I would have subbed even if I didn't agree with you or DF based on my personal knowledge of the hardware. But after reading this comment I am not. Maybe stop being so angry and realize people will lie and pay others to only tell you certain things to sell you stuff. And maybe have an open mind. Regardless spend your money how you want, BUT it does not mean you spent it wisely. Take care.

Honestly no matter how much of an improvement it is over the regular PS5, for me both the pro and the slim are non-starters due to the disc drive requiring online pairing just to function (and that needing to be done again if the console ever needs to be factory reset). For that reason, I'll stick with the "phat"model that I got last year before they disappeared from shelves after that factoid about the slim was revealed.

Plus for anyone who wants a disc drive and cares about long term access to their games, putting aside any price, they are better off with the original "phat" PS5 with disc drive over the slim or pro with disc drive that has to be paired to the console online. Yes, this is theoretically a "one time thing", if nothing ever happens to the console, but in reality it has to happen again if the console ever needs to be factory reset. I had been holding off on even getting a PS5 (I wanted one eventually, but wasn't in a hurry), but last year when the slim was coming out and the online pairing requirement was revealed, I made it a point to get the "phat" model while it was still available in stores new. And since the slim's disc drive issue has carried over to the pro (and is even worse since there is no option to even buy a pro with the disc drive included), I'm even more happy that I made that decision.

@@MatrixAlphaCWX Nah, haven't had a PlayStation since PS3 - college, kids etc. But I did consider getting a base model last year, but decided to wait another year to get the pro. After seeing what it has to offer and the price, I'd rather get 3 base models for me and my kids rather than 1 pro model for us to share. We are looking forward to some upcoming multiplayer games like Light No Fire and Towers of Aghasba looks cool too.

Way more and should cost more technically speaking on paper too. But these people (most likely kids and young adults who think they know everything tech 🙄..tech older than they've been alive, but they know everything lol) just don't get it. They are so focused on the things that aren't valuable in the long run and it's truly sad they think this way. Focusing on hdd and a stand that really eat up production costs for Sony and really, most people waste these two things because they rarely use these items. You can see just how selfish they are because they are mad about a vertical stand, not realizing that not everybody will be setting their PS5 Pro in a vertical position, that alone is a waste. So yes, as a company, I would charge you money for something that you may or may not use after we took the time and money to produce these lil insignificant things. The hdd is in the same boat. Really?? Nowadays you can damn near find $80 laying on the street. You can save up for it, get it later, ask for bday money or even a gift card or ask for it specifically as a gift (you do the same for the games you buy anyway) and still eventually you won't need it as you'll find yourself lazily retreating to your already downloaded copy of the games. This also eats up Sony's time and production costs on something not worth it in the long run, especially where things are headed in tech. I too like the option, but I don't mind paying for it and in fact, it helped me make a more informed decision for myself. I too found it hard to decide if I wanted to add on the hdd, but thought about my adult life and can't see me going to get a disc all the time for literally no reason but to act like I'm doing something important with a console lol. Just think, PCs don't have hdd, and these are the people chiming y'all to get a pc instead of the pro, yet you cry about not having a hdd?? Do you not see how hypocritical that literally looks?? You think that's where the price point is? You think the price value for you is to have a hdd and a plastic stand, you'd rather have those two insignificant things and not have 2TB ssd, a PSSR graphic boost that also helps boost performance and native RT 4k 60fps across the board with 120fps boost?? Lol no, those things don't cost nearly as much as the soon to be obsolete hdd and the plastic stand 🙄 lol. The hardware inside the console is where the price point is and that stuff is not easy and is expensive! Kids these days are ridiculous and uneducated tbh. Yep, I have an insane backlog on PS5 that I will never catch up on - and many of those games will be better than ever, so REALLY looking forward to it! Same as you I also have a decent gaming PC, just I prefer the ease of use (amongst other things) of consoles 🙂

Yes if you have a HDMI 2.1 TV you will see it in top gear, so for those without that it is harder to justify. PS6 without a drive is looking very likely it has to be said... Interesting times ahead!

@lllllillllllllillll I've said this elsewhere as well and yet they STILL AREN'T HAPPY and refuse to see what Sony did. Sony really did do what they said, but nobody wants to see that. Sony said the Pro is not meant to replace the base version and you're fine sticking with that. The Pro is for the niche market and enthusiasts, or to welcome those coming from a different platform, and not specifically for those who want to upgrade (that's only if you want to). So they priced the hdd and stand separately, and the Pro version a fair price for what you'll be experiencing. The cryers only want to see what they want, which is whether they can get something for nearly free and if they can't, then all the sudden Sony is the greedy crook, but they can't see themselves as hypprocites asking for price drop on something that actually should cost a little more for the hardware compared to the price of a pc with 4k res and RT. No, the $80 hdd and $30 stand is the innovation here lol...more like they just want something for free and free hardware upgrades and then want free games too, but Sony is the crook lol. Okay 👌😂. Sony has to make profit too, ya know...

