PS5 Pro's $700 Price EXPOSES Why Xbox Game Pass is the Best Deal in Gaming! 

Not at all, they are basically zero margin devices given away at cost. $700 won't even buy you a mid range 4070 TI and the graphics specs look like it should give the 4070/4070 Super a good run for it's money. As far as a DVD drive, I haven't had one on my computer since shortly after the original Ryzen CPUs came out, I just have a USB one I use maybe once a year. Disclaimer: I have never owned a Playstation or a Xbox so save the fanboy BS .......

And please the ONLY reason they are charging $700 for the Pro is they know people will pay it not because the hardware actually costs that much. Most of the hardware is probably ripped straight from the 4+ year old PS5 base hardware, hardware that should be cheaper by now. And really while $700 may not get you a mid range PC, if you actually play on PC you would know that the point of getting a gaming PC isn't really to get better performance for the same price its the extra value you get by it being... more than a gaming device/more versatile. If we are going to compare PC and console lets be smart about the comparisons.

If they play online lets not forget to tack on an additional $80 a year. We're in the 4th year of the PS5 so that's $320 at the very least. Add it up $500+$700+$320 = $1,520 in just 4 years. If they wanted a disc drive for the PS5 Pro, that's an additional $80 making the overall cost over $1,600, in the span of 4 years. I spent less than that on my gaming PC I built in 2021 and don't intend on upgrading the graphics card for years to come. Meanwhile this mid-gen refresh is hitting, and not to mention the PS6 when it comes out which probably is a couple of years away. People are delusional if they think they are saving money by doing this, they need to start calculating the cost to see how much money they are really spending in the long run. People are getting ripped off and Sony is just collecting the cash

I'm an Xbox guy myself but I do not see the need for the 2 TB Series X....just buy a SSD+HHD

Shoot if they can build a console that will play next gen games at native 4k 60 without Raytracing and has access to gamepass and steam. I'd easily pay 1000$ for that system. Not a second thought about it and I own a 3500$ PC with a 3090. They have to nail native 4k60 and that steam library access first.

@@raychii7361 A $1400 PC will get you an AMD 7800 xt with 16 gigs of VRAM a Ryzen 7 7700x CPU that clocks between 4.5 and 5.4 GHz, 32 gigs of Ram and an SSD... so yes that will beat anything that remains of "this gen" plus anything "next gen" as well which will equal to about 10 years.

That was my thought process. Anything above $500 at this point this gen is a scam.

The PS5 Pro is now more in line with the Series X. Both pricing sucks, but $700 for the pro WITHOUT a disk drive or stand is beyond ridiculous.

Personally, I'd rather the price point be paying for the power and performance inside the machine than for corners to be cut in order to hit the same price point with a disk drive included.

I don't see this console having that same buy value. The PS5 was a new generation console and there was a big parts shortage at the time that caused smaller supplies which drove up the price, then even more due to scalpers. It'll be really different.

The console releases in november this year and GTA6 is rumored to possibly be delayed until the end of 2025 or even the beginning of 2026.
