consoles/games for years now, why is now a problem? Second, Kevin along with digital foundry and other outlets were there too, are they also shills now? Also, this isn’t a glowing impression of the thing overall, he notes that the improvements are fairly significant but outright states that most ps5 owners don’t really need this
"Sony flew me out". Credibility gone at that stage, for shame, Kevin. This why I respect folks like Skill Up and his team, who will always refuse freebie trips and pay their own way - you can trust their opinion much more IMO.
Maybe getting flown out and put up for an invite only event made you forget how expensive $700 is To put it in perspective. The PS4 pro was $399 when it launched, and it came with a disc drive. Now, the PS5 pro is $699, without the disc drive, and without the stand. If you want the disc drive, that is an eye watering total of $779 At that price you are in striking distance of building a PC that will stomp the shit out of the PS5 pro. There is no context where that price is acceptable.
Your comment shows your lack of common sense. Why are you adding the price of a disc drive to the pro then comparing that price to a PC? Do you think you get physical games on PC? No it's all digital. So if you had any common sense you would at least compare the PS5 Pro price with no disc drive to a PC.
can someone help me i wanna buy a ps5 but i dont have the money . Does anyone have any recommendations of how i get safe up enough money in a 1 month or so (as a young teen)
I don't know how much help this will be. When I was a young teen back when I was gaming on the Genesis/N64 and Playstation when it was coming up to the new generation I'd sell my old games on the school playground and offer bundle deals if you wanted my console with games and controllers and then upgrade that way. I also had a paper route I did for years to help out with spending money. For my N64 I shoveled driveways in the canadian winter. I did a lot of hustling to get my stuff as my parents didn't buy me consoles for Christmas or birthdays. They'd get me a game here and there but the console I always had to figure out how to buy it myself. The only console they ever bought me was an NES back in 1987. That was it. I had that NES until I saved and bought myself a Sega Genesis with Street Fighter 2 in 1992 or 93. I know, it was always hard but I always figured out a way. Being a young teen is tough.
Very cynical in the comments. He disclosed everything prior and literally just talked about the benefits of the Pro. It wasn't all positive either, there were some critique's in there. If you're complaining about the price that's one thing so just don't get it lol. This is solid info if you have the TV's to take advantage of the Pro. Get your panties out of a bunch folks lmao
i am a huge fan of AC and i have played all the games in the franchise AC Shadows however seems like a very hard pill to swallow and i might just skip it on principle
Clickbait......i am sure they will receive the collector's edition of the console for saying how good the ps5 pro is !! You will see all these influencers will get a collector's edition its a real scam !!!
No increase in fps. It just enables both 60fps mode and resolution mode simultaneously. If it say added 60fps to resolution mode and had the option for standard resolution but at an increased 120fps, I couldn't argue it's a Pro. But at as, it's just an amateur.