I'm still on my S21 FE (fan edition) for the most important features of the phone IK will be useful to me and still get updates, including a decent camera that has not disappointed me in photo and video filming. To me, that's how you manage your spending lol. Not worrying about the latest thing you have hardly any clue about and will rarely use. With the PS5 Pro, the biggest features are the upgraded gpu, PSSR faster rendering and upscaling and the 2TB ssd. Not the plastic vertical stand ik I will not be using or the optional hdd that I can always order later only not to use as much; that's how you're supposed to view tech. Lol like, how is this a ripoff? The features most valuable to use matters, not these little insignificant things that don't come for free. They don't even add up to a useful value, and cause Sony production waste, where they could upsell us for those things without the important aforementioned features.

Have to see when it is here in my hands - which it will be in a month! For me, and what I want, the benefits are clear - that 2TB SSD is super useful, the 60FPS in Fidelity mode will be obvious to see (I hate 30FPS), and things like WiFi 7, PSSR, and Game Boost are the icing on the cake. I'm looking forward to it!

I never saw that vid, but I always said until you see it in action, it's impossible to judge. Custom chips and PSSR/AI can make a massive difference as we are now seeing 🙂

@@honestrob i have a ryzen 7 5500 and amd 4060ti. The GPU on ps5pro is more equivalent to a 4070ti. My ryzen 7 cpu is 3.65gh and what we know the regular ps5 is 3.85. And we don't know the specs of cpu on pro yet. And what it will be clocked at. The ps5 is a 8gb gddr6 and the pro is 16gb gddr6. That makes a competing computer very expensive.. I find it hilarious when pc people build a low quality 700 computer that does not compete and say it's better.. it's not.

I like how you think that just because you have built many botched up PCs, you know all there is, when you just have AVERAGE access to hardware as an average pc builder. You do know these major tech companies are major for a reason, don't you? It means they have knowledge and access to things that the general public does not, and for good reason. So yes, they purposefully left certain details out. That's why they prevent pictures and other information, to protect themselves and secrets to hardware use and how it's being used. @hilde198881 Clear your cookies and data and cache history for the website. I promise it'll work. I spent time trying to figure out the reason and went to another browser...until I finally went to delete my browser history for something totally unrelated and I was like..."ohhhh, duh". It'll even tell you that when you go to delete cookies that if you don't, it'll prevent you from adding to the cart and you'll have website issues if you don't.

You have to clear cookies and data and cache in browser history. It should work then.

It's each to their own I guess. I have a good PC too, just I prefer the hassle free nature of consoles!

I'm a PC gamer and am talking up this device as an enthusiast. This device is up to 3x in raytracing performance, 1.5x in raster, and introduces PSSR, which looks more like DLSS than FSR in its infancy. Raytracing is pretty end game for graphics Fidelity. It is very immersive

if it came with a stand more people don't use than do, came with a drive 80% don't use.... and there's plenty of games benefitting from it, 11 were in the original DF vid, there are ones appearing in PS Store Pro Enhanced already like No Man's Sky, over 8,500 PS4 games will get game boost (could be great) and more. I get why people would not buy it because of the drive thing, but comments like 'no games' are just plain silly and obviously not true.

@@petersmith6085 im a big physical games guy. If the game has a physical, I’ll get it over digital. Even if i have to import. So no disk drive is a big deal for me. It wouldn’t be so bad if the disk drive was cheap, but no, it’s $80 dollars. A stand wouldn’t be a big deal if they were marketing the ps5 pro on its side. But the reveal only showed the console standing straight upright, so i think thats kinda weird to show it that way. As far as the “no games” thing, most third party games that are coming out on ps5 are also coming out on ps4. Even god of war ragnarok had a ps4 version. Which is a first party game! And guess what, PlayStation is also putting their games on pc. I’m not a huge pc gamer, but i do have one. So seeing that i could wait 6 months to play a game on a pc i already own, or just get it on the ps4, which i already own, to play it on there for a few less frames, instead of buying a 700 dollar console. Plus a disk drive for 80 dollars, BEFORE TAX?! nah, im out. I’ll probably just pick up a slim. Man Must be nice! I will be joining you in the 77 OLED in the coming months but I definitely know how incredible OLED TVs are compared to the other types of displays. With the PS5 Pro you know we are in for some premium Visuals and Immersion!

I'm the opposite; I can barely tell the difference once I get to 1080p and above, regardless of screen size, but I can notice the difference between 120 and 60fps and the jump from 60 down to 30 is immersion breaking for me.

@@asole100 Not if you buy something decent. LG oleds have 'pixel shift' and unseen to the eye moves things very slightly now and again. I've had oleds nearly 8 years and never had burn in.

You forgot to mention over double SSD storage of the PS5, PSSR, custom massively improved Ray Tracing, Wifi 7, and Game Boost to name a few. But apart from that, it's the same yes 🙂

@@honestrob the rest is extremely minor though. Who needs 2tb ssd on a console? On a PC yeah because you don't just play games. I would much prefer 1TB but it be cheaper. I am never going to have anywhere close to 2TB of games installed at one go and there is really zero reason why anyone would. Besides 1tb of storage is fairly cheap. Wifi 7 also isn't a big deal, most people don't have a a WiFi 7 router and it isn't going to make a big difference from 6. I stand by my original comment. You are getting nowhere near twice as good a console for somewhere near twice the price. All that is before you even get in to the arguments about how most games will never even take advantage of the hardware. There are nearly 4000 games on PlayStation but only 60 confirmed to be pro rated.

Which is why the PS5 Pro is so cool. You don't need to make that choice. And people like the hassle free experience. That's why there are so many console gamers. If they want console gamers using PCs they need to make them as user friendly as consoles. Do you see?

Ya and you don't have to choose now, try researching something before speaking. You people complain just to complain.

Do you know how small the percentage of pc players that have a rig capable of playing AAA titles at 4k120 or even 4k60? It's miniscule. You judge a console for having a choice of modes but a PC has hundreds of individual settings that need to be tweaked in order to get the optimal settings for any given game!

@@fpvpilot7713 PC Optimisation is like having a vehicle where if you can have Aircon on you can't turn have your headlights on if you have the headlights on your indicators won't work. To force the indicator to work you have to shift from 4th gear to 2nd, once in second gear the brakes don't work unless you put the hazards on...... And on and on it goes!

Sony is pricing this tech very fairly. The built-in 2TB SSD alone is over $100 compared what they put in the original. Sony's job is not only to make their consumers happy by creating new tech, but as a large company, they're also supposed to support themselves, employees and the developers. How did you expect them to make a profit? Oh wait, you just care about what you can get? You really don't see an issue in that selfishness?? God forbid you make a product, then have people complain about how you are charging them an arm and leg for your invention, when you are bringing them a product not only worth the value you are pricing it at (because you need to make a profit to live yourself), but feel you are also providing your consumers with something they want and is useful to them. I suggest if you do go into business, be prepared to be in the very position you put Sony in, because you can't please everybody, obviously. Everything costs money and even the smallest inventory add up (e.g. hdd and stand). When you create a product, you can't just sell it at a price that will please the public, because I guarantee you that the public (like yourself) just want what they can get away with (everything free) and won't give af about the needs of the company and their employees needing to benefit as well; or anybody else for that matter. This is why consumerism is important, so we can put money into something so we all can benefit and profit as well. This money can be returned to you, but you have to contribute as well. If you keep taking, guess what, you won't see much of a return. Furthermore, that's actually what drive prices up. When people don't buying existing products/inventory guess what happens, they now have to raise the prices to make the money back that they invested in. Takes money to make it as they say. Didn't you go to school for this and take econ class? Now, this Pro console could very well be a flop (praying it's not). I haven't had my hands on it, so all I can do is go on the reviews, articles, and anything else that has been done thus far and trust the educated people doing these test until I test it myself. So far from what I've seen, I won't be disappointed (especially if the base model is a great console as it is) and this is a great step forward towards the PS6 that many are anticipating. Whether I can get it, afford it or not, it will and needs to happen anyway, or else tech for consoles won't move forward. It's a risk, but this is life and has always been the way of anything in development and evolution. Without great risks, there will be no great rewards for anybody, and failures push better ideas and thus how we have these great technologies we have today. Ik for a fact I'm older than you, because when I was born, the first computer barely existed. While you're over there, spoiled af, born smack into the middle of the most ground breaking tech that mommy and daddy really want you to have lol and learning it faster than I could. Because at that time, it was new and barely starting lol, so everybody was learning it at the same time just about, even my boomer parents...and they still had a hard time because it was too futuristic for them unless they were really interested in learning it; which many boomers were, and some had to for their employment. Anyways, you can believe what you want and cope, but these are the facts of life. For that misunderstanding alone, all points to you being mad. @honestrob And that would be a reason to be preoccupied while waiting for new games. At least that's what I would do. And if you have a hdd, now it can really be put to use. Instead of complaining about no new games, but have all these hard copies of games you claim to need to have ownership over lol, but don't play them because you're waiting for new games...then what's the point of having them and needing the hdd if you are waiting for new games? lol I'm still trying to understand these kids point tbh. Where does the internet find these people? The Pro will be the third PS5 he owns, one in a custom race cab with PSVR2 and the other in a custom arcade cab, and the Pro on his OLED HDMI 2.1 TV..... Money has nothing to do with it, he just won't use it past a few games as he said in the vid lol lol!!! Jealous much?
